If I knew of a simple and easy way to use these NZB files, I would get right on 'em.
Guess I'll wait for Ed2k share, cheers Spud

newsbins here, is a lot better than the last version of grabit i tried.
its essentially this to get stuff of news:
1. find info on your newsgroup server, usually on your isps page somewhere where they list email/ftp servers
2. install a newsgroup client, grabit/newsbins
3. set the client up to a) download to where you want b) store temp files where you want c) monitor a directory for nzb if its installed on a network pc
4. download QuickPar
Then you just click the nzb if you run newsgroups locally, or put it in the directory being scanned if its a network.
It will download. This is for newsbins specifically -> If you get "red chunks", just right click and click "retry download". Do that for any red bits. That will try and grab those bits again.
Go to your completes tab, and look for a file that ends .par2. Quickpar will launch and it will show you if you need any extra blocks due to corruption. if you do, go to your scratch tab and download the required number of extra blocks (ie, 2 blocks ends +02, 8 blocks ends +08, so if you need 10 you can either grab +10, or any combination to make up 10 (8 and 2 say))
Quickpar then repairs and your done. If you have no corruption, no point messing with pars.

Thanks for the nzb spud, I'll use some of my ISPs quota on this one.

*moved*
Looks like there's full sources on the ed2k and some mainpages have added it to their list (then again, most do that for advertising these days )

I'm sure anyone who uses newsgroups will be laughing at you. Its really, really, really simple. It just seems complicated until you realise then you feel all stupid. its like click, click, then download any pars you need if you need them

yeah its one of those learning curve things i guess, its really easy, once you understand what's happening you feel like you were an idiot before (I just switched isp and got newsgroups a month or so back and its eliminated my torrent usage for the most part).
It really is just a couple of clicks and the best way of getting new releases.

Well I tried with my ISP and when I loaded the NZB none would start downloading although I was connected to the group.. so Im guessing my ISP is full of crap

Yeah, mine too. A couple of years back they had binary groups.

I never bothered with newsgroups as I couldn't be arsed paying extra. Turns out my ISP has Giganews, only 10 GB/m (which is bollocks really - but can buy more) and only 40 KB/s, but bngs are useful and easy to use with Grabit and Quickpar. I always look there first, then BT and finally, alas emule.
Spud, where do you get your nzbs from? I use nzbsrus.com for now which seem to carry a lot of stuff.

yup all the horror movies i posted are from them, if you go to scifi.dd -> smalltalk, then search for nzb, there's loads of links in there.
