hey whats up, im somewhat new to e-donkey, been using torrents for awhile mostly, it just seems like it is taking forever before it finds the file and then starts the download. what sorta timeframe should i expect when i download a movie, generally bittorrent was rather fast, just wondering how to speed up this process cuz i luv this site and what to contribute.

Your download time varies from movie to movie.
First step: Get eMule, superior to eDonkey in every way. (http://emule-project.net)
eMule works with a credit file you have to build op. The more you upload to a certain user, the higher that user will place you in his queue. You will of course start with no credit at all so in the beginning your downloads will be very slow. The more you upload (mainly movies from this board are downloaded by the same users a lot) the higher you will get in those people's queue's, meaning your turn for downloading a chunk will be sooner.
Just leave the Mule on for a couple of days and you'll speed up. It also helps when you don't turn it off at all (at night ie).
It will never get as fast as bittorrent but you will be able to find many, many, many more horror movies on the Mule.

indeed, edonkey2000 is now officially dead too.
Most of the main users on this site use emule.

D.'s advice is sound :)

Can I import the downloads from Edonkey 2000 to eMule?
