If it's 1 second during the entire video, you can easily fix that with Nandub (comes with GKnot) for instance.

Yup, it is. I have Nandub, opened the video file into it and I see an option "sync to audio" which is checked. What do I need to do in order to make it happen? I can't find any other options about synching audio.

go to audio>interleaving and set the appropriate delay, then repack (direct stream copy for audio/video, then save as)

Generally if it is running 1 second behind you put 1000 in the box..then adjust accordingly by blocks of 200 or so...at least that is how I do it. :wink:

Hey, I finished ripping! The final settings with the 6of9 did it. Thanks elguaxo, for all your help.

About synching the audio: it was easy indeed. I guessed it would be a little less than a second, and boy, did I hit the nail on its head with 750 ms! Now the AV are perfectly synchronized. Are there any settings in Nandub I should change back after having done this?

I don't know, I'm asking you :D

I was just asking, because I use Nandub only for taking screens. My guess would be I can leave it unchanged, but to be sure, I asked.

Do you mean the interleaving? I doubt that this is stored by the application for further processing. You may check it out by simply starting the progie and looking at what the setting is now.

Twice in a row now, GK freezes my PC because of an error during encoding. It makes a first pass and just before starting second pass it freezes. The GKnot.log looks like this:

Code:

5:57:16: Finished  Xvid - First Pass: Duration: 2 hours, 32 minutes, 28 seconds.

5:57:17: Now encoding at 1144 k(=1000)Bits/s

Adding this script to C:\PROGRA~1\GORDIA~1\VirtualDubMod\LastJob.vcf :

// $job "XviD Second Pass"
// $input "F:\Video\Rip\VTS_01_1.avs"
// $output "F:\Video\Rip\VTS_01_1_Movie_1.avi"
// $state 0
// $start_time 0 0

VirtualDub.Close();

// $endjob

5:57:17: Started   Xvid - Second Pass: F:\Video\Rip\VTS_01_1.avs

It says "Started Second Pass" but it never actually starts doing it. GKnot warns me about this: "Number of counted frames differs from settings!" What can I do to solve this problem?

I've never seen this before.

Does this help? http://forum.doom9.org/archive/index.php/t-58285.html

Maybe you can post all specs of the input material (NTSC, interlaced, ...).

I've seen it during frameconversions or IVTC. Post your encoding script. This reminds me that I must finish the MeGUI guide!

Thanks for the link, chupa, but in their example the encoding came out OK, whereas my encoding didn't even finish.

The suggestion at doom9 that it must have something to do with the IVTC can be true, as the source is an NTSC DVD.

@ elguaxo: by encoding script you mean the avs, right? It looks like this:

yes! and... you are IVTCing
Code:
Telecide(order=1,guide=1).Decimate()

so that's causing the "Number of counted frames differs from settings!" error. The last time I used GKnot was 4 years ago, so I don't know what to do so that it doesn't stop the whole encoding process.
