Well... he make New Nightmare quite good, and Freddy was meaner then in the most sequels, so answer is yes... but he must stop all that "scream" shit...

I don't see anything wrong with remaking a movie with a great premise that didn't fully deliver. The Amityville Horror immediately springs to mind as a remake I was excited about because I thought it couldn't be worse than the original, but boy was I wrong

I still think a serious remake of blood freak would be cool.

and 2001 Maniacs was a remake/retelling/insert-euphemism-for-cashcow-exploitation mmore than a sequel. Entertainment CAN be ACHIEVED if you let it..... *ahem*
