Hmmm, I just spotted this thread and figured it might be the right place to ask this question:-

I`ve d/l`d some dvdrips of a few tv show episodes (24, Bones, etc) and a couple of movies from some WEBSITES (which i wont name due to the rules about http linking) purely because i can get some sick and evil speeds from there as opposed to my more sedate emule type ones, and was wondering if there would be any way of me checking if they have been renamed or had rippers tags removed when being posted on the "video sharing/social networking" sites as most of them had names like "aassfff" which i assume is so as not to flag up as being naughty copyright infringement.

so is there any way i could find out how/to what these files would hash without me sharing them in emule first?

i could always share them and then browse myself from my second pc, start d/l them from myself and then check the filename details/comments but there has to be a simpler way than that......or is this just wishful thinking?

Often it's the one with most sources. But not always.

example if it looks like this:

It most probably is correct.

if it looks like:
'filename.year.ripinfo-shared.by.seanboy.avi'
It's definatly not correct filename.

If all you want are the hashes, hyperhasher will give them to you quickly and easily

exactly what i wanted to know, as it turns out most of the stuff has been shared on the mule before so i can retrieve and replace the filenames so they corrolate with the ones i`ve grabbed on mule.

The exact outcome i wanted......

Even with the tags removed , it just makes me grin to stumble upon a 4 year old rip of mine on zearc.
