OK, now it suddenly goes well w/ two dls (14 kb/s each). Is that a normal dl rate? The blindfold is also suddenly gone. Don't know why, but it's the first time since i got the new net that the low id disappeared.

Now one of the dl's disappeared again..

OK, so sounds like you have success. Yes, it will be slow at first until you build up credits on the network. ed2k downloads in chunks, so if 1 chunk finishes and you're not at the head of someone's queue for the next one, the download will stop until you are.

Spud explains it better here: http://forum.dead-donkey.com/viewtopic. ... 784#166784

Patience is a virtue with eMule. 'Gimme Gimme' and expecting instant, torrent-like speeds is not advised. ;)

It is a mule. It gets tired and wants to stop for awhile...

Try downloading about 10 or so very popular (well sourced) files... and see what happens.

DC++ hubs have some of the rarest horror films (I have a friend who gets stuff from there for me), but personally I find it too hard on the b/w. Its the only P2P I know of that doesnt let you adjust the b/w it uses & thus it forces you to turn off every other p2p youre using unless youre lucky enough to have T3+ or higher b/w & even then it chokes everything up.
I'll carry on as I was & let others bring stuff from DC.
