According to IMDB after putting the plot summary through the 'jive' dialectizer, this is what happens in the first film....

Blacula be de sto'y uh Manuwalde, an African Prince. Dis movie presents some modern version uh de classic Dracula sto'y in some very chillin' and inventive way. Slap mah fro! In 1780, afta' visitin' Count Dracula, Manuwalde be turned into some vampire and locked in some coffin. 'S coo', bro.. De scene shifts t'1972, when two antique collecto's transpo't da damn coffin t'Los Angeles. De two dudes jimmey de coffin and unleash Blacula on de city uh Los Angeles. Blacula soon finds Tina, who be his mama, Luva, reincarnated, and gains ha' love. Tina's homey, Doc Go'don, discovers Blacula be a vampire and hunts him waaay down.
