There are so many rips of this but none to my high standards AFAIK.
At FH there was some interest. SO i pose the questions here, for the fans.
I had some issues with my results thus far, I want the highest quality, but the prospective filesizes may be too much. And its mostly film but gets some interlaced frames here and there.
(from FH:)
Well heres the thing folks. The DTS (which I really wanna use) is 925MB, which leaves little for the film. To make it the way I want (704width DTS, with at least 1300 Bitrate), I'd have to make it 2GBs. Overkill??? There is an ac3 5.1 track thats 300MB, but I like DTS, though its not standalone firendly and most PC decoders will make it stereo if you dont have the proper decoder.
What do you think? The ideals of the ripper and the audience might clash, so I'm open to suggestions.

I'm all for ReAnimator.
I myself prefer ac3, 925mb for audio is imho overkill. I also think you'll get more downloaders with ac3.
A 1/3rd dvd would be more than enough I think since it's 86 minutes (I assume you have the unrated millenium version?).

Well i was going to do it form the millenium dvd, but if your doing it that's great since i have far too much stuff for my line speed. I'm not a DTS fan either.
Not about standalone owners, forget about them, but anyone with a semi decent reciever should get a HUGE benefit from dts. However, i don't think the particular track is worth nearly a GB of data. For such a movie, i'd do 1/3rd with the 300mb AC3 and then try and maximise the resolution.

Ok ac3 it is, concenus. Now for fanboy debate: mono, like the original, or 5.1 (its kind of ..erm.. too dynamic IMO, but it is DRC enabled), which is probably the choice but image quality over sound quality is a plus, so mono would provide that.
The othe rthing I wanna address is, I anticipated a finished rip today (with 5.1 ac3), but there were interlaced frames with forced film, though only very sparsely, the fewest and farthest-between I have seen. I'm going back at it now, a workday and few beers/tokes deeper.
