Definitely the best mod I've ever had. My downloads are 20% faster then before, good friend slot support (I hated it in Sivka), very comfortable and nice, with many useful features. Hope it is stable - the previous versions of TBH weren't. If it is, I love it. And those friend slots compensate for the lack of community feature quite nicely.

However, I noticed one strange thing, namely - when I mess with friend slots, my downloads drop significanly and come back to normal after some time. Has anyone noticed this?

I'm using Ultra AMD version.

I'm using vanilla.

And about the friend slot activation slowing down downloads, yes I have that bug also.

What I found, Make your friend slots, close emule, then fire it up again.

Downloads go fine right away, and the friend slots stay.

Max I could get to stay like that were 12.

i think the friend slot works against you as if you check your statistics window it has ratio's per session with friend slots excluded.....so basically while you are uploading in slot 1 for the friend slot all that is transferred doesn't go on to your up/down ratio giving you less credits for download (i think) :(

Aaaaargh, it's crashed again. I don't know why, all those Blackhands keep crashing around twice a week. The only mods that were perfectly stable on my machine were sivka and athlazan. This sucks, I really like TBH.

On the forum they say there's a memleak that causes memory overload after some time. This woudl fit the pattern, it usually crashes after 1.5-2 days after launching, never earlier.

I never have mule switched off
and It doesn't crash - using Sivka 10b5 on emule 30b
It's working nice and I am not changing it now unless someone proves that there is better available..!

Using that VLC to check incoming files can seriously slow my comp down but I just close the prog with taskmanager (it's usually at 100 cpu usage) but once it's closed VLC down everthing is hunky dory

Craftee

Sivka is the most stable mod in the world, it never crashes on my computer, but I like TBH more.

No, because everyone keeps statistics only on how much he received and not how much he sent (it would be far too easy to cheat) so it really doesn't matter. The other side doesn't know if those bytes they're receiving are arriving through normal or special (friend-slot) channel.

kademlia is quite a nice client despite the huge ram usage I'm getting :)
Tis the new protocol implemented into emule, works pretty neat high download speeds and solid upload although inherently there will be extra overhead in this version.

BHM i installed so I can add new cat. and organise the downloads, then copy the ini file to official client :D

Btw, is it the proper name? I found at leas 6 versions - "kademlia", "kamdelia", "kamedlia" etc, even on the official eMule site.

I think I'll wait 'till it leaves beta stage.

unfortunately that's almost impossible to answer I'm afraid, I guess that's why so many mods exist.

I think sivka and athlazan are good mods. TBH has easily the best features but is very buggy.

Kademlia Emule finds sources very fast and you can get quite high speeds for single files, but there's no accurate way to check if any are faster than the other. General rule of thumb, the emule mod is no faster than the base it is built upon. The modders are forbidden to touch the protocol side ie. develop leech mods, and even then any tweaks will only give small download speed increase. Source finding abilities however I have noticed is better in sivkas than most others.

That's on the basis of the versions I've tried. I am currently using kademlia as stated :)

There is no "best mod"...it's whatever works best for you  .....we all have our opinions as to what is the best but if there was one ultimate mod we'd all be using the same one instead of making our own decisions :)

IMO The black Hand mod (v3b or v4) is "the best"...but thats my opinion not everyones :P

It's not VERY buggy. It has some bugs, but if you restart it from time to time it's stable and gives very, very high downloads. See above - some ppl are using it and experience no probs at all.

Sivka is very stable and also has decent features, although far from the newest TBH.

no buggy bits for me in TBH for a long time now :D i think any buggy issues are down to individuals PC's and not the actual mod performing badly
