hei you've forgotten Jennifer, for me it's a masterpiece, Dario Argento knows how to make a girl with a hot body so scary and ugly that makes you laugh, ehehe

I think the torture scene and the constant dumping of dead babies in the river probably wouldn't sit well with the average TV viewer.
You have to remember that, although this series was targeted at horror fans, many of the viewers wouldn't be as accustomed to the genre as the fans discussing it on message boards like this.

Jennifer was okay. I enjoyed it when I saw it. So, maybe not garbage, but forgettable. Otherwise, I would have remembered it and put it on the list.

THe funny thing is, I live with 3 girls (women, whatever), my GF can take any flick you put on, one of the others (the hefty one) can't take anything (tense music makes her cringe), but the last one (the anorexic one) has started to love gory horror since living with me. She was never a horror fan or had even seen a gory movie. Somehow I made her love em. When I said I had the banned episode, she was like "Lemme see Lemme see", but I wanted to prepare her by showing her the director's other films (this case I chose Ichi the Killer). I think Ichi was little much for her LOL, but she throughly enjoyed Imprint and wondered why it was banned. The dead babies probably did it of course. She said she thought the image in Jenifer, where she is eating the little asian girl was worse. Go figure.
This solidifies for me that those who chose whats suitable don't know there ass from there face.
Either way this is a GREAT show, and everyone here really should think so, haven't you all been waiting for something like this? I will but most of the DVDs, already have the first 2 (they are only $10USD).

spudthedestroyer wrote: | I watched two episodes of masters of horrors. Episode 9 was awful, except for the creature and the effects which were really awesome. The plot and acting really didn't carry that sole grace though, which is a shame because the effects really were some of the best of the series. Some of the style was a ripoff of countless movies since ringu but the story was really, really bad. Episode 10 was much better, there were some annoying bits, but I really liked that episode. |
Might have been lesbians that threw me off for episode 10, if it sucks then I was side swiped
Got 3 more to go.

Hi there!
Here is the little overview of the episodes for "Masters Of Horror" Season 2:
1. Family, directed by John Landis and written by Brent Hanley, tells the story of a young married couple (Meredith Monroe and Matt Keeslar) that moves into a new home in a new city and finds out that their neighbor (George Wendt) is not what he seems.
2. Pelts, directed by Dario Argento, written by Matt Venne, adapted from F. Paul Wilson’s short-story, is an erotic tale about stolen raccoon pelts that violently turn against those that covet them in this Giallo-style adaptation of F. Paul Wilson’s short story. Meatloaf and John Saxon star.
3. The Damned Thing, directed by Tobe Hooper, inspired by Ambrose Bierce’s classic short-story and written by Richard Christian Matheson, is the apocalyptic tale of a monstrous force that devastates Sheriff Kevin Reddle’s family and his small Texas town. Sean Patrick Flanery, Marisa Coughlan and Ted Raimi star.
4. Pro-Life, directed by John Carpenter, written by Drew McWeeny & Scott Swan, tells the story of a young girl trapped inside a clinic, that discovers the only thing more dangerous than her pursuers is the demonic secret that she carries within her. Ron Perlman, and Caitlin Wachs star.
5. The V Word, a vampire film directed by Ernest Dickerson and written by Mick Garris, reveals the punishment visited upon two teenage boys who make the very poor decision to break into a mortuary. Michael Ironside stars.
6. Sounds Like, directed and written by Brad Anderson, adapted from a short-story by Mike O’Driscoll, tells the story of Larry Pearce - an ordinary man blessed with a gift of extraordinary supernatural hearing that drives him to the brink of insanity and forces him to take violent action to silence the horrific cacophony in his head.
7. The Screwfly Solution, directed by Joe Dante, written by Sam Hamm and adapted from the James Tiptree, Jr. short-story, is about a nightmare virus infecting our nation, transforming men into psychotic killers who attack every woman that crosses their paths.
8. Valerie On The Stairs, directed and written by Mick Garris from a Clive Barker original screen story, tells the tale of a novelist who discovers there are fates worse than literary anonymity in this sexually-charged tale of terror.
9. We Scream For Ice Cream, directed by Tom Holland from David J. Schow’s adaptation of John Farris’ short-story, depicts a local ice cream man who, in this case, is turning sweet-toothed children against their parents.
10. The Black Cat, directed by Stuart Gordon and written by Gordon & Dennis Paoli, has the great Poe, out of ideas and short on cash, tormented by a black cat that will either destroy his life or inspire him to write one of his most famous stories.

Thank for the info...
Today I made my way to the first season...
Man, that series was a refreshment...
They are all good, exp. Dario Argento in his old sick way...
