There are only 12 VN2's to go, and one of those has been released on Usenet, so what do we do for our next nasties fix? I'm sure many of us here could compile another list of horror films that made up Mr. Plod's free evening entertainment in the mid-80's but most of them are already easily available (Basket Case, The Blood Spattered Bride, Superstition etc etc). I had another idea, or am I being totally anal here? Go back to the original list and build a new collection of 1.4GB VHS rips from the original pre-certs with trailers, copyright messages etc left intact and full size sleeve, label & spine scans

I guess that's just too anal. Maybe I should get thinking about that third list, I think I left a VHS of Rosemary's Killer behind at my parents' house.

this site got me collecting them and i got a whole bunch on dvd now...


maybe getting them on dvd(r) would be a next goal? not just 700 mb rips but also full quality 4,5 gig rips????

lol, well crusty mpegs and junk are worth replacing, but i think the next step is attempting to acquire better sources/masters.

Perhaps put on a ski mask and run into the respected distributers archives for the original prints and half-inch a authoring machine

but it can be worse, i have seen jess franco vhs tapes on ebay being sold for 1400 dollar... totaly insane....

I haven't got that book and it's not easy to get hold of these days, could you (or anyone else) provide me with a list please and I'll have a go at building a collection.

Further thoughts as to my VHS idea though, some of the nasties had different opening sequences on VHS (Island of Death - already ripped by BlackThrash for Grimrippers, Zombie Flesh Eaters, Living Dead at the Manchester Morgue), does anyone think this makes the VHS rip worth having as well. I do

still id like to see all the nasties as dvdrs ( even good vhs --> dvdr rips for the ones that have no official dvd release), the problem is to spread them. i have about 45 - 50 on original/bootleg dvd, but in no way i can share these properly as dvdr. Maybe its a future plan in a year or 2 or 3 when there are better connections to get dvdr's better released....

Thanks skantchybaby, that's a lot of work you've put into listing them, and even more to create a collection from all those. I was aware of most of these titles as being contentious pre-certs, but some of these surprised me (Girl on a Motorcycle ). A few of these have been shown on UK TV, wish I'd capped 'em now. I think I'll pass on the softcore tbh, and there's some hardcore in there as well, Pussy Talk for example. This was given XXX in a local video shop catalogue in about 1983, they also listed a flick called Skintight which I've never heard of since as being XXXXX. But enough of pr0n, bring on the nasties

Is a proper of Nightmare City needed? A search only showed up a LQ rip. BTW the pre-cert was cut to shreds, the DVD is uncut.

I don't have too many pre-certs left unfortunately (or fortunately comparing the price I got for them with what they go for on ebay these days) but if I were to rip any would you rather see them begin at the start of the tape or the start of the trailers, logo or whatever? The former would be more authentic but a PITA to have to "fast forward".

I've been having more thoughts on that list BTW, I'll have to get to work on alternate titles, for example Poor Albert and Little Annie was called Crazed on pre-cert and has been released here under its US title I Dismember Mama, also ET:The Extra Terrestrial Nastie was originally called Night Fright, the video title and cover were obviously a cash-in on ET and I guess if it were to be released now would revert to its original title.

Bets on the last title to get on this list already... Pets, that's one hell of a rare pre-cert
