There are lots, and lots of sources for this one:
http://tothbenedek.hu/ed2kstats/ed2k?ha ... ACF4D1683A
428 partials, and 25 complete

(428peers, 25 seeds if you prefer :))

Make sure you've got emule setup right and are connected to a decent server (any with a large user count and this will go dark blue :) ) if your having trouble

I downloaded this and I can't play it worth a damn because everytime I go to open it, it crashes the folder and whatever player I'm trying to use on it. It also crashes the folder if I so much as rightclick it and leave the properties menu open and untouched for approximately 10 seconds. Winmedia player, winamp and real player all crash with this along with everything else...

Anyone else having similar problem or know whats likely causing it and can tell me how to fix it or wtfs going on here?

I dont think its a virus as I scanned the file and they the whole computer and it came up with nothing :wacky:

Try using VLC (VideoLan). It can play pretty much anything, even broken and bugged files...

Deadsoldierscene, your pc has some bad codecs\filter\etc installed that's causing it. There's nothing wrong the file, only it seems windows ability to read the file on your machine doesn't work, which suggests you've got some shite software on there.

You haven't installed a codec pack have you? That would be a source of such behaviour, you should avoid codec packs unless you actually do encoding.

If you are a download and player only, then you only need FFDshow. Uninstall all your codecs and install FFDShow. It will handle all playback. If you encode, go to gknot.doom9.org and download the encoding codec pack there. Otherwise, there is a sticky topic in the help seciton with veririfed codec links.

I suspect the reason explorer is crashing is that its trying to read the avi, loading in this shite software you have installed, and then crashing when this shite software becomes unstable.

As for your choice of players, they are all pretty terrible for MPEG4 playback and I would suggest taking windows media player and real player, tying them to the stake, and burning them. Winamp you shouldn't use for video since its bad at it, very bad.

Decent players are:
Media Player Classic (not windows, freeware player and a damn good one, google for it)
Zoomplayer
BSplayer
or
VLC.

Personally i use MPC.

Thx alot for the great advice guys :beerchug: I tried using VLC and it worked fine. As for the codec issue I do have a codec pack installed but I'm not all that familiar on how it effects any of the crappy players I've been using, with the exception of winamp which works great for juke boxin. At any rate I'll do as you suggested and spend some time getting my video playing capabilities up to snuff.

VLC bypasses all the playback filters explains why it would work in that and not in your other players. That just about confirms that the problem is something in your codec pack.

I had the same problem with another file a while back. As I recall it was a combination of a buggy codec and a slightly chewed file.

its a pretty standard marketing gimmick to say its a super unrated edition. In reality its the only version available on dvd.
http://www.dvdcompare.net/comparisons/film.php?fid=9041

Dunno what the difference is though, i can't imagine its much.

Alot of movies are doing this lately.2 seconds of gore put back in and call it unrated.Still at least they release it first as unrated...what I can't stand is when they put it out in standard and then 4 months down the road release an unrated or extended version...now that is a marketing fuck me is there ever was (ala LOR and a slew of others)Worsed I have seen lately was the Undreworld dvd where they released standard..then unrated..now extended.....It's like "bend over you fucking consumer scumbag".That is the feeling I get...Of course..why am I bitching..I download everything anyways

One thing about this movie....didn't make me want to travel to Holland real fast

well...it's a demand and supply market out there. If people doesn't fall into this stupid scheme then they won't this in the future. But since this way of releasing seems to be getting common, I could only assume that there's still a lot of "fans" buying them.

That is because people for the most part are sheep and don't think or if they do it isn't for themselves

DxaKrator... I think it was Slovakia, not Holland, where the nasty shit happened in Hostel.

As for trouble with the playback, I suggest updating all the codecs regularly. I had trouble with a movie I dl'd, none of my media players (and I have many) wouldn't play it. It turned out that my XviD codec was too old. When I figured that out, I just updated my XviD to 1.1.0 (it's free, http://www.xvid.org), and everything was fine again.

VLC player is a good choice, it's freeware and handles just about anything you throw at it, including perhaps the kitchen sink, although I haven't tried that yet. Other good media players:

BS Player -no it doesn't mean BullShit- ( http://www.bsplayer.org ),

SubEdit Player especially if you need to create/edit subtitles ( http://www.subedit.prv.pl ) and

GOM Player ( http://www.ipop.co.kr ). A warning about this one, though: it's Korean and there doesn't seem to be a totally English GUI available. It does handle all the kitchen sinks very well, though.

HOSTEL as a film... I'm sorry but I hated it. It was too nasty in the end. And I love gore and horror, don't get me wrong... Fulci, Miike, Argento, etc... I love them. But Hostel somehow lost me in the middle... :?

But watch it yourself by all means and form your own opinion, don't believe me. :P
