Dream Cruise - this MoH episode is the only one in season two directed by a Japanese director, just like Imprint in season one. It's about Jack, an American lawyer who has an affair with the wife of his most important client. When his client is in touble, Jack gets invited by him to join him on a cruise, with his wife. Not far from the coast, Jack and the woman notice that the husband knows about the affair and that he has plans to do something about it. In open sea, the husband starts using violence. Now Jack and the woman have to try and stay alive, so they can return to the coast. There are some nice twists in the story and there are even two subpolots, which is quite cool in such a short story, although one of the subplots is a bit dull. The one with the ghost however, is really cool and this ghost even has a scary moment. Had low expectations, but it was quite OK. Not the best I have seen, but certainly better than V Word or Valerie.

Sauna - Finnish horror set in the 16th century, right after the war between Sweden and Russia. A committee of a few Russians and two Finnish/Swedish brothers set out to mark the new border between the Russian tsardom and the Swedish kingdom. While on their way, the Finns encounter a man and his daughter. The man gets killed by Erik, the oldest of the two brothers and the daughter gets locked up in the basement. When they enter a large swamp, which is unin habited according to the most recent data, they start seeing styrange things: it looks like a woman is following them, When they enter a village, unknown unto that point, things really start to become very strange. It will be an arduous task to stay alive and to return to the civilised world. Very atmospheric film. Not scary, but beautiful. It had one scary moment near the end, but overall this was more of a fairytale than a horror to me. I would have liked some more horrorish action, as it was sometimes long before something supernatural actually happened. The story is good, though. Good film. Recommended.

Freaked - also not really a horrorfilm. The characters in this film are hideously mutated freaks, but they aren't sary or anything. The make up is great, it really looks like real deformities. The story is shallow and the humour is dull, I really expected a lot mroe from this film than I actually got. Especially Mr T should have gotten a more prominent role, and a more freakish one at that. I'm glad I didn't pay the higher prices I saw this movie for sale for and got it cheap instead. If you're looking for horror, or scary mutants/zombies, skip this one. I you want some kind of a weird comedy with freaks, go for it.

The Black Cat - a Poe story often made into film, this one. I had seen Fulci's adaptation already, so now it was Stuart Gordon's turn in his MoH episode. It starts out a bit slow, Poe is portrayed as an alcoholic and a bit of an obnoxious and annoying character. But as soon as
Spoiler:
the woman dies
things get going: the cat is getting on Poe's nerves and things start to get out of hands more and more. Poe tries to solve all these events by using extreme violence. And of course by consuming more alcohol. There is some real nice gore and Jeffrey Combs, Gordon's regular male muse, gives a top performance. The ending
Spoiler:
is a bit of a cliche (everything was unreal all the time), but it fits nicely this time
Recommended!

Case 39 - Renee Zellweger. I will always relate her to the BJD films, but now I have something else to think of when I hear her name or see her picture. That's better :) In Case 39 she plays Emily, a youth worker at Child Protection. She is drowning in work, but when her boss drops a file on her desk, (the 39th case she will be working on) she is fascinated by Lily, the little girl the case is about. She strongly feels that Lily is abused at home, but both Child Protection and the police can't find any evidence. Emily gives Lily a phone she can use when something happens to her. Later that week she gets called: she and her friend at the police rush tpo the house to find an apalling situation. Emily immediately asks for custody over Lily and her parents are sent off to an insane asylum. After a while, Emily discovers that something else is going on: will she survive the trouble she has stumbled upon? Zellweger is OK in this, there are weak and strong moments in her acting. The best castmember is the kid who plays Lily
Spoiler:
in the beginning I really felt for her but later I got a bot scared by her: great expressions!
The biggest drawback of this film, is that after a good 15 minutes I had figured out how this would go and I was 90% correct. But atmosphere and the aforementioned acting of the Lily character make up for that, at least a little. I enjoyed watching this, but since the surprise of the plot was totally lost on me, I'm not giving it the best recommendation.

Pro-Life - one of the best MoH episodes, of both seasons. Not surprisingly it is made by one of my favourite directors, John Carpenter. It's about an abortion clinic, where a young girl stumbles upon a few doctors, seemingly on the run from something. Shortly after, her father appears in front of the gate, demanding to see his daughter. He is a known anti-abortion religious fanatic with a restraining order around the clinic, but when he doesn't get what he wants, he goes in anyway. In the meantime his daughter finds out that her father is not the biggest threat to her health, it's what's insde her belly that seems to be more dangerous. Great acting, Ron Perlman as the father is great, and all the others deliver as well. Storyline is cool, a few plotholes and goofs here and there but I can forgive Carpenter for it
Spoiler:
the guard gets his skull half blown off and in a later shot we see only a hole in his skull, and when the father meets the monster, the monster apparently kills him but we never get to see that
The ultimate evil is portrayed in a bit of a childish way, that could have been better. But the brood is great and reminded me a bit of The Thing. Recommended!

Pelts - another favourite director of mine, Dario Argento, made this MoH episode. Because of his past, this one is being advertised as "giallo-esque", but it's more "esque" than giallo. It's more of a supernatural murder mayhem. Meat Loaf (a lousy actor if you ask me) plays Jake Friedman, a fur salesman, who gets an offer by a trapper played by John Saxon: a bunch of superbly shaped racoon pelts for a reasonable price. When Jake goes and gets them, he finds the trapper and his son dead. He takes the pelts to mak a coat out of it, because he there is a stripper he's in love with: he wants her to have the coat, so he can have her. While making the coat, however, it turns out that the trapper and his son weren't the first casualties of the pelts... Quite nice film, the feeling that everything must go wrong is overabundant, which is great, imo. Acting is not all that good, but John Saxon gives a great performance. Music is cool and atmosphere is to the point. The setting of the land of the racoons is fairytale like, I liked it. Not the best MoH, but certainly a good one. Top five, I'd say. Recommended.

We All Scream For Ice Cream - Tom Holland's MoH episode is quite classic supernatural slasher where a retarded guy selling ice cream and doing tricks dressed up as a clown gets killed by a gang of boys trying to pull off a prank with the ice cream truck. Years later, when all members of the gang are reunited in their village, they notice that their former friends start to die in strange ways. It seems like the ice cream clown is back to get some revenge. And he does so in a very "cool" way, so to speak. I had some real fun watching this, it reminded me of the great slashers from the 80s. Good job, Holland, especially since William Forsythe is a bit out of place in his role, not too convincing at all. Recommended.

Blood on the Highway - I expected a low budget splatterfest with bad jokes, but I got a pretty funny vampire comedy instead. Production value was higher than I thought, and some of the humour was actually funny. The story is simple, but because they keep it simple, it is also believable, and where many low budget productions fail because they aim too high, this film did what it had to do and it did it well. I read it was shot in thirteen days, but while watching, you never get the idea that it is a cheap film. The story is about a bunch of friends goijng to a festival. En route, they get lost and end up in a town called Fate, which is inhabited by vampires. They try to survive and stumble into the only house which has some humans left inside: an old guy with his superhorny oversexed wife and a younger inhabitant named Roy. Together they will fight the vampire population. Again: fgreat fun, this film. Recommended, maybe even highly.

Caltiki, il mostro immortale - Riccardo Freda and Mario Bava co-directed this monsterflick, in which they show they had seen The Blob and wanted to make an Italian version of it. Mixing some Mayan culture into it, it turns into a 50s scifi flick with no scares whatsoever. The blob molnster is ridiculous, the models which gets destroyed are obviously miniatures. Acting ranges from mediocre performances to ridiculous overacting. I laughed out loud various times, trying to fiure out how the writers ever thought that this could be scary. Highly recommended for bad moviefans, recommended for Italo fnas and all other people shoul stay away!

The Washingtonians - the last MoH episode of season 2, and since I had finished season 1 already, this was the final Masters of Horror for me. I didn't know Peter Medak beforehand, but this little film was quite nice and I had fun watching it. The story is ludicrous: in an inherited house, a family finds a document which proves that George Washington was a cannibal who ate the meat of virgins preferably. Since the family also consists of a ten-year old girl, the father is bound on getting the truth out and save his daughter. The Washingtonians, people who have been guarding this secret for ages, have a powerful clan now, with spies everywhere, so it will be a very difficult task to escape them.
Spoiler:
although the hilarious, Scarface-esque ending makes it look really easy ;)
OK atmosphere, enough gore (of mediocre quality) and a cool ending made this good enough to end up in the top five of MoH episodes. Recommended.

The Return of the Swamp Thing - Dr Arcane is still working on the serum to keep him young forever, but suddenly his stepdaughter (a wise ass Heather Locklear who looks natural in a film for a change) is on his doorstep. She has the perfect DNA for the serum, but when Swamp Thing saves her from impending danger, she falls in love with him, which isn't so strange considering her botanist background (;)). When Arcane finds out that Swamp Thing is nearby, he wants to destroy him and capture the girl, to complete his scientific work. Totally nonsensical film, with a lot of ridiculous mutants, like a man mixed with a lobster, a man mixed with an elephant (the side of his head is the head of an elephant, trunk included), etc., etc. Locklear looks actually quite sexy without tons of make up and Swamp Thing is the cool and friendly monster kicking other monster's butts. There is this other swamp monster which' role in the story is a bit un clear but it gives Swamp Thing the opportunity to strike some punches which is cool. Only real drawback was the acting of the fat kid, he was sooo bad. He totally got outacted by his counterpart, and I wish he'd died a horrible death. Oh well. You can't have it all. If you like nonsensical cult stuff, then you should go and watch it. If you're looking for a scare, or an intelligent film, skip it.

The Stand - I watched this mini series spread out over four nights. I had heard a lot of positive reviews on it, so my expectations were accordingly. The beginning of the story is cool, the outbreak of the virus is quick and although that guard must have been the dumbest person on earth, without him we wouldn't have had The Stand. Character development gets a real chance, but it also means trhat after the outbreak, the story progress is quite slow. Good things wre the acting, the story itself and some of the effects. Bad things were (some) dragging scenes, the lack of scares and gore, the other effects (some explosions were really fake) and the christian propaganda-aspect. That latter thing spoiled quite some of the enjoyment: imo everyone an be religious if he likes to, but please don't let it play such a big role in non-religious culture. The ending was a tad disappointing, but still this was one of the better mini series based on a Stephen King story.

The Land That Time Forgot - I had seen bits and pieces of this before, in a Night of Bad Taste, so I was curious about the rest of the film. Actually, this is a warmovie at first, with British sailors pitted against German submariners during World War One. Quite OK, but not what I expected. When they finally arrive in dinosaur paradise (it takes quite some time, over half of the movie), the bad moviefan can start thoroughly enjoying this crapfest. Expressionless pterodactyls, size changing plesiosaurs, synchronized moving Triceratops, you can see it all. There are also humans in various stages of evolution, because of course, the river running through this land is some kind of a timeline :wacky: Lots of explosions, useless violence and weird animals make this a must see for bad moivefans, so I highly recommend it to them.

Die, Monster, Die! - Boris Karloff plays a mad scientist who gets a visit from Stephen Reinhart, an American who is interested in the scientist's daughter, Susan. The scientist is very reluctant in receiving him and wants him gone as soon as possible. After having seen the mother, bedridden and hidden behind some veils, Stephen is convinced something is wrong in the mansion. Investigating together with Susan brings him to discover something terrible going on in the basement of the house. The first part of this film is quite OK, the villagers'attitude, the journey to the mansion, all quite nice. Pretty soon after having entered the house, however, the film starts to get boring and really uninteresting until the discovery in the basement. But by then, there are only a few minutes left. This film could have been better if it was only 60 minutes long, or maybe even less. Too dull to (re)watch, I'd say.

The People That Time Forgot - the sequel to The Land... The sequel story is believable (an expedition goes to Antarctica to find the people who got lost in Land...) and after having seen Land... you won't be surprised a lot by the ridiculousness of some stuff, like size-shifting dinosaurs. Sarah Douglas and Dana Gillespie provide for the much needed female beauty, and especially Gillespie gives this film a touch of sleeze, which makes it more interesting than Land... in that aspect. I had fun watching this, the skull palace was cool, the volcanoes were fiery and explosive and the monsters and the Japanese looking Nagar people made it all well for bad moviefans. Again, highly recommended to them!

It has been a while. I have moved house, and had to reinstall my home cinema, albeit only temporarily (gonna move again, in a few months). This is what I have seen in the past few weeks:

The Dunwich Horror – the old one. It's a pretty boring horrorfilm. It’s about the Whateley family and their doings with black magic. A young descendent of the family, Wilbur Whateley (a young Dean Stockwell) comes to the university to borrow the Necronomicon and in the meantime enchant Nancy Wagner. His aim is to bring “The Old Ones” back to earth, so they can rule again or something. All this leads to not very much, I almost fell asleep with boredom. It was quite funny to see Stockwell at this age, but I can’t imagine that Lovecraft had approved of this film based in his story.

The Monster That Challenged The World – typical 50s scifi monsterflick where 90% of the time you don’t see any monster and get some dull dialogue scenes instead. In the scenes where the monster actually does something, your so bad it’s good heart can jump, as it is really corny what you get to see. It’s hard to empathise with people who feel threatened by this ridiculous appearance, but I had fun. Recommended for bad moviefans, but you have to be patient: you only get some 15 minutes of monster action.

The Invisible Invaders – hilarious 50s scifi film with ultra slow aliens who are invisible because of a unique formula they use. They are of course trying to take over the world, but they do so at a laughable pace: even a dimwit could have stopped them. There is a nice red scare undertone in this film, and of course some brilliant US scientist saves the day by breaking the formula and therefore making the invaders visible after all! Recommended for bad moviefans, maybe even highly.

Naboer – aka Next Door. Norwegian psycho thriller about a guy whose girlfriend broke up with him and now he has to deal with that in his own way. He gets seduced by his next door neighbours, who are some hot and steamy young girls. There is a really weird sexscene in this one, you probably haven’t seen it before. Nothing really extreme, but weird anyway. The lot is not reallymind boggling, but it wasn’t totally clear to me from the start, so it had some surprises for me. The gore could have been more and better, but it is not really the film for it. Therefore I wouldn’t say this was horror, but I enjoyed it and would recommend it too.

Satan’s Little Helper – a serial killer dressed up as Satan kills a whole lot of people during Halloween. He gets some unexpected help by a little boy who plays videogames as satan, so this devilish character is simply some sort of a hero to him. He is so naive that he doesn’t notice the victims actually die. His sister, the lovely looking Katheryn Winnick (conveniently dressed up as what is called a “Renaissance whore”) thinks the guy in the devil costume is her new boyfriend, and for some reason they never check. The killer continues his rampage and after a while the sister starts to think and, a little later, even act. It’s a matter of time until the killer will be cornered, or will he? For my opinion on this film I can simply quote from a review I read, as I 100% agree: “… the family Whooly, which consists (apart from the very irritating boy) of an annoying mother and a really gorgeous daughter. It’s a cheap trick to let Katheryn Winnick run around in a whore’s outfit during the entire film, but my god, it works! *drool*”(end of quote). Recommended for being a classic feeling slasher with the necessary eye candy, a bit of a shame about the irritating charcters, but hey, Winnick…

Jug Face – before I started watching it, I judged this film by it’s cover and assumed it would be something with ghosts or possession. Well, there is some possession, but it is very little. Actually, this is a redneck film in the woods with a mysterious pit which demands sacrifices. The community living there has to sacrifice the guy or girl whose face shows up on the jugs crafted by the local potter, who always does so while being in a trance. In return, the pit heals all the townspeople from all sorts of diseases. Since I think this is a really bad deal, I kept wondering why all these people were not moving away from the pit and go live elsewhere. But they didn’t, so this movie could be made. There are some OK subplots, but the main storyline is that a girl discovers her face on a jug and then hides it, to save the baby inside her. Ending is a bit fatalistic, which was good. Overall a bit slow and not really exciting film, although there was some cool gore.

Orc Wars - aka Dragonfyre. What do you do when you move into a remote house to get some rest after having served in the army for a few years and you find a scantly clad princess in your garden? Of course you set out to save her and to do so you use all your army surplus gear, in order to stop the oncoming hordes of orcs: shotguns, automatic rifles, .50 cal sniper rifles, pistols, grenades and even a halftrack with a .50 cal. Nothing is too big or too small to be used against the fantasy monsters. And in the end of course they live happily ever after. If you think this is your thing, you can give it a spin, but if you don’t, be happy that I just saved 90 minutes of your life (calculating one minute for reading this).

After Effect – I saved this one in my /Zombies folder, but I should have saved it in my medical experiment horror folder if I had one. Although some of the victims turn into something which resembles a zombie, this isn’t a zombie movie like you might expect when searching on imdb with keyword ‘zombie’ and ending up at this film. The story is about a group of students which wants to earn some quick money so they signed up for a project where they are in a remote hospital and do some medical experiments. Soon, some of them turn into bloodraging monsters and the rest of the group has to try and survive. After Effect is a debut movie for many of the cast and crew and although there are some minor mistakes in acting and editing, overall this film leaves a nice impression and I hope that the guys and girls involved in it will continue to improve themselves, because then we might expect something (even) better in the future. This is not a great film, but it is nicely done and I believe these people are capable of doing just what I wrote here. I’ll keep a lookout indeed.

American Horror House – Syfy film with a sorority and pledges, wow! I have never seen such originality, but what can you expect from Syfy. This time, the pledges have to get some sort of a mascotte from a fraternity, and then they have to stay around some haunted house with ghosts. The background story of these ghosts is hardly explained. There is also some sort of a landlady, and she has a dark background. When people start to disappear, and then reappear as ghosts, the pledges begin to unravel a cliche horrorstory which has nothing surprising for the viewer, but it is an OK-ish pastime, it wasn’t annoying or anything. Some of the sorority girls look nice and some of the kills were funny. Forgettable, fastfood-like film.

Return of the Killer Shrews – after having seen this load of crap, I was thinking of an Oscar ceremony where American Horror House was getting all the praise and the awards. This of course because this film is so much worse. There is a really lame attempt at connecting this film to the original (which is from the 50s, and that should give you an idea of how pathetic this all is), and after that it is the typical lowbudget bluescreen acting in a non-existent forest on a non-existent island fighting against non-existent (and really, really bad looking cgi made) killer shrews. Well, fighting… the shrews simply jump up and bite the throats off. Good riddance, because the “actors” aren’t actually capable of doping anytbing remotely resembling acting. Really bad film, skip this one if you love your life.

The Dead Inside - British zombiefilm with a total outbreak in the UK (around the city of Bedford) and a global spread. This is a typical post-TWD zombiefilm, as it is about a small group of survivors who travel around to see where they can have a good place to stay with enough food and a strong defense against the zombies. They end up in a school where they meet some soldiers, the only remaining armed forces in the country (or so does the movie say). The group consists entirely of cliche and one-sided characters, and the story develops quite predictable, except for a few things, like
Spoiler:
when the group of boys first meets the soldiers, one of them gets shot immediately
Not so much gore, which is always a minus for a zombieflick. Nice try, but lacking originality a lot. OK passtime for zombiefans, though.

Amy - in an Amish (or Amish-like) community, a young girl has clairvoyance, and she sees evil slowly but steadily taking over her godfearing village. What begins with the sighting of one possession, ends up in a totally mad whirlpool of demonic activity, but you will never get scared while watching this film, not even once. Acting is OK-ish, some of the characters keep to their rles in an appropriate way, but others make little mistakes you will notice if you have seen more than, say, 25 films. Gore is rare, so can't say much about that. Problem in this film is 1) the story, 2 ) the effects. The story is simply uninteresting. Who cares if some weird religious community gets to deal with something they don't like? It's only affecting a few people who live separated from the rest of the world. Amy, the clairvoyant girl, is the only one who sometimes speaks to outsiders, like the shaman type with the dolls. The characters never succeed in getting any sympathy from the viewer, simply because what happens is so dull. The story also tries to be "clever" at times, resulting in plottwists which aren't really surprising. The ending was meh, to. The effects are what makes the film a bit dumb, and totally unscary. When amy sees a possession, a picture of a face is photoshopped over someone else's face, and badly too. Even kids can do better on their computers.

Sharknado - oh, my god. I thought that it couldn't get any worse, but it can. Sharknado is way worse than Amy. Toss Ian Ziering, Tara Reid and a whole bunch of badly CGI'd sharks into the mixer, add some extreme weather and you will get this load of sh*t. Ian Ziering is Fin, a surf hero with an ex-wife and two kids who don't want to see him again. He and his lovely female colleague get into a situation when some huge storms sweep up not only half the ocean, but also some 85% of the world's shark population. First Fin's restaurant, then the rest of the coastal town falls victim to the incredibly badly made storm with even worse looking sharks in it. Only a tiny bit of gore, a sloppy lokking Tara Reid and an overdose of (I can't tress this enough) bad cgi, made this a tpough one to sit thorugh. I failed at it, too. I fell asleep and woke up for the last 15 minutes. Maybe I should have ffwd to that point in the film immediately, because there we get to see Ian Ziering doing something cool with an obviously rubber made part of a shark. Skip this, and if you despite this review still think this might be for you, then please skip the first 70 minutes.

I Spit On Your Grave 2 - I hadn't seen the remake of the 70s classic, because I thought it wouldn't be really good. I gave the sequel a chance because the original never had any sequels, and yes, that is illogical. This fuilm iks about Katie, a Missouri girl in NY who wants to become a model, but needs a few thousand dollars to make a real good photshoot. So, when she sees an ad for a free shoot, she takes it. She ends up with a few guys in an apartment, but when they want to do naked pictures, she runs off. A few days layter she gets a visit from one of them, and it turns out he is stalking her. This goes to extremes and
Spoiler:
her janitor ends up dead and she finds herself back in Bulgaria, on a dirty mattress in an underground room
This is a rape-revenge film, which shouldn't be a surprise, so she gets raped a few times and then she sets out to get her revenge. The rape part is on the edge. It wasn't so harsh and extreme like in films such as A Serbian Film, but it sure wasn't nice to look at. Jemma Dallender, the main actress, didn't have a large filmography before she did this film, but she does a good job. She is especially believable as the victim, and just a little less as the angel of vengeance. Atmosphere is desolate at the right moments, but there are some stupidities in the film, like
Spoiler:
when she gets abducted from New York to Bulgaria in a flightcase without anyone ever noticing it
and also some really predictable things, like
Spoiler:
you can see it coming that one of the people wanting to help her, is actually bringing her back to the rape room
All in all a bit sick at times, some good gore and some creative torture stuff. I had a Hostel feeling at times, like I was watching a sequel to that film instead of an I Spit-sequel. Recommended if you like rape-revenge.

I bought a big box of blaxploitation recently, the Urban Action Box, with 8 movies on 2 discs. I watched the first film of it yesterday:

Black Streetfighter - aka Bogard. Badly produced actionflick (watery colours, shaky image, bathroom sound - well, everything you might expect from a bad VHS transfer) in wi\hich a guy called Leroy Fisk is gonna work for the mob in order to earn some money so he can provide for his pregnant wife. At first he doesn't seem fit for the job, but later he starts fighting ebtter and better. After he has earned enough money to buy a club, his wife and brother-in-law get killed in an attack aimed at him. Now he sets out on a revenge tour, in order to kill every single person who had anything to do with the attack. This leads to numerous fights and murders, some of which are creative, and others are quite gruesome. This film was lacking good music, or at least there wasn't enough of it imo. A shame that production value is so low, as the story itself wasn't so bad, same goes for acting. Not the best blaxploitation I have seen, but you shouldn't start the genre with this one.

Lady Cocoa - Second film from the box, not much better. Again a VHS transfer (I'm getting the feeling that they all are), and this time the sound was not only bathroom-like, but it also had some disturbance which sounded like morse code throughout the film. It went on and off, and sometimes it was on for minutes on end, really annoying. The film itself wasn't really very interesting, although the premise was OK enough: woman gets free out of jail card in order to arrest her boyfriend a big druglord. Message from this film: black guys may be bad but you can't trust any whities, as they are all bad (and traitors!). Some chase fun, some shootings, but all in all this was too littel for the 98 minutes it ran. I hope the remaining films are better.

A while ago I was watching a film but apparently I forgot to review it here, so here goes:

Battledogs - in NY city, a photographer arrives on the airport, carrying a disease of which she doesn't know the effects yet. It is highly contagious after it has manifested itself, and the victim turns into a (were)wolf, hungry for meat. Upon biting someone else, that person gets the diease too, so it spreads rapidly. The army is being called in to save the rest of the world and therefore it's quarantining the city. In the army we can see some really cliche ridden characters, like the tough officer, the bad NCO, the sympathetic army medic, etc. etc. The wolves are being held at a trainstation, but they are being rebellious because of their rights being trampled on. The army wants the wolves alive, because they (of course, how original!) see a new weapon in them. As soon as the antidote for the virus is found, they can start producing, so they start searching for Patient Zero. Now a long chase starts, with the good medic, the photographer and ssome others being chased by all the baddies from the military. CGI was acceptable but could have been better and acting was not so great, except for the photographer who did a pretty good job. Nothing really special, maybe it's for you if you are a bad moviefan.

Night of the Tentacles - a lonely guy who has a hobby which consists of simultaneously masturbating with his neighbour girl, has some serious heart problems. When the doctors say he needs fixing, he makes a deal with the devil whi can give him a heart without any trouble. The catch is that the heart needs human flesh to stay alive, when the heart dies, the guy dies. Simple. So the guy tries to feed the heart as good as he can, but of course this brings him into some seriously troubled situations. In the end he has to decide whetehr he can con tinue with this, or that he has to do something radical. I really liked this film, it was very much low budget but that didn't take the fun out of it, for a change. The acting and the story reminded me repeatedly of The Evil Dead, with Brandon Salkil as Dave being the new Bruce Campbell. His mimics were quite stunningly alike (maybe he practised in front of a mirror with The Evil Dead playing in the background, I don't know). The effects were minimal, but that didn't matter much. I had some good fun with this one, recommended!
