Ooooh! They Live is one of my favorites. :)

Last night we watched The Redsin Tower and August Underground's Penance. Both had stupid endings, but I guess I was entertained. I liked the previous installments of AU much better.

Evil Come Evil Go - weird exploitation with a female prophet and her lesbian disciple who want to rid the world of pleasurable sex and evil men.

Vampire Bats - Lucy Lawless and Jessica Stroup in quite an enjoyable movie with... you may guess what monsters ;)

POTC 3 - At Worlds End.

Disappointed with this one. It starts off confusing as to why liz & will are squabbling & the undead lot have now become too friendly. This one focuses mainly on capt. barbossa & the voodoo hottie.

Shame that they spoiled the trilogy with this one. On a plus note, my son loved it anyway :)

An American Vampire Stiry - a nice relaxing vampire movie with Carmen Electra. Cheesy, not very special, but OK. Just don't watch it for Carmen, she's not very often seen in this movie.

I Drink Your Blood - B-movie with satanists going mad after being injected with rabies. Grindhouse fun!

The Sweet House of Horrors - I'm a Fulci fan, but this one disappointed me. Only a tiny bit of gore, and it was done on a shoestring.

Teenage Zombies - misleading title: there's only one zombie, really. But then again, it's another fifties classic to sit back and relax with.

Watched a few movies yesterday; first up was the dreadfully shitty Resident Evil 3. It was a really shit movie, not only because it was terribly written and completely incompetantly healmed, but because quite clearly no one involved in the process has ever played a Resident Evil game which in terms of plot and acting (yes, honestly, the crappy plot and acting of the games) are vastly superior than this mess. This was such a bad movie; Wesker has to be the most retarded idiot in the world and the film had more in common with Attack of the Clones than it did any established franchise. That is why I have to assume its an adaptation of the Ubisoft pc port of Resident Evil; not a decent resident evil game  If someone gave me the money of any of the Resident Evil movies, I would completely erase any notion of these films and completely start again. It wouldn't be a remake, it would be Resident Evil. I'd use the remainder to pay for a gang to find, rape and kill Paul W. S. Anderson in the most horrible way imagineable.

After that shitfest I then watched the very enjoyable Fido. This stars Billy Connelly as a zombie in a world that's very much like the recent "Stubbs the Zombie" game, so much so that I'd be amazed if there wasn't a huge influence form that game. The tone, atmosphere and some of the setup is very similar. I actually think "Stubbs the zombie" would make an excellent movie; its funny, unique and got the whole protagonist as a zombie motif. Anyway, fido is a nice little film which stars Trinity and Billy Connelly in a world of domesticated zombies, controlled by a behaviour modifying collar that supresses the will to kill. Its light and fluffy, but with zombies. I enjoyed it; might be one i pick up on dvd when its cheap.

Finally I watched 1408, which was a very familiar haunted/one man terror fest. It was quite enjoyable but its been done so many times before, it has the whole insomniacs madness... being taunted by the supernatural force showing visions of the past and what not. Entertaining watch if not particularly new or refreshing. Ending was a tad weak and some of the scares are poor.

Yesterday I went to the theater with my gf to see "Control" http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0421082/

It's a movie about Joy Division and especially about the leadsinger, Ian Curtis. It's based on "Touching from a distance", the biography written by Ian's widow, Deborah Curtis. The movie is shot by Dutch photographer Anton Corbijn and in black and white, just like most of Corbijn's photographs.

I think it is a beautifully shot movie, the actors aren't well known and that makes the story more believable. They do a good job on portraying the band. I read some reviews that said the portrayal of English guys in the 70s was also very good, but I'll let the UK people judge on that ;)

I'm a big fan of Joy Division and I liked this movie very much. Lots of their songs pass by during the movie along with some other great music from that era (Bowie, Reed). The only drawback for me was that I had read Deborah Curtis' book already, so there were no surprises for me in this movie.

I was surprised by the fact that so many people in the theater didn't know jack shit about Joy Division (I guess they went to see the movie because they know Corbijn, or because they had read good reviews). For them the movie must have been quite a depressing experience, although I think Corbijn succeeded in making the subject, however heavy, bearable enough to have a pleasant evening.

I recommend this movie to anyone, but for Joy Division fans this is a must see.

Watched a few films yesterday.

Resident Evil 3, gotta agree with spud this was a pile of shit. Think Mad max and Day of the Dead and that's it in a nutshell.

Ring 2, disappointing, not a patch on the first one.(American remake not original one)

Decoy's, Juvenile high jinks, although i found myself laughing at some intentionally funny parts. Gonna watch Decoys 2 next.

I like both Mad Max and Day of the Dead, so I don't really get it why they get mentioned in the same sentence as moneymaker RE 3 :wacky:

Yesterday I watched

Vampire Vixens from Venus - a really hilarious movie with bad attempts to humor, aliens that transform into hot babes and a Frank Drebin act-alike. No vampires though.

The Crazies - good movie. Not real horror, imo.

I guess the fact it was just a rip-off of both of them, and they did it ten times better.
I happen to like them both as well, didn't mean i think there shit :wacky:

I watched the following three movies in the past three days:

1. Shapeshifter: omg the worst horror movie I have ever seen
2. The Omen: classic movie that is worth seeing
3. Project Vampire: low budget movie, but better than Shapeshifter

Each film was on a DVD.

Cashback (odd movie about a guy who works in a supermarket who can stop time....)

For a Few Dollars More (...so want a watch that plays that tune..)

Roadgames (..decent movie, with Jamie Lee Curtis playing "Hitch" again, and a dingo that turns out to be a dog.."

OK, I just got a little confused :D

I was searching for Vampire Vixens from Venus on this site, but the search turned out to be a "no results". I got the movie off BT, if anyone i interested I can bring it to the mule in two weeks or something.

Emanuelle e Francoise le sorelline - nice giallo, but the quality of the rip was disappointing. Very blocky all the way.

Vixen! - Russ Meyer movie, so there are many bog boobs, but also an attempt to a storyline about communism vs democracy.

Inseminoid - woman gets pregnant by alien and starts to kill off her team members. The aliens are rarely visible, which is a shame, but what's left is enough blood to enjoy this movie. I recommend some mind altering goodies to make it more "interesting".

Dario Argento's La Terza Madre, which came out in Italy just yesterday.
It's bad, bad, bad to the core. Focus on the words "eurotrash" "gore" and, eventually, "tits" to get some pleasure out of The Third Mother, just forget about Inferno and Suspiria.
Hell, i knew it had to be a train wreck of the movie even by just looking at the pics.
