Err, I watched this last night (excellent film BTW), but is the aspect ratio right on this rip? It seems overly cropped.
All the heads are cut off at the top of the screen and so are the opening credits.
Is it the rip or my software?
Could someone have a look for me please?

Bugger, I hope it's your software. It's only been marginally cropped by gordian knot (auto crop) a few pixels each edge.

I have to admit to a crdinal sin though : I didn't check it before releasing it so you might be right.

I'll check it tonight when I get home and see.

I'd be suprised if it was my soft/hardware (Xbox with XBMP) but I haven't tried anything else.

If it's not my end, then it really is VERY distracting, tops of heads missing all throughout the film :(

Bugger

Completed this and was looking forward to seeing it!

But I think in the case of who released it, we can overlook a tiny mistake!

At least it's watchable!!!

I can see this thread turning into a list of posts of people complaining all resulting in the final post of some-one saying :

It's free! Stop Complaining. The dvd is perfect quality and cropping!

I'll check mine tonight to. It's still in my incoming directory

Indeed it is (although it's a bit disconcerting)

It is a disgrace DJ, I, like PC_Arcade, have never messed a release! TUT TUT

#####edit
Those rumours about me Widescreening a Full Screen Rip of The Burning, are totally false.
I have a special widescreen print done just for me. thats were i got it honest
It wasn't that I didn't double check G.Knot's aspect ratio settings before clicking go

Any-one else can vouch for the cropping.

Are we all horders, who MUST have the file and never watch it?

I'm one of the horders. Gotta download it

Cheers Spud "King of Torents"

Think I'll try and hope on and download it through BT then.

aah, I think that may clear up any confusion over this having an incorrect ratio :

Spud's link = 1.68:1
DJBenz = 2.37:1 (!)

Shit, so I have to nuke my own release?

I think I've pinned it down to some funny buggernation going on when I installed DiVX5.05 with GKnot 0.27. Uncontrollable file sizes, and now (it appears) bad cropping.

Best to preview Meat Market if it's in your queue, in case it's messed up too.

Sorry guys.

On a positive note, all seems to be back to normal with GKnot 0.28 installed - Meat Market 2 has been converted with XViD and weighs in at a respectable 699MB. AR looks OK too (4:3).

P.S. I hate you all for pointing out my mistake. :matrix:

No probs DJ!!!

Looking foward to MM2

And now you're an official releaser (coz you messed up a release!) just like the majority of us.

So how you gonna nuke it??

It's in my sahre and alot of people have it complete and shared!!!

i think this one will linger for a while (Ebola Syndrome Mark II)

Cheers Paul, give the knife a twist why don't you.

I'm still not convinced yet, most likely cause of this problem is that the original DVD is badly cropped. (yeah, right)

Or someone stuck black tape along the top & bottom edges of PC_A's TV for a laugh.

@Prayer - Luv ya. :wink:

That was a hash change problem (out of your control) but the amount of people who still come accross it is amazing

And probably your best rip. Definetly a popular one!

I'd love to know how many people downloaded it!

I reckon 1000's.

Anyway, it's just the topic of the day, DJBenz.
Tomorrow we'll have all forgotten :beerchug:

@ PC_Arcade. And you owe the studios a small settlement outside the courts, for P2P use :argue: !

Right, lets have no mention of messed up rips today, except :

@DJ Benz - at least the experience has taught me to now always check the cropping of GK, when autocropping. I never do!!!
