Hell no! I just gave up on it, unlike you I don't have the patience to endure an entire shitty film and this one needed more boobs to keep me interested.

Walking The Dead - a washed up reporter goes to China to get a weird stopry for the Sunday column. He hopes to redeem his career by doing this, but when he arrives in the village, he finds out that it isn't just a story: there is a real killer loose! Together with a woman from the village he starts looking for her missing daughter, in the meantime trying to write a piece, but that piece becomes less and less important as things develop. This story is told in the flashback way, which is quite nice. Also, the walker (the guy with the axe) is genuinely creepy. Atmosphere was quite scary at times. Acting is OK to good, best parts played by the walker and the mother. Best film I have seen in a (long) while. Highly recommended! About the rip: I watched the LKRG rip and it was very badly (or not) deinterlaced), so there was a lot of combing, which annoyed me while watching. So if a better rip comes out, grab that one.

Spring Break Massacre - BAM! Down to earth. After having seen Walking The Dead, this was pretty vulgar. A father goes off and his daughter has a sleepover with friends. Her creepy neighbour walks around the house all the time, scaring the girls a little. Some guys are around too and they scare each other, the guys and the girls. There is a lot of seminudity in this one and two of the girsl were really hot imo. Somewhere in the film the killings start and of course I guessed who it would be. In the end, it turned out I was right. A pro of this film is that it isn't too long, but there are many, many cons: acting (especially the facial expressions of the lead girl: how exaggerated do you want to look?), storyline, atmosphere, etc. A brainless fart of entertainment. I had a good time enjoying it, but please don't think and just check out the girls. Just mildly recommended.

very strange movie. Not cause of plot, but mainly cause of...how this movie is itself :) There are really lame parts, but also, imo, really good parts. So maybe they could done a lot better movie, but they tended to keep that paranormal activity spirit? Cameras, quality, etc are better - not so cheap you say?:). Some effects are good, some not really interesting. I really liked the episode in that "The Further" - it had in a moments a really good atmosphere and enviroment. The film is about
Spoiler:
astral traveling
. I didnt like ideas like this that much. And what about the guys from Saw? i dont know... maybe the "demon" itself :D star wars+sawclown :D
What those guys dont like - are those
Spoiler:
happy endings
- and :beerchug: them for that :)
So, not really recommended. But maybe you should watch it once.

Dark Fields aka The Rain - David Carradine is on the cover, but his role is not so big in this film, which is a good thing, as Carradine is really over the hill. This was actually a good film, I really enjoyed it, There were some scary moments, the acting was good. Suspense was created by not showing evcerything from the start, also a good thing. The story is set in a village called Perseverance, and it plays out in three different time eras, which are connected by the same theme: a curse whoich cause people to dry out and die if they don't do anything about it. What that is, is something for you to find out. Recommended, if not highly.

Sugar Boxx - modern WIP movie with a lesbian theme going on. Filled with all cliches you expect to find in a WIP movie, it is about a reporter going undercover to find out what is going on in the Sugar Estate Prison. Well, it is what you probably think right now. There is some violence which I thought was a bit out of touch with the rest of the movie, because the rest is so lesbian-themed, with female sweettalk going on all the time, etc. In a way, this was a chickflick, although it takes a certain type of chick to enjoy this. I can't recommend this, If you want to see WIP, there is tons of "better" movies out there.

Sick and the Dead - nice little low budget zombiefilm. Image looks bleak (desaturised) and a lrage part of the film plays out in the woods, not a very typical place for zombies. But, these things aside, it was quite nice. I had read positive reviews on this one and I agree with them. Simple, but efficient. Go check it out, recommended.

From Beyond The Grave - horror anthology with four stories connected to an antique shop run by Peter Cushing. The first sotry, about sme ghost in a mirror, I liked best. It was eerie in atmosphere and you knew what was going to happen, but still it was kind of uneasy to watch it. Great short story. The other stories were nice too, but not as gripping as the first one, imo. A very enjoyable watch, kind of a "good old days" feeling over it, highly recommended!

Mandrake - meh, a "jungle" monster made of cgi hunts down science teams while a greedy guy is after a dagger which holds supernatural powers according to the natives. A whole lot about this movie is bad. Apart from what I already wrote, the natives are a mix of Aztecs (human sacrifice), Mayans (hieroglyphs) and jungle tribes like the Yanomami (bodypaint and general look). The "jungle" is a forest somewhere in the US. A lot of continuity goofs, like the famous "we get into the water and when we climb out we are dry". In a way, the story could have been something, but this cast and crew just don't cut it. It is hard to sympathise with one of the characters. I read this was a SyFy film, and that did surprise me a bit, as those are usually superbad. This one is just bad.

Transylvania 6-5000 - funny movie! I had a great time watching this one. It has a star cast, with Jeff Goldblum, Ed Begley Jr., Geena Davis, Jeffrey Jones and Michael Richards (Kramer from Seinfeld). It is fun because Goldblum and Begley Jr have to find out what is true about a monster story from Transylvania, and Begley is very enthusiastic and thinks there is a mystery behind every corner, while Goldblum is very cynical and skeptical about it. This gives some good laughs. It is more a comedy than a horror, though. It has a horror atmoshpere, but nothing really scary is going on, only a bit if suggestion. As a comedy though, it is a success, imo. Recommended.

Ninja Cheerleaders - listed as a comedy, it could easily be an action flick too. It is very two dimensional. Three nice looking girls are ninjas and cheerleaders and they want to get into Brown College. They need money for that and they are go-go dancing to get it. When the owner of the stripclub they're working at gets kidnapped by the mob, they have to make choices: save him, do the dance finals which will get the money they need, oh, and they have to cheer at the ballgame too. Scenechanges are accompanied by shots of ninjas, naked tits (almost everytime the same ones) and cheerleading. They do this everytime so it gets a bit annoying. A lot of fighting goes on and in the end all works out. Setup of the storyline was nice, but, like I said, very two dimensional.

ZombieChrist - ugh, wtf happened? I have watched this and I live, good lord! Mmm, where to start? OK, I found out this is not the first "film" I have seen from this guy Bill Zebub (haha, lame nick), I already had seen The Worst Horror Movie Ever Made and that could have been an indication. The first ten minutes are naked girls doing some sort of dance in the woods. Then, after that, we get to see a skeleton which is supposed to be Jesus and he rapes girls and sucks something from them (their souls or something) in order to get resurrected. The skeleton is real bad: you can see the wiring all over and when it is "walking on water", you can easily spot the threads it is dangling from. There is a lot of full frontal nudity, although there isn't any real porn action (not that I mind). I used the ffwd a lot. There is some nice (metal) music in the soundtrack (for example My Dying Bride and Anathema), but it doesn't fit the film. At times there is a very loud metalsong so the dialogue gets drowned, and at times there is no music at all. About the rip: the LKRG rip has many flaws, it has huge black bars, it is very blocky and it runs for 111 minutes whereas the movie is only 89 minutes long. The rest is filled with trailers and clips from other makings of Zebub. This is only for diehard bad moviefans who don't mind it is waaayyyyy over the top.

Dr. Terror's House of Horrors - another nice anthology, this one is from 1965 and it stars Christopher Lee, Peter Cushing and Donald Sutherland among others. There are five short stories, and this time I liked the last one best. It has a nice twist, whereas the others are a little less cleverly made up. Overall I liked From Beyond the Grave better, I think that has to do with atmosphere, and maybe because there the first story was gripping me. Still, this one is a good movie and you should watch it if you get the chance. Recommended!

Trannies With Knives - for some reason I was thinking this would be some Rabid Grannies like film, maybe because Grannie and Trabnnie sound the same, I don't know. Well, it is a transvestite revenge film. All good looking chicks in this film are guys, actually, and they do shows and stuff, until one of them gets beaten up. They go get revenge, but it turns for the worse. The guy has a baseball bat and some friends to help him out. Still the trannies are coming back. And this time their revenge will work... The film tries to be grindhouse, and again, it is overdone. Don't put stuff in like "Please be patient while we change some reels" because it is unrealistic and not funny. Just leave it at some crackling and that's it. The rip is very blocky, btw.

The Bloody Judge - the best Franco film I have seen so far. Here the torture and nudity are obviously subject to the story instead of the other way around. Only one scene is totally misplaced, this is where Franco slipped and fell back in his old habits. The rest of the film tells a story about England in 1685 where there is chaos and rebellion. A supreme judge sentences people to death by the hundreds, so he becomes a target for the rebels. We get to see trials, interrogations with torture, battles between the king's army and the rebels (including cavalry charges and cannons firing - clearly there was some budget involved in this one) and Christopher Lee as the judge. Great acting and atmosphere. Recommended, if not highly.

Pandora Peaks - this is the totally different side of the spectrum of film. What a waste of time and effort. What you see is Pandora Peaks wiggling her tits in the camera all the time, some shots f scenery, some shots of Meyer and his camera and some shots of a German girl wiggling her tits. What you hear is the lifestory of Pandora told 3 or 4 times, and the story of Meyer's career. It is extremely boring. I skipped scenes altogether just to see if something was gonna happen at all. My hope was in vain. Total trash, avoid like the plague if you want to spend your time usefully.

House of Blood - wow, cool! This film was so, so, I don't know. It made me have the feeling I had way back when while watching my first horrors. The threatening atmosphere, the ultra violence and the gore, it all added up. I really enjoyed watching this one, it was great. In short: a bus with prisoners has an accident and the prisoners escape. They encoutner a doctor, which is good because one of them is shot in the arm. The try to find shelter in order to let the doctor operate on the arm, but the shelter they find is not really shelter...
There is some cleverness in this film too, it is not superintelligent, but it has this air over it which makes it feel like 70s or 80s horror. Highly recommended.

Frankenstein Must Be Destroyed - Peter Cushing stars as Baron Frankenstein who has picked up where he left off: transplanting brains. But, to complefe his experimens, he needs a formula owned by a fellow scientist who is mad now. So, an elaborate scheme is executed by Frankenstein in order to find the formula. For this he kills over and over again, or lets it be done by others. He blackmails a young doctor and his fiancée into helping him, but they will find out that they should have stayed away from him,. The fiancée looks nice, btw. Good story, atmosphere was a bit lacking for a Hammer, imo. Not bad, but could have been more gripping. Still a good film, recommended.

Finders Keepers, Lovers Weepers - it seems I have the worst Meyer behind me. This one had a storyline, something which is quite fundamental to a movie, imo. It is about a couple cheating on each other while in the meantime some criminals are after the safe in a club. There are naked tits in this one and there are many sexscenes too, but it is not overdone. Music is cool, acting is OK. This was quite a nice Meyer movie, storywise one of the better.

Let's Scare Jessica To Death - a woman suffering froma trauma moves to the countryside with her husband. When they arrive, they find out that a woman is living in the house they want to inhabit. She seems nice, so they let her stay. Soon enough, however, they find out that this woman is not your everyday person, she somehow directs the town's people and maybe even more. Jessica starts to hear and see things and her husband thinks she is falling back into her traumatic experience. This all doesn't help and now Jessica has to fend for herself against the supernatural. It is a bit of a weird film. Pace is slow, even though the film doesn't have a very long running time. Atmosphere is kind of eerie, but not enough, imo. It is not scary enough. After some encounters between Jessica and the supernatural, they become somewhat predictable, I only got scared (a little) once. Still, it is a good film. Mildly recommended.

The Dead Hate The Living - low budget filmmakers encounter a dead body on a location where they are filming illegally. They decide to use the body, but then they unleash an army of the undead. Funny and cool zombieflick, like I used to enjoy them in the early days. The zombies look cool and act accordingly, when they start coming (I must say I had to wait a little too long, imo) they are not many, but they become a large group eventually. Some funny moments with props from the movie in the movie, a pretty original way to get past the zombies, a nice looking chick and a cool zombielord from the past. Recommended, if not highly.

R1 night:

Women's Prison Massacre - not your everyday WIP movie. I was happy to see Claudio Fragasso on the creditss, as I'm a fan of his work since Troll 2. In this movie I expected a jailbreak by the women with a lot of violence and dead people (the Massacre in the title), but it turned out to be some hostage drama-like movie: Laura Gemser and the warden are kept hostage by a group of male criminals who were transferring through the women's prison. They kill several and the police also kills several people. The ending is like you would expect, with something for the good guys and something for the baddies. If you want to see WIP, better skip this one, it isn't so good.

The Brain That Wouldn't Die - sort of Frankenstein themed movie, about a scientist who keeps the head of his wife after she got fatally wounded in a car accident (that was one weird accident btw), in order to make her anew with the body of someone else - yes, it is also pretty weird that he only takes the head and not the rest of her body. While she is in the lab, she befriends a monster which is behind a locked door and they make a plan for revenge together. There are some gory scenes when the lab assistant loses his arm to the monster. Yes, a great deal of this film is ismiliar to Frankenstein, it also has a classic horrorstory ending. Enjoyable enough, but not a great film.

Alice, Sweet Alice - nice slasher with a psychological twist. A kid gets killed in church and the family is upset, because it is unclear who killed her and they all feel unsafe. When other familymembers are attacked, Alice gets blamed by her aunt. This gives friction in the family, as Alice's mother blames her sister for not liking Alice, and in the meantime more people get attacked and/or killed. It can't be Alice alone, or can it? Nice story, I liked it. Good acting, nothing over the top. Atmosphere is OK, it could have been a little icier imo, more chilling. Usually I think kids in horrormovies are scary, and this time it wasn't really that scary. Still, a good movie. Recommended.

Night of the Ghouls - it takes a while until you can recognise Ed Wood as the maker of this, but when you spot the supposedly scary looking woman in front of some bushes, you know enough. Then the seance sequence is totally 200% Ed Woodian. The story is about medium named Dr. Acula (yes, very lame) who can resurrect the dead for loved ones to see them one more time. A policeman is on to him to expose this crooked business, but then there is always Tor Johnson, who wears cool make up this time. I always have a lot of fun with Ed Wood films, I love them. This one was no exception. It is not the most hilarious one I have ever seen, but it still entertained me a lot. Good closure for a nice night. Recommended for bad moviefans.

Forgot to post yesterday, so this is for two days:

Bloodsucker Leads the Dance - the title promises some vampirism or something related, but you won't get it. This is a murder mystery linked to the supernatural, a very nice giallo I might say. It all plays out in a castle on an island, and this seclusion adds to the story. A group of women is invited to be guests of the count who owns the castle, but when he tells the stories of his father and grandfather, who both murdered their wives, they become a bit restless. Atmosphere is great, although it gets hampered by the bad dubbing. The tone of the voice in several dubbed characters is out of place imo. Apart from that, this is quite a good movie, at least I enjoyed it. I guessed right about the plot, but there still was a surprise in it for me. Recommended.

Sgt. Kabukiman NYPD - somewhat stupid cop becomes superhero thanks to some Japanese spiritual crap. A corporate bigshot is the villain and the now superhero-cop must stop him. A load of fighting scenes with ludicrous superhero stuff, it spoofs some Japanese movies quite nice, bring us to the climactic moment where the villain will take over the world (of course, there we go again). Some funny stuff is included, but most of this film still got stuck in the "it just isn't it" phase. Yes, there is some gore, yes, there are some funny jokes, but other movies just do it better. So, nice passtime, this one, but I won't recommend it.

Vampire Girl vs Frankenstein Girl - weehoo, the makers of Tokyo Gore Police have made yet another fantastic J-horror absurdity! A shame about my DVD is that reading the backside totally spoils the film, but since you don't have to read the backside of my DVD, you can still go and watch it unspoiled. What I resented was the use of cgi blood and what I didn't like so much is that it takes very long for Frankenstein Girl to appear, but apart from that this film is hilarious. I really liked Vampire Girl and her tricks, the scenes without cgi blood are great. The final fight is really cool (this is what got spoiled by reading the backside of the cover). Recommended!

Shallow Ground - I was expecting to see some lame slashermovie, but instead I got an intriguing film about the supernatuiral. It was actually quite creepy too. A boy covered in blood enter a police station where the cops are packing because they are moving away. The whole town has become superfluous because of the completion of a dam nearby. Who is the boy? He doesn't talk and keeps dripping blood. The cops are trying to find out and they start to unravel a mystery of which the outcome stays unknown for a long time. I was guessing about it as always, but it took me a while to figure it out. Acting and atmosphere are great, some stuff was genuinely creepy. I had never heard of this film before and I bought it by accident thinking it was Shallow Grave. I'm glad I did. Highly recommended!

Prehistoric Women - male chauvinist film witha voice over who tells the story. Women break loose from men because the men treat them as slaves. After some time, they capture a few men in order to breed. But one man discovers fire and he masters all, so the women are back into their traditional role as housewives. All's well that ends well. I didn't believe my eyes, but it was true: there is actually an anti-feminist movie from the 50s. The film itself is rather uninteresting. Some scenes are B&W and some are colored, there are some sequences involving wild animals, but all in all this is quite bad. Oh, I almost forget to mention that I keep being surprised about prehistoric people living in the jungle and being white. Were that historically correct, I wouldn't have been typing this now, as we would have been extinct. Only for bad moviefans.

Demon House - aka Night of the Demons 3. It is a nice movie and I enjoyed it a lot but is also the least of the three Night of the Demons-films. For some reason I found the atmosphere more grim in this one, it was missing the humorous note that was always present in the background in parts 1 and 2. Still, it was a nice and gory experience and it is a good watch for almost everyone. If you're a big fan of parts 1 and 2 be warned, but you can still go watch this one as long as you don't keep your hopes up too high.

The Last Horror Movie - I had read about this movie, that after a few minutes it changes and then you get to see some grim report about a serial killer. I wasn't so sure whether I'd like it or not, but now I am. I like it. It is great. It is for some reason so up close and personal that you get the feeling you are conversing with him indeed. This feeling, like being there, holds out for the good part of the film. Sadly, in the end, it gets pushed juuust a little too much, blowing the end for me. The lead role is played very well by Kevin Howarth, a guy I didn't know before. The concept of the film, to make you doubt about what you are looking at (is it OK to watch this? what does that say about me?) is OK, but like I said, it gets pushhed a bit too much near the end, they should have stopped a few minutes before to make this movie even better. Still, recommended, if not highly.

They Came From Beyond Space - a mysterious scifi about aliens coming to earth in meteors and then taking voer some scientists who then proceed to build a rocket launch installation at a farmhouse. One of the scientists has a suspicion and goes to investigate. This film reminded me a lot of Invasion of the Body Snatchers and the director had seen that one, no doubt. Effects are quite good and not as goofy as in a lot of other scifi films from the 50s and 60s. Acting is good as well and the story is interesting enough. What was a minor nuisance was to see the scientist entering the compound built by the aliens and remain undetected for so long that it became unbelievable. Enjoyable, but too much a rip-off of Body Snatchers to be recommended.

Bloody Mallory - to my surprise this film was in French, so I wondered why they didn't give it a French title. The transsexual in the film is an American who can also speak French (at least that was what it sounded like to me - I just tried to find out more about this actor, but all sites turn up having no biography of this guy), all others are French. Well, enough bout that. The film itself is a nice joyride through action/horror land. Mallory looks great in her tight outfit and the demons look OK too, only thing was that it felt a bit odd to me to hear a demon speak French with that all too familiar hellish voice. This film reminded me a lot of BloodRayne and it wouldn't surprise me if Uwe Boll had seen this one before he started to work on his film. There is also some inspiration from Japanese anime in this film, especially during the first fight in the church. I enjoyed this a lot, it could have been gorier imo, there was too much fistfighting going on, but still I had a great time watching this. Recommended.

A Crack in the Floor - this one is easy to review. Story: there is a cabin with an underground shelter. In the shelter lives a guy with a youth trauma and everytime someone visits the cabin, the guy will kill that person. The end. I'm not exaggerating, this is how linear this movie goes. Of course there is not one visistor, there are many, but all the story does is repeat itself. The only thing I liked is the attempt to make the students lives look interesting (one of them also has a trauma, but we never learn what it is) and that one of the students has nice boobs. Oh, and Gary Busey.

Guns - it had been a while since I had watched a Sidaris film. Upon seeing this one, I recognised his style immediately, with a lot of chicks and hardware. Story is superflat as usual: criminal wants to take out cop. He loses. Explosions all around (they are smaller when close to a "good guy") and new weaponry from China spice this film up a bit (in Sidaris terms, of course). There was only a minimum of nakedness in this one, but there was also a very cool murder with the help of a remote controlled mini boat. Only for bad moviefans.

La Lupa Mannara - I have this one on a Raro Video release disc. It took me a while to find out its original language, as the disc contains English, French and Italian and the opening credits are in French. I'm sure that Italian is the original language, though. The English title is Werewolf Woman. It is about a girl who got raped when she was young and from time to time she relapses into this trauma, seducing men and then tear their throats out like a wolf. Doctors and policemen alike are gonna search for this creature and in the meantime more men die. Who is this creature, and where can they find it? Atmospheric piece of Eurotrash, I liked it a lot. If there is any interest, I can make a rip of it with the Italian soundtrack and English subs (I think there are only Englsih dubbed rips of this). Recommended, especially if you like Eurotrash.

Surprisingly. Girls, boobs, guns, fast cars, blood, satanic cult and a bull by the balls bar. Smells like grindhouse with N. Cage and "Mandy Lane".

Land Of The Dead (2005): An enjoyable zombie movie directed by the one and only George A. Romero. In this one the zombies are not as dull as they usually are. Instead they learn and adopt to their environment - or at least their "leader" does. Yes you heard it right, they actually have a lead zombie impersonated by an afro-american filling station attendant in this one. So they become sick of being slaughtered by the humans and decide to strike back by attacking the remaining citizens in a quarantined zone of a destroyed city. There's a jewish guy (played by Dennis Hopper) trying to domineer over the average population by using soldiers that are working for him. There's a group oy outlaws fighting for the survival of the people. One of them is Asia Argento, who joins the team after being rescued from a ring with two zombies fighting each other. Apart from some CG blood the movie is great fun to watch. Zombies are very well done and the actors are simply great. It's one of those movies where you cheer for the zombie killing the bad guys. I can truly recommend it.

Tourist Trap - good movie, I enjoyed it a lot. The bad guy is a crossover between a psychopath and the keeper of a wax museum. He does crazy stuff. A group of teens encounters him on their trip through the wild. Tanya Roberts (from Charlie's Angels the series) looks great in this one. I misguessed the killer while it wasn't even so hard, I think I'm getting old ;) Nice, creepy atmosphere. Recommended.

Zombie Chronicles - bad anthology with two zombie stories, bad sfx, thin storylines, bad acting, ugly looking video and nothing interesting to it. It is not even funny bad, although some effects are. Very forgettable low budget homemovie. Avoid.

Destroy All Planets - Gamera (a large turtle) gets brainwashed by aliens and he has to do what they say or they will kill the two boys they hold hostage. Kid's film with some useless monsterfights (they are introduced like this : "1968, Gamera vs the supersonic monster") and a thin storyline. Effects are what you expect from Gamera or other Japanese monsterfilms from the 60s. Nothing much else to say, I'd say avoid it.

Body Puzzle - more thriller than horror, even though the killer mutilates the bodies and leaves bodyparts here and there. Joanna Pacula plays a widow whose husband died in a motorcycle accident. When his body disappears from its grave and other people start turning up dead, she gets police protection. Will it be enough and will the police catch the killer? This is a straightforward killer story, but Lamberto Bava tried to make it complicated by adding some sort of plottwist which is totally unbelievable imo, and this fails miserably. Acting is OK, but the storyline is only intersting up to the point where the weird plottwist is introduced. After that this flick lost its credibility to me. It is a shame to see another Lamberto Bava film not bringing it home. I have only seen two films of him which were OK (his first two). Skip this and go watch Macabre or Blade in the Dark.

Wolfhound - a bad movie. There are no wolves in it. It is about an American family moving to Ireland to the roots of the husband/father. The village they live in now is special, because all people there are shapeshifters (yes, this is where things start to go wrong). They can become animals, but it isn't very clear why or for what reason. The father/husband is gonna try and write a book while he is in Ireland, but he gets confronted with his roots and he will have to choose between the animal inside him and his family. Illogical and farfetched story, mediocre to bad acting, much useless nudity (especially by the non-actress Julie Cialini) and an anticlimactic ending. For bad moviefans only.

Cannibal the Musical - Trey Parker and Matt Stone give us some joy with this western story about a party of miners searching for gold in the Rocky Mountains and then ending up dead, except for one guy and he gets accused of murdering them all. In his prison cell he tells his story to a reporter. It is funny, but not as hilarious as some of the later works of Stone and Parker. Some of the songs are great, especially the lovesong for the horse, sung by Alferd Packer (played by Parker). As I posted earlier I don't like musicals, but Parker and Stone can make me sit through one and live. Well done.

Blackout - thriller about a guy being wounded in an accident and then getting plastic surgery. Just before the accident a woman and her three children were murdered. Did the guy do this? If so, then why doesn't he remember a thing? Sort of Jekyll and Hyde-like plot which isn't very exciting, although the makers of this film try and put you on the wrong foot. Not much action goes on in this film, it is mostly dialogue. It isn't really a bad film, but I can think of more interesting ones. If you like police mystery cases, this one is for you.

Laser Mission - one of the last unwatched movies in my 50 movies scifi box. To my (not so pleasant) surprise, this wasn't a scifi movie, instead it was a Cold War spy action flick with Brandon Lee. I wasn't in the mood for this kind of film and it turned out to be a bad film too. Bad acting, bad dialogues, bad action scenes and totally incredible storyline with cliche characters based on prejudice. A shame that there were not so many bad sfx, because then it could have made it into my top 25 of bad movies. So, a bad movie which didn't have too many laughs. Avoid.

Blood Dolls - nice atmospheric Charles Band doll film. A guy with a mask (he wears it to hide his head which is too small) has a clown housekeeper, a dwarf servant and a chick rockband who play when electrified. He also has some dolls he can give orders, and the orders are mostly to kill someone. In the case of this story, there are some people who crossed him and sort of stole money from him. Nice and campy, the killings start and the chick band plays some songs to it. After about an hour, we get to see two endings to this movie, which is cool. You can pick your own (I picked the first one). Recommended.

Le Bagman - this is not one film, it is a series of short films. The first one is called Le Bagman, hence the name of the DVD. I'm not gonna review all shorts, as they are much alike and there is sometimes so little time for a storyline I just cannot review it. Le Bagman is the longest film of all and it lastst for 21 minutes. It is actually one long fight between the bagman and a group of 23 thugs. Although this may sound like it isn't any good, it is all very hilarious. The filmmakers don't take themselves seriously, which is very important, and they overuse tons and tons of gore. Some of the other short films are good too, I liked Chez Tony Spaghetti, because it was a little different from the rest. There are also two animation shorts, but they didn't appeal to me much. The extra in the videostore had me cracking again. The backside of my disccover reads "ultimate party DVD" and I somehow agree. Don't watch this if you want to see a film, if you want to get scared or anything like that. Just watch this with friends and beer and you'll be fine. Recommended.

The Haunted Palace - nice classic with Vincent Price as a guy who goes and visit a castle (the palace form the title) he inherited from his great grandfather and then meets the spirit of this long gone familymember, who was burnt to death 110 years ago buy the villagers, because they thought he was doing black magic. Now, the curse must be broken, but is that even possible, with the spirit of the great grandfather around? Lon Chaney is co-starring as the caretaker of the castle. Effects are a bit dumb, but atmosphere is great and the storyline is interesting. Nothing scary, though, for that it is a bit too tame. Recommended, as it is a good film.

Child's Play - in my latent memory there are some pictures of Chucky, but I'm not sure where I ever saw them. Well, after having seen Child's Play, I can surely say it is from one of the sequels. This one was, believe it or not, totally new to me. I think it is a nice movie, but I had expected a bit more. Some scenes are intense or moving even, but there wasn't enough doll action for me. On the other hand, the fact that the doll is quiet a lot also makes the tension rise. I can see why this one became a classic among the fans. Chris Sarandon is great. Recommended.
