Okay, i gotta ask since you said Spiders before which is a shit b-movie about spiders, you got the right Crash didn't you? There's two Crash movies, cronenberg's which is excellent and disgusting about people who are sexually aroused by sex and simulating car wrecks (which clashed very heavily with the censors almost globally), and then this newer one that looks complete garbage and has one loads of awards.

Crash is a great film I thought... erm the good one, not this new one.

The new Crash is a great film. I have to agree with bipbop13, Cronenberg´s Crash is one of his worst films. It sucks.

Well your last statement doesn't fill me with confidence about your first statement , but I got the impression it was one of those overblown pieces of junk they throw oscars at. I'll bump it up my to watch list i guess.

I know for one thing that Crash (cronenberg's) is not everyone's cup of char, but I thought it really worked and achieved its aims. Its certainly not one of his best at all, but its well above average for a film. "It sucks" is surely a relative expression? Relative to cronenberg's standards that is.

Anyway, just noticed the "no comment" thing from bip. You should leave a comment btw, always helps to pan out a thought process especially in difficult polls like choosing between three excellent directors. :)

sorry, but yes...I know my movies. I watched both spiders and crash, and both sucked. and whats the comment about spiders- a shit b-movie? Yes I know there is more than one movie called spiders. I'm talking about David Cronenbergs Spiders. I don't like well concealed comments about possible stupidity on my part Spud, don't do it again please. Ans since we're talking about best horror movie director.....Crash, and Spiders might be shit, but neither was a horror flick either now was it? :beerchug:

Don't do this unless you want to watch a film that says "Racism = bad, everybody in LA = racist. Hopefully you will have realized this despite this message being beaten into the head of the viewer through a series of exaggerated scenes and inaccurate representations of everyday life"

Ok, so wich film do you think should´ve won this year´s oscars? Brokass Mountain? Crash was by far the best movie in this year´s race. And I saw them all (with the excepcion of "Walk the Line", don´t ask me why)

Crash's winning an Oscar means nothing to me, nor do the Academy Awards themselves. I just thought it was awful

Old Boy? :wacky: Sin City? :wacky: Yeah like a studio will ever pay for a movie like those to win!

Oscars are completely worthless, not only are the always the same inferior craporamas, they never stray from formulaic pretense in the selection. I was amazed films like Alien and The Shining ever won oscars, they had to batter there way through with downright brilliance, yet crappy 2 for a penny dramas get oscars like there's no tomorrow.

Now I'm not saying anything about Crash, I've not seen that yet. Winning an Oscar means nothing to me too, nor do the Academy Awards themselves. Titanic won 11 for the record. 'nuff said.

The ironic thing about that is that History of Violence was in the running for the same oscar as Crash  but never mind :wacky:

Well I absolutely agree, especialy with Sin City. I was talking about the nomenees (like Brokeback, or Munich, or Capote) Crash was defenetly the best. And I don´t give a fuck about the nominations either, I was just making a point.

Crash is a great film, nicely sick and twisted in a very understated way.

No desire to see the new Crash whatsoever, although I've heard it's ok, just not my cup of tea at all
