Yeah. It didnt work to start with coz of the old layout of the house. I found the oval box where the line comes in the house so wired straight into it & have an old telewest box that I could use as a plugin & once I was wired like that bingo, getting better speed than predicted... up to you

@absinth, If I were you, regardless of how much money you've been ripped off for you PC (& its not worth a 2nd hand Skoda) until you learn PC basics, seriously I'd wind your neck in coz you dont half make yourself look like a dork, but I've enjoyed it :googley:

american english is ALOTTT different from UK english.
i'm sure you said some things i didnt understand and i said some things you didnt understand.
somethings might have been taken in a different context then what they where ment by either person.
with all that said, its just straight rude to say "you've been ripped off"
i cant SEE your computer and you cant SEE mine.
so your comp might be worth 1/4million$ while mine might be worth 1/4thousand$.
i know what i paid and you know what you paid.
lets just leave it at that.

I Don't care how flashy your 'area 51' spec pc is, there is no way on this planet that you own 1 pc that is worth $20,000 as that is physically impossible & thus if thats what you claim to have paid for your "custom components" thats BS as is a 5gig memory stick (Go Research Binary)

We speak the Queens English here in England, not american but I assure you that after many years of talking to yanks you speak no diffrent to any of the others.

I never intended to piss you off when I first replied but after what I saw as your response, I left it to somebody else to reply (in this case Wargand) coz there is no doubt in mine or anyone else who knows what they are doings mind that you have not got the slightest clue about how a PC works.

Yes you have a great collection of rare stuff, but please dont do the arrogant american & talk bollox to us when we know you aint right & you know too. If you carry on like this, theres gonna be noone left whos ever gonna take you seriously. Your type come & go all the time.

So go research what overpriced lumps of money you allegedly put in your case & learn how the net works, I gave you a link earlier in this thread & when you understand it then we will talk again, until then... your ignorance amuses me (Tomb Raider)

Be* is ADSL2+ which can be interfered with by xmas tree lights aparently but xmas is gone & I never had that problem & as its only 3 month contract maybe its worth it to you to try it out?

The bebox is rubbish, I suspect like me you already have a good router so you simply turn the bebox into a modem & carry on as normal. The only thing is they dont GIVE you the box, its a loan & you gotta send it back when you cancel or they charge you £100 for a £30 piece of shit :o

I experimented when I first got it & can upload at 100k

I've got a modem router that works okay now (never used to) so I can stick with that and use Be's as a doorstop.

Okay, PM me the referral link or whatever and I'll think about it.

If only ISPs could tell you your up/down speeds before you sign up...

when i said one computer i meant it, what i didnt say is that its 5 towers hooked together to make one computer.
my one computer takes up over half of my 350sf bedroom(175sf).
if i had a spare room in my house i would turn it into just a computer room.
my powerbill went up 700$ a month after i plugged my comp in.
theres close to 500ft of electrical cords just for my comp.
my personal computer is 3 times as big as my county police officers computer.
my computer eats 'area 51' computers for snacks

its a bit complicated.
but short explination, lots of USB cords, lots of solder, a few 20guage power cords, a few jumpers and a few mem connects.
