So more gore with less time spent behind TV. Looks like good choice

yay now I can delete the version with that massive timecode on now, personally I thought it was a shit film but so f'cking ultraviolent and thrilling at times you could forgive it its weak charactor development and lack of depth. So huge thanks STR this is A film that deserves the ripping treatment one of our scenes best ripping can give it.I had my money on either you or SiCK doing the honours.

I'll grab the samples, and if there really was something wrong with the "B2R" rip, I'll let you guys know.

While the res is smaller, the motion on the Vomit rip is definitely smoother. Anyone want the samples?

How can it be "bad IVTC" if they're both at 23.976 fps and the DVD is 29.97?

I don't understand it either, but there is a noticeable difference when watching. Want me to put both samples on the mule?

STR or 'B2R' was nuked for bad IVTC, not for NO IVTC. That means IVTC was done (23,976), but not correctly. There are more ways how to do it. In this case, movie playback is jerky and that's the reason.

There are more movies posted here with bad IVTC, like Dead.And.Breakfast.[2004].DVDRip.XViD.=STR= or Skinned.Deep.2004.STV.DVDRip.XviD-PYNHEAD

I did some testing with IVTC but couldn't figure it out. So I know how it shouldn't be done, but I have no idea how to make it right with certain movies...

You need to manually check the frame sequence of progressive and interlaced films (in gknot in the preview window use the arrow keys to advance a frame at a time). People are just choosing force film or standard IVTC, the latter takes parameters that need configuring to take into account the frame ordering.

3:2 pulldown is the most common method which is handled by gknot without changes (or force film if you can), but that's only for sequences of:
pppii (3 progressive, 2 interlaced)

Google for IVTC for comprehensive guides on what the issue is and how to solve it.

Aha, so I guess there are more ways how to do telecine as well. Majority of my DVDs are PAL, so usually I don't have to deal with with IVTC.
Anyway, I found some interesting pages at Doom9, will start cracking it now.
And Spud, thanks for the tip :beerchug:

actually, technically many PAL need IVTC'ing down to 24fps. Infact, its in the new TDX guidelines, but i don't think many people bother.

Yes, I read on Doom9, that some PAL movies are telecined and it was actually new info to me. I thought it was always simply speeded up.

I'm sorry, but doesn anyone have a GOOD version of this film? It seems people carelessly rip this, without even skimming to make sure what they did was correct. I haven't seen the previous release, but the VOMiT has the shottiest quality I have EVER seen (seriously, it's like... 10.0 Xvid quant) near the end.

1:12:00 ~ 1:26:30
From when he picks up the chainsaw to the beginning of the SCROLLING credits.

If someone can send me this section in decent divx, or from the previous release, I can make a proper. Or maybe I'll just go rent the damn dvd and encode it.

Yeah...

So if anyone has a better quality version of that timeframe (roughly 10m of video) of the same resolution or higher (not lower preferably)... then send it my way. Yousendit, rapidshare, megaupload, those are preferred. I'd rather not download an entirely new version...

Yeah, you are right, don't bother downloading vomit's proper. I grabbed it yesterday and it has really low bitrate after 1:12:00... somebody typed in wrong end credits start time.

We'll just have to wait for real proper

Anyone know if there is movement on a proper? This film is rather hard to track down.

It's ripped and ready for release. In fact it's already in my share, but my time online is sporadic to say the least.

Once I've got it shared with the other guys it should be easy to get.
