Copyright Infringement , a fear all have as file sharers.

I got an email from Comcast today saying roughly

Copyright work(s) identified in the notification of claimed infringement:

Infringing Work: LEGO Star Wars II

Filename: Lego star wars II cd 2.iso
First Found: 25 Oct 2006 03:59:57 EDT (GMT -0400)
Last Found: 25 Oct 2006 03:59:57 EDT (GMT -0400)
Filesize: 413,475k


The problem is oddly enough, I dont have any such file on my PC. I ran a thorough search on my PC by name and filesize and neither showed up.



My question I guess is, If I have a file, but its renamed and shared on edonkey network as something else by all other people sharing(EXAMPLE- Real file name- Black Lagoon ep 14.avi , Fake name- Lego star wars II cd 2.iso) can I still be responsible?

Also, how worried should I be? Im normally pretty careful about what I share, so it really came to me as a surprise when I got them email

Do you have anybody else living with you that has the same IP? If so, they probably downloaded it on another computer. If it's not that, I'm stumped

could be spam/hoax heard a similar tale on about p2p board, as for worried they don't seem to be threatning anything its when they threaten its the time you change your pants to yellow and brown checked to hide your feelings, worse case well from what you said above, they'll watch what your doing regarding bandwidth, you have an ip filter in emule? would help to stop them checking you again but its not bulletproof.
