Some news on the second series:

Quote:
** MASTERS OF HORROR 2: Creator/executive producer Mick Garris confirms that John Landis, Stuart Gordon, Joe Dante, Tobe Hooper, John Carpenter and himself will be back to helm more segments of the critically praised anthology. Regarding directorial newcomers, "Brad Anderson is one of the new faces on board this time," Garris reveals. "I'm a huge fan of his SESSION 9 and THE MACHINIST. We're trying to lock up several others, but schedules this year are increasingly difficult to coordinate. We hope to have Guillermo del Toro and Rob Zombie on board as well." Both del Toro and Zombie could not squeeze in MASTERS gigs last time.

Of season two's writers, PICK ME UP's David J. Schow just completed his adaptation of the John Farris story " I Scream, You Scream, We All Scream for Ice Cream," while CIGARETTE BURNS' Drew McWeeny and Scott Swan will collaborate on a new teleplay for Carpenter again. Horror author Graham (THE MANITOU) Masterton's "Anti-Claus" has also been optioned, while DREAMS IN THE WITCH-HOUSE's Stuart Gordon and fellow H.P. Lovecraft scholar/co-author Dennis Paoli have another classic author in mind for their MASTERS follow-up. "We are doing THE BLACK CAT," Gordon tells, "ideally with Jeffrey Combs playing Poe! We are excited to be back, as MASTERS OF HORROR is a groundbreaking show.?

And the news gets even better. "Clive Barker is writing an original screen treatment, which I will adapt and possibly direct," adds Garris, who tackled Barker's "Haeckel's Tale" to close out the first batch of MASTERS episodes. "I also wrote another script called THE V WORD, which is an original." Regarding MASTERS OF HORROR's future, Garris concludes, "All we really want to do is give voice to the best people in the horror genre and make the best fright films possible. We truly want to continue to stretch the envelope and do the kinds of things that go beyond the commonplace mall-cinema fare." (thanks to Fangoria.com)

Excellent news. Good to hear the series will be continuing. Something different from the movies you see in the cinemas and more like the old school horror...though some still have not captured the right atmosphere of the 80's horror..

I've so far watched the 1st four eps and my fav thus far is HP Lovecraft's....very gory, creepy, great story an good directing.

My sec fav is Jenifer... damn...good! lol

My least fav however is the 1st one...which I find, there's not much meaning/connection to the whole story. :beerchug: :beerchug:

Jenifer was way cool... Typical that it was directed by Dario Argento!! The show kinda falls of the rails a bit in the latter eps. Though I do like the new one. I think this is why they are selling it at first as single dvd sets... mabey they think they are pricing people out who look at a dvd with 3 eps but only like one of them.

Hmmm... so is ep11 in fact Takashi Miike's "Imprint", or is it going to be Larry Cohen's "Pick Me Up" - in which case it is actually ep12?

This is getting confusing... :-)

ep11 is "Pick me Up", they're labelled as they're broadcast

Glad to see the always lovely Fairuza Balk in Cohen's episode :P
So the next ep. to be broadcast will be the last one we'll get to see? (until Miike's episode is released on DVD)
