Vampire Happening - nice gothic horror from the 70s. Atmosphere was a bit lacking, but I did like the person mixing with the baroness and the vampiress. The vampires looked mostly very fake, except for the most important ones. The comedy part is a bit dull, but I did smile a few times. Mildly recommended.

The Stuff - yes, really liked this one! The goo put in small buckets for the Americans to eat is a nice "monster" and contains a nice message too. The main character is kind of elegantly arrogant. I loved the scene where he persuaded the army commander to participate. And maybe I missed it, but I was a bit puzzled by the fact that he and the main female character were lovers all of a sudden. He offered her a job, yes, but that doesn't mean anything in the love department, right? No, it wasn't a job like that... Like I said, nice enjoyable film, recommended.

I forgot to post about some films I saw earlier:

Nightmares - girl is sort of possessed and knows it. She wants to hide it from the outside world but has trouble making friends and starting relationships that way. Meanwhile, people get murdered. I thought this one was quite dull, pretty forgettable movie. One or two killings are noice, but that's not enough to hold up this film. By far.

Project: Metalbeast - yay, hilarious monster crap! Military guy and scientists want to create a werewolf with a metal skin. Of course everything goes wrong. Military guy injects himself to become the monster, haha. Dumbass. I really enjoyed this one, it had a lot of stupid stuff in it and I laughed out loud a few times.

Paranormal Activity - a kid in class told me I should watch this, as this was "the scariest movie he ever saw". I did yesterday. I was in for some scary ghost stuff, but I got some sort of indoor Blair Witch Project film. Which, like BWP, was not scary at all. There was exactly one moment in the film which could count as scary enough and that is so close to the end that this film could have been 5 minutes long instead of almost 90. All other moments which were meant to scare the audience only raised expectations and then not fulfill them. So, sorry kids, this is not the scariest movie I have ever seen. In fact, it was one of the more boring ones.

Flick - after having read the synopsis, I didn't think of the possibility that the guy from the 50s would come back as a zombie, but he did, so I was pleasantly surprised. This zombie is out to murder the bullies who bothered him back in the 50s. He can do so because music from the 50s vitalizes him. Weird and funny enough to sit through, recommended (a little).

Agreed. I think those types of films need to be as hyperrealistic as possible to pull off the whole found footage thing. I had a big problem with the fact that the female character wore a bra to bed every night with a shirt. I don't know any women that sleep with their bra on while in the comfort of their own home... fail...

The Blare Witch Project was the same. Who would be fishing in a fast running stream with a fucking floater?

Little Devils (The Birth) - nice low budget B-movie with a lot of SBiG stuff in it. Guy makes mini-gargoyles, they kill for him with several weapons (gas, arrows, guns, etc.). In the meantime his neighbour, who is a porn writer, is falling in love with a poledancing girl. If you like bad movies, you have to watch this one. I laughed a lot!

The Abomination - great gory bullshit to entertain you for a night. A woman has a tumor and when she coughs it up, it starts to live its own life. The son of the woman gets sort of possessed. Low budget, lots of repetition, slow paced, even slower dialogues, this flick has it all. If you anna see it and don't want to get spoiled, you have to skip the first 5 minutes, as they contain all the gore in the entire movie and will be repeated later. Recommended if you liek bad movies and if you're a gorehound.

Razorback - the rip I got was uncut, and my DVD is cut, so I watched the rip. Sometimes I had trouble understanding he Australians, but apart from that this movie is real nice. I liked the landscapes, the people in the movie, and the razorback is awesome. You get to see enough of him to keep you interested. Recommended.

Let My Puppets Come - well, if you wanna see something weird, watch this. It's a 40 minute pornmovie with puppets. Almost no real persons in front of the camera, but a lot of hardcore action with dolls. Which can be very gross, too. Only for weirdos.

Movieday yesterday. Note that my reviews are about my DVD collection now, if you read something interesting, post a request so I can rip it for you.

How To Make A Monster (1958) - the last one of the Arkoff Film Library which I hadn't seen. Famous story, so no surprises, the make up looked great. Since I have seen this movie I know that "Creaturealm part 2: from the dead" is a very sorry ripoff of this film. This one is a nice classic, something to watch while eating dinner or something.

The Lost World Vampires - this DVD contains two episodes of some kids series. Therefore I couldn't follow any storyline about the main characters. Also, the first episode doesn't contain any vampires, just a demonic shaman. It was boring and stupid. Maybe I'd have liked it when I watched this 25 years ago.

Leprechaun 2 - one of the better Leprechaun movies. It's on par with part 1 and far better than later installments. The leprechaun even makes some good jokes this time. If you're looking for a fun horrormovie, puick this one. If you have doubts on which Leprechaun movie to pick, pick nr 1 or nr 2.

Snuff Movie - I had mostly read very bad reviews of this one. I don't really understand them. I think this movie is very OK, not a real good one, or outstanding or anything, but good enough to watch through to the end, maybe evn give it a rewatch. It's about a guy who wants to make a snuffmovie, and therefore he hires some actors. Then the killing starts. Is it real or not, that's the question you have to ask yourself: is Boris Arkadin a director, or a sick murderer? I liked this part of the plot. I was even a bit disturbed by the scene in which the actors are gonna torture each other. I really felt for the slut who got WHORE tattooed on her forehead and black lines around her eyes and mouth. Then the revenge part, it was great as well. I recommend this one.

Hell Asylum - weehoo, a genuine Full Moon fun horror flick! Some bogus reality TV show starts filming five women (most of them quite good looking ones) in a hauinted house. The one who makes it until morning gets a million dollars. But, like I said, the house is hanuted. The rest is all guessable and this movie is far from oroiginal or anything, but I really enjoyed watching it. Maybe it was because of the babes, maybe because of the tricks of the director of the reality YTV show, I don't know. It's a plain and simple, straightforward horrormovie that was great fun to watch. Recommended, except for when you want to see something really good or original.

Spiders 2 - "OMG, these spiders look so incredibly fake!" is a line which could easily be inserted into this movie, 7 to 12 times and then not be superfluous. The storyline is very weak, but the action between the people on the ship and the action with spiders is cool. Well, cool enough. I have seen better. Nothing much special about this. It's a one-time watch.

Scarecrow - "So scary, you'll laugh your ass off" says the cover. Well, it wasn't really scary, and I didn't laugh my ass of. I had fun watching this film and I did laugh, but my ass is still there. It's just not THAT hilarous. Guy gets picked on by, well, everyone. He then dies and a scarecrow starts to live with his spirit inside. He then murders anyone who has done him wrong in the past (which is, well, everyone). Sadly the best killing is the first one, the others are more boring and get dull over time. On one occasion, there is some sort of struggle between the spirit of the boy and apparently the spirit of the scarecrow which is more evil. A hame that this internal struggle didn't get elaborated more, it would have been interesting and would've made this film a lot better. Right now this is mindless fun, but as it says, it is still fun.

Dracula III legacy - bwegh, this was crap. I really, really don't believe a half vampiric priest is gonna hunt down Dracula who is portrayed as a bored old man who wishes to die. But still the director of this flop wants us to do believe it. ome nice vampire hunter action, but it doesn't save this flick. I'd rather watch a vampiremovie which doesn't make the mistake of pretending to be a sequel to Dracula. Bin this.

Black Christmas - wow, good movie! I'm not so much into serial killer/slasher stuff, but this one is cool. The killer is a really disturbed man and the phonecalls are quite scary. The atmosphere is caught nicely. John Saxon always puts a smile on my face, it doesn't even matter in what role he is. The director kept me in the dark about who the killer was and he did a good job on that. Recommended!

The original, from the 70s. Atmosphere was great!

Yesterday I watched:

Silent Night Deadly Night 2 - bwegh, the first 35 minutes are a rerun from film 1 and then the rest of the film is some bleak copy, with another guy acting out as the killer. Very boring. Some obvious mistakes made me smile, but that's it. Skip this.

Malibu Express - this is the oldest of the Bullets, Bombs and Babes collection I made earlier. It is noticeable, as this movie tries to be a serious action/thriller flick and the babes are not overly present (except in one scene). In the later films Sidaris makes them show off T&A much more frequently. The private eye in this one looks a little like Tom Selleck, which made this movie a tad more humorous, but all in all this was kind of, well, old-fashioned.

Event Horizon - the best film of this evening with ease. This movie makes every minute count, no time is lost and we get into the adventure very fast. The effects and the lighting are great, the acting is good, Sam Neill is an outstanding horror actor, and who has ever seen Fishburne fucking a role up? So, I enjoyed this obne thropughly. I'm sure most of you have seen this one already, but if you haven't go watch it. Tonight. (This is a recommendation.)

Hellraiser 5 Inferno - well, what to say. Someone at imdb wrote: It is more of a psychological terror than a slasher film, which is true. The horror part is very small in this one and that is what I didn't like about it. The psychological side is a bit more elaborated than in earlier attempts, but this being the 4th film I wasn't looking or psycho stuff, but for gore. And I didn't get too much of it. So it is likeable, but not so much horror.

Exorcist II: the heretic - weird film, with a lot of hypnosis. Doesn't have a lot to do with its predecesor, which is a shame. Cinematography is nice, but the storyline is too far fetched and only the endscene reminded me of the atmosphere of the first film. So, nothing much. I'm sure you can find something better to watch for two hours.

The Cottage - yay, I really liked this one! Very funny, the "what more could go wrong?" kind. And it does go terribly wrong. I recommend this one to everybody: witty, good acting, nice chick. The only drawback was the bad guy, he looked totally out of place.

P2 (2007): A girl working in a huge business building (with several parking floors - thence the title P2 = parking floor two) is terrorized by the security guard at Christmas eve. Rachel Nichols is pretty an her acting is nice, but the movie is shit. It is too predictable and boring. Wes Bentley is real bad cast as the psycho security guard.

Reindeer Games (2000): A prisoner is released and takes the identity of his dead cell mate to hook up with his beautiful girlfriend. The girlfriend's nasty brother wants him to help them robbing a casino. But nothing is as it seems and there is a bigger plot going on in this excellent action thriller. Ben Affleck and Gary Sinise guarantee a great movie.

The Strangers (2008): A couple wants to spend the evening in the house of one of their parents. Suddenly a three headed robber team wearing child masks turns up and is trying to kill them. This movie is so bad and stupid that you have to laugh about it. There are some nice scares, but so many irrational moves that suck. (For example a killer notices that the girl wants to call for help. The killer smashes the radio a couple of times and let the girl run away, just to spend another half-hour looking for her in the dark again. Another one: the girl tries to flee and is injured while running in the dark forest. You can see one of the killers right behind her and then the killer is gone. Suspense gone.) Don't watch this crap.
