The subject of THE TOWN THAT DREADED SUNDOWN is the mysterious hooded individual who terrorized Texarkana, Texas back in the forties and spawned one of the largest manhunts in US history. Five people were brutally murdered before the �Texarkana Phantom� disappeared forever.

THIS IS NOT MY RIP. This is Stetheboro's, got it from CM. Like he said, it's a VHS rip, and it can get quite dark at times.

This appears to be a rip from the Warner Bros. vhs which is WAYYY to dark. Not to mention the pan/scan job on this one ruins the whole film. The only way to see this film is to watch a remastered 2.35:1 version (which aired on a few pay channels, hint...hint...!)

If all that can be found is VHS copies, ATLEAST go for the Goodtimes VHS, it may be recorded in LP mode, but it's WAYYY brighter than this one!!!

The runtime for this is actually just over 90 minutes, the rest of the file is just blank tape.

Just wanted to say that there is a widescreen full dvd (unofficial ) release over at cg: http://85.17.200.9/details.php?id=19259
I asked for a Xvid rip of it and I'm sure someone soon gonna post it there....

Ummm...yes that is the one I just created there. What's the big deal, why is everyone so against a FULL DVD version? Don't you want the highest quality possible? An Xvid degrades it big time and then you won't have the cool menu and drive-in trailer that is conatined on the DVD...

Well, firstly it's not true at all that xvid degrades big time (check High Quality section of this site), and secondly xvid/divx are meant in first place to save bandwidth keeping quality (almost) up to par. For people like me, with permanent lowID, FULL DVDs are totally out of reach, because it takes ages for us to get them, and most of the times sources disappear before finishing them. So, despite the excellent job you may have done creating this DVD, I prefer xivd and hope you or anyone else will rip this movie to a smaller format.
