A poll somewhat late but still interesting
poll won't allow a dozen options so I 've taken the liberty of picking 2,7 and 8 as one choice....no one I know votes for those ...then again.....
I voted 6.....dunno particulary why.......it was that time you see.....Jason was at his height of popularity.....HE AND SOLELY HE pulled paramount thru financial dire straits.....
all together now: ....I am teenage franken-stein...!!!!

I downloaded all because of Freddy vs. Jason. Never bothered before this film, because I was 100% sure this series is boring junk. And surprise, surprise, I did not err. Hope there will be no Halloween cross over soon or I have to dl this junk, too. Or why wasn't it a Friday 13th/Halloween cross over? Junk to junk and no wasted bandwidth

they are all pretty terrible, I think Freddy vs Jason is the best out of the series though.

i liked the first 4, after that they all went downhill. err, at least in my opinion. part 5-8 kind of just dares people to watch them with thier uber-suckiness, at least part 9 tried to entertain, part X sucked like the vaccum it was in, part7 isnt even worth the adjective it would take to emphasise its craptitude.
1,2,3,4, = ok

You have no taste, part 9 ranks as one of the worst movies ever IMHO monkeysmasher wrote: | 1,2,3,4, = ok |

err. part 9 had a quote that stuck with me and made it into my daily repetoir....(something along the lines of)...
interviewer:'mr. duke, what come into your mind when i say the name 'Jason Vorhees'?"
duke:' well, that brings me to mind a young girl, pushing a hotdog thru a donut'.

Yeah, took note of that one myself. How about this one from Part 7.
"Hey, I know... STAR MUMMY!"
I'm still waiting for the film to be made.

i block 7 from my memory. any series that throws in a teenage girl with psychic powers where previously there was none, it is bad bad mojo. i quit wanting to see f13th's after part 5, the scooby doo episode.
friday the 13th part 13, jason and the werewolves versus the vampire woman from scream 5, episode 1: the reckoning of Sarah

To be honest i thought that out of the suckiness of this series, Json 9 and Freddy vs Jason were actually better than the rest of the series. X is utterly terrible, the first one is generic tat, the rest mould into one long vast turd.
Unlike Halloween and Nightmare on Elm Street series, Friday the 13th started off terrible and stayed terrible. Halloween one and Elm Street 1 are quite respectable films in their own rights in contrast.

ah, of course the first one is generic now, it made at the dawn of the 80's slashers. not the first or groundbreakingly original, but i remember when it came out, it seemed to be the main force for making slasher flicks to be massed produced in the early 80's. it wasnt the first, nor the most original, but it was the most popular. ah, i dont know why i defend it, im not a slasher fan, but seeing the first few friday the 13ths are some of my earliest memories- and that killing people with an assortment of gardening/woodsman tools can be an entertaining way of life, and never never ever go to summercamp.

I voted Part 6
Unfortunatley from my teenage years I loved this one!
And still do.
Although maybe something to do with it being the only one ever aired on terestrial TV when it was Friday 13th.

Well, forgive me, but I love the 'Friday the 13th' 'Halloween' and 'Nightmare on elm Street' series Mainly because I gew up watching them!...and they also have great nostalgia value. For what they are, I think they're all quite enjoyable in their own way, and to me, Jason Voorhees, Freddy Krueger, and Michael Myers are THE 3 horror icons.
Regarding my favourite Friday the 13th, well first of all, it has to be one that actually features Jason Voorhees wearing his trademark hockey mask, so that rules out 1 & 2. So my favourite would have to be 'The Final Chapter' (part 4), 1. I thought was really good, 2. It starred Corey Feldman! and 3. It had Tom Savini working on the Makeup FX!
