I never said it SHOULD be anything. It's the rippers choice as to how they rip.

For example, I didn't like the movie Chinatown (1974) and couldn't understand what all the hype was about it. But that doesn't mean there is any dearth of people who like that movie. Maybe because I watched the movie in a wrong mood, maybe because I watched it when partially drunk - the bottom line is I didn't like it. Now if someone makes a 1/3 DVD-R rip of the movie, I won't go in there and claim that the movie deserves only a 1/6 DVD-R rip because I thought it was shitty. Nor will I compromise with quality in the releases I make, because I didn't like the movie myself.

Well, Chinatown isn't really a good example, seeing as how the movie is 131 minutes, I doubt anybody would claim a 1CD equivalent would be sufficient. :P

IMO it would depend on demand and compressability. As in, if something was to be ripped before we started using AFR, would anybody ask for a 2CD AC3 rip, and how many people? Ripping something at 1/3 DVD-r that's easily compressible beyond that when just as many people would be satisfied at a 1/6 DVD-r rip would be the issue for me. Also, it would depend on how widely-known the movie is (how long would a 1/3 of this survive on the ed2k network vs. 1/3 of Chinatown? a 1/6 would fare much better), how the DVD would be mastered, etc.

What would have been my agenda here anyway? Considering I did have one? "World domination by proliferation of AFR rips" ?

It's obvious, you want to rule the world. Villain! :wacky: :D

Well, I can say it was better than Rottweiler  :matrix:

I still like the way this guy directs, the kitschy fakeness of the retro-projected or green-screened backgrounds. But I can't understand why he and Fear Factory felt the need to purchase the movie rights for this book (or for the Rottweiler book) when the last teenage fanboy could write a plot sucking far less than this. If someone finds some interview with Yuzna about it, I'd be curious.

Thanks to the uploader, the size was right for me :)

Sounds like you have a deeper agenda here than me, if anyone has one. Dial-up connection?

Yeah yeah, you laugh USB but here in Italy we're still bound by very strict bandwidth limits, especially on the upload side. Damn, it seems everyone here at HHAH is getting unlimited free bandwidth :matrix:

This is not really a problem for the downloads, I'm not interested in most mainstream poli-giga-sized stuff.

But being a (somewhat careless, maybe) ripper, when I have to spread something I can only count on my 24kb/s of upload (Cardinal downloading my releases helps a lot). So I haven't much choice but to try to fit on 700MB even 100min movies.

I could try the 1/6DVD size but it doesn't seem most people are doing it... I'm afraid to scare away potential downloaders :?
