IMDb
Quote: | Fanciers of the weird will likely respond to the film, about a nebbish comic who has a third arm growing out of his back. The film has a significant cast, including Judd Nelson in the lead role, James Caan, Lara Flynn Boyle, Wayne Newton, and Bill Paxton. Its revel in the grotesque does not stop at the arm, and delves with attempted humor into everything from necrophilia to splatter cartoons. The characters are deliberately imbecilic and keeping their company for 100 minutes is a challenge in itself. The film also has a deadpan tone, preventing any sort of emotional release from its tortures. Left without notation on the jacket cover, the picture has been letterboxed, with an aspect ratio of about 1.85:1. In some shots, it appears that the top of the image is a bit cropped. The color transfer is good and the image is quite sharp. The monaural sound is fine. |
Quote: | Adam Rifkin ("Detroit Rock City") wrote and directed this movie. He has got to be totally whacked out! In a good way, of course.
This is a VERY dark movie in a whole bunch of ways. I don't know whether this takes place in some sort of alternate universe or if this is the direction we are now heading in our own world. I shudder to think.
Marty Malt (Judd Nelson) and Gus (Bill Paxton) are best friends and they have jobs where they sort of collect garbage. More garbage falls out of the truck than they manage to put in the truck! Actually, in this world, there is WAY too much garbage for anyone to pick up. Being a garbage collector in this world seems hopeless. So does almost everything else. Marty does have a second job...he is the world's worst stand-up comic at Syd's Bar which appears to cater to the geriatric set.
Marty is in love with Rosalita (Lara Flynn Boyle) and Gus likes women with quite a bit more meat on their bones! This is an understatement. Don't ask what Gus does with a naked woman that he finds dead at the dump. If you are into garbage dumps...this is a garbage dump of great stature. Someone named "Blump" apparently owns everything in this world, including man-made ham and pork juice! Yummy. You probably have the same questions that I have. Something to do with how these things actually taste?
A little advice...do not plan to eat anything during this movie. When Gus goes foraging in Marty's fridge, your stomach will literally turn over! I don't think he drinks the pork juice, though. But I am pretty sure that he never bathes.
Okay...to the gist! A lump starts growing on Marty's back. He goes to see Dr. Scurvy (James Caan), whose performance is totally beyond description. Actually, Doctor Scurvy's initial advice turns out to be accurate in the end! The lump on Marty's back turns into a darling baby hand and then into a full-grown arm. With a third arm, he is now of interest to a minor talent agent, Jackie Chrome (Wayne Newton). As Jackie says, "Comics with two arms are a dime a dozen"! Gus weasels his way into the act by playing the accordion. Wayne Newton is smarmy to the max with his pencil-thin mustache and Rob Lowe has an incredibly funny cameo as Dirk Delta.
Bill Paxton plays the role of Gus with demonic glee and Judd Nelson as Marty Malt is totally believable as his extra arm comforts him. I haven't mentioned Marty's irritating mother who chain-smokes while on oxygen! I kept hoping that she would blow.
The circus music that plays throughout this movie makes perfect sense! |

awesome
Looks good, but i think it would have stuck around longer if it would have been 700mb 1cd. Still, it looks like a good movie, and the rip doesn't look half bad

Fuckin' A - Man!!!!
If you only knew how long I've been trying to get a hold of this one.
Saw the trailers for it before it was meant to hit the theatres... it never came to one near me as it promised... and since then - it's been as if the damn thing didn't exist...
Grabbing this one with the skip of a heartbeat!
Thanks a bundle and then some...

Remember the real hero is HexxonVoudouEnforcer at FileHeaven
Btw, he's on a releasing spree so each single of his releases is coming
down pretty slow - it's important that we help each other with them, I've
set it to PS...

They tell me dvd should be out this october: Quote: | Judd Nelson, Bill Paxton, Lara Flynn Boyle, Wayne Newton and Rob Lowe Star in the Cult Classic
The Dark Backward: Special Edition
Including All-New Never-Before-Seen Bonus Features On DVD October 3, 2007
Culver City, CA (6/11/07) — An all-star cast including Judd Nelson (Airheads, TV's "Suddenly Susan"), Bill Paxton (Titanic, TV’s “Big Love”), Lara Flynn Boyle (Men in Black II, Happiness), Wayne Newton (Smokin' Aces, Vegas Vacation) and Rob Lowe (TV’s “Brothers & Sisters”) star in this bizarre cult comedy classic written and directed by Adam Rifkin (Detroit Rock City) about Marty the garbage man who grows a third arm on his back. Now with all-new added value, The Dark Backward: Special Edition will be available on DVD October 3, 2007 from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment for the SRP of $14.94. Originally released theatrically in 1991, this film has gone on to reach cult status with fans of the comedy and fantasy genres. The DVD will be loaded with all-new bonus material including a Q&A with Bill Paxton, Judd Nelson and Adam Rifkin (from 2006), all-new Audio Commentary, never-before-seen Deleted Scenes and a Behind the Scenes featurette.
Synopsis Garbage man Marty tries his hand at standup comedy, failing miserably until a third arm mysteriously grows from his back. Gus, his accordion player friend, figures out a way to use the new arm and gets them signed with a sleazy talent agent. Just when success seems near, Marty's girlfriend leaves him - can the arm be far behind? With a running time of 104 minutes, the film is rated “R” for brief scenes of bizarre, comic sensuality.

Can anyone reshare these two files please? I'm halfway through both of them. Seems a shame to stop now. Also, I've been looking for this flick for ages.
