Well, that wasn't too hard, was it? And since candy belongs to kids, YOU will get the chocolate bar! Make sure mascareiro brings me the beer, then you'll get your bar

Question about friendslots: I'm using the latest MorphXT and like I have posted before, I can't give friendslots away. Now it turns out I can give friendslots to ome, but not to others. For example, I gave one to tenorbass, but could not give one to BadBugs. What happened next was totally weird: tenorbass's download went from 18 kB/s to 350 B/s. When I removed the friendslot it returned to its former size. It seems to me that he will get the movie faster without the friendslot

There are a few mod settings that govern this. Have a look through the settings...

Reinstall it again. I can't give you a friendslot either. MorphXT allows you to have multiple friendslots & give a chosen percentage of your total upload bandwidth to them.

Checked the settings earlier already, thanks anyway karst. I'll reinstall it when Gestapos Last Orgy has spread well enough. House of Blood is out of my share now, I saw 27 sources for it. I upped 39.5 GB of it myself In a week.

What are good settings for connection? Mine looks like this now: Or are you guys talking about these settings? What should I change? As I usually don't know what I'm doing (read warning in screenshot), I left these at default.

Here are my settings. I am on a NAT so I left some of the speed for my brother. My internet speed 10 Mbit/s download and 1 Mbit/s upload. But in eMule you set it in KBytes, so you must divide it by 8 to get it in Bytes and multiply by another 1024 to get it in kBytes. The correct number for me is: 10 Mbit = 10 * 1024 / 8 kBytes = 1280 kByte/s download speed. Upload would be 1/10 of this: 128 KByte/s. So I "use" 50% of my upload bandwith and 64/1280 of my download bandwith (which is 5%). But this is all theory. In real life my download never gets near the configured limit (except maybe when I download something from Koffkongen...). PS: Compare the filesize and quality of your image to mine and you will notice that: 1. My image has better quality (= no noise near text) 2. My image is less than half as big as yours No offense here! But elchupacabra has posted such a nice "guide" on image file formats and I am sad that nobody seems to care about them.

I'd be surprised if you weren't strangling yourself just a bit by having your UL/DL unlimited and not having something like USS enabled. The capacities section doesn't limit. You might not be seeing as high of a download rate as you can get because of it. I can post a screen of my settings later...

@ RedVeil: yeah, the filesize is nice, I should think about that more often. I don't see what you mean by noise, though. I can clearly read what it says, so there's no problem for me.
@ karst: what do you mean, strangling myself? If I don't do anything else at my computer, I leave it at that. I limit the upload to 16 kB/s when I'm playing games online. I'd be very interested to see your settings and learn more about tweaking it into something better.

Quote: | Upload Speed Sense (USS) USS is a function to monitor the ping times of the connection and to automatically adjust eMule's upload according to this ping value. This ensures that the connection never cloggs and will try to keep surfing and online gaming fluid. It is recommended to keep the default settings. |
With this you may not have to set a limit to game. Sort of an automatic transmission for your upload instead of a manual. Let it change the gears for you. As for the friend slots... I can't see what your settings are in the above screen...

@ karst: these are the only settings I could find considering friends. The line which is incomplete in the picture, ends as follows: Global datarate (0kB/s = unlimited 1...3 kB/s = no zzRatio):3 What I also would like to know is where to teak the settings in a way I have for example 5 people uploading 20 kB/s instead of 20 people uploading 5 kB/s. Where can I change that? @ RedVeil: I posted a png now, it was mostly just laziness not making any different images but jpgs. You need to have MorphXT for USS (Upload Speed Sense). At least, that's what I think. When you have it installed, it's in the Mod options, under Dynamic Upload (see the second screen I posted in this thread).

I had a similar question once. Actually it was more related to the problem that the upload bandwith is not evenly shared for the users. One or two usually have 80% of the bandwith and the others are struggling to get anything at all. In XtremeMod it is the upload slot speed. Check my settings screenshot - it is the slider on the right side (set to 10.5). But it rarely does what it should. It should work like this: the higher the value the higher the upload speed for a user connected to you. So setting it to a lower level will result in more users with less speed, whereas a high value results in uploading to less users with more speed.

@Slayer, I've highlighted the bit you want here: Set at 40 like above, that gives your friends 40% of your total upload speed

It is now at 100, but I'm sure my friends don't get all my upload speed. I'll put it at 40.

OK, I reinstalled eMule (fucked it up real bad, btw. Did import too soon and now I have start all over with those downloads ). As soon as I see you guys in my queue, for example for Legion of the Dead which is gonna be posted tomorrow or the day after, I will add you as friends and see if I can give the friendslots again. I read in the Accion Mutante thread about Hide Overshare and Obfuscation. I can't seem to find them in my settings, so if anyone would be so kind to point them out for me, I'd be very glad.

Obfuscation: General Options--> Security--> Protocol Obfuscation General Options--> Server--> Miscellaneous
Hide Overshares: Mod options--> Morph Share--> Shared File Management

Thanks karst, maybe I/we should start a topic on what the best settings are? Some sort of guide? I found Shared File Management, but should I check "Selective chunk sharing"? Or should I fill in a number at "Overshares before hiding chunks"? What number should that be? Thanks for the support!

The two options work together. Enable one and set the other for the desired number. 2 or 3 sounds like a good number, but I've never used the feature. The best place to go for help has always been the official emule forum ( http://forum.emule-project.net/ ) and the help files ( http://www.emule-project.net/home/perl/help.cgi?l=1 ). Even the tool tips in the settings explain things rather well.
