Every time I adjust the windows xp volume control, it lets out a horrible BEEP afterwards. Any way to turn this off?

but it's not the pc speaker.... it's the sound card

When I mute pc speaker it doesn't do anything and I still hear the beep. What can I do?

Not sure. If you have specifically muted "pc speaker" in the volume controls, then I don't know. Maybe a setting of the sound card itself?
