Dead Snow 2: Red vs Dead - aka Død Snø 2. Sequel to the nice Norwegian zombie comedy Dead Snow/Død Snø. Continuing where that film ended, Martin shortly tells you what happened with the nazi zombies, his friends and the gold. Then, while on the run for the nazi zombies, he discovers one more gold coin in his car: the nazis will keep chasing him. In the meantime he is being searched for by the police, who think he killed his friends. He also gets in contact with an American zombie squad and a gay WWII museum employee, who all help him to fight the nazi zombies. Those are on a mission which they couldn't complete during the war and now it's up to Martin and his co-warriors to stop them. I had a lot of fun watching this. Within a few minutes there were already some good jokes and it didn't stop there. There were both zombie jokes (Herzog not being able to salute because of his missing arm) and non-zombie jokes ("That was further than usual"). Some things looked a bit strange to me, like the fact that the museum had only one employee present, but since the film never meant to be serious in any way that is totally OK. Acting is good, story is cool and I can safely recommend this to anyone, it is actually a tad better than part one, imo.

Jersey Shore Massacre - nice slasher which spoofs Jersey Shore and therefore saves itself a bit. Purely seen as a slasher, this film is boring and cliche, but the Jersey Shore characters, talk and sleaziness make up for that. I never watched Jersey Shore myself, and this must be even funnier if you did. You can obviously tell that the filmmakers dislike the Jersey type people, and it gives the film a comical touch which you can't miss. Some jokes are a bit over the top, but there are some nice ones too, like when the Jersey Devil tour costs $7.50 per person, and Dina wants a discount so she bargains $50 for the six of them. Even though the main character Teresa is also not really classy, you start seeing her as a really classy person compared to the rest of the bunch. The story is simple: the girls go on a weekend, end up in a different house than they had hoped, and in that area there is a killer loose. The kills themselves are mostly offscreen, although there are some nasty slasher shots too. If you want real horror, pick something else, but if you want to have a laugh and some gore, go for this one.

Wolfcop - intended as a B-movie I guess, it's a horrorcomedy and they are usually never scary. So is this one, but it has some nice jokes and some really lame ones (like the name indeed, or the fact that the wolf-change starts in the crotch). There are some nice babes in this one though, and the storyline is funny and interesting enough to keep you watching. It is also pretty short, so no harm done there either. The wolf looks pretty OK and I thought it was quite funny that he starts to be a very cool guy as a wolf, even with some sort of a superhero image around him. In the end they announced part II coming, and I will watch that too, I think that says enough.

Zombie Killers Elephants Graveyard - and yet another zombiefilm obviously inspired by The Walking Dead. What we got here is a guy, Doc, running a safe haven named Elwood in a world overrun by zombies. Everyone who is contaminated is evicted, and they can choose to die or try to survive outside the fences. These fences are guarded by the Zombie Killers, a group of amateur soldiers led by a sergeant played by Billy Zane. They also make excursions in search of ammo, food and other useful stuff. The water supply is being tested everytime in order to keep contamination in check. Well, what happens is a zombie attack here or there, some evictions with a lot of drama and an apocalyptic ending. Oh, and ugly cg deer which are zombified. Yeah, the zombified animals, they were quite cool but looked like shit. Nothing new in this film, nothing refreshing, but if you like zombies and guys shooting them, this might be for you. I don't hate this film, it's just that I couldn't get my mind around the fact that this is such a blatant WD copy.

Children of the Full Moon - Hammer House of Horror episode nr 9, and the title implied that it was about werewolves. Well, that's true, but not in your everyday horrorfilm-way. A couple goes on a honeymoon when they have a light car accident in the middle of nowhere. Looking for help, they find a house with a somewhat strange family: an older woman with a large number of children, "not all mine", the woman says. Outside the couple hears strange noises and on the way back to the car to get their stuff (they have to stay overnight because there is nothing they can do for the day in order to get their car towed and/or repaired) they see a strange creature. At night, they have a frightful experience ad the next morning they wake up in a hospital. The man is woondering if all whuch happened was real, but when they get home, he notices that his wife has changed. He is bound to find out what happened so he goes back, and what he finds is full of terror. Very nice storyline, the acting was good and I enjoyed this episode way more than the one I saw bfore,. One of the best of the series imo, at least until now.

Annabelle - a couple gets kileld by their daughter who had joined a satanic cult. When they find her, she has committed suicide and holds a doll on her lap. This is the doll Mia got as a present from her husband John to celebrte her pregnancy. After a while, they both start to hear strange noises, the TV goes on and off, the sowing machine starts whirring, and more strange things happen. It frightens Mia, and at first John thinks she is getting it into her head, and she is being oversensitive because of the pregnancy. But when things turn worse they blame the doll, they move house and they throw the doll away. This doesn't help at all, however, and with their newborn daughter they don't want to take any risks, so they seek help from the church and from some lady who works at the bookstore. Drastic measures have to be taken in order to restore their lives as normal. Acting is OK, effects were OK too. The scary moments were scarce but effective (I counted three, of which one was pretty scary indeed), all other stuff what was supposed to make you feel uneasy or scared was been-there-done-that imo. Good enough film to enjoy and will rewatch some day I guess. Recommended at least.

Clown - expecting a slasher (with a killer clown) I got something more than that. When his sevenyear-old is having his birthday party and the hired clown doesn't show, his father Kent, a real estate broker, searches the house he is in and finds a clown costume. He puts it on and replaces the hired clown, saving the birthday party. Next day however, he wants to take the costume off but can't. It is stuck to his body, like the whig is stuck to his head and the fake nose to his real nose. With some effort, he manages to remove the white facepaint, but taking off the nose results in a wounded nosetip. Bandaged, he tries to cover up his looks, but also tries to find out what is going on with the suit. Soon he finds out where it is from and he learns that the suit is in fact demonic, and it is trying to take over his body. According to the brother of the previous owner of the suit, the only way out is decapitation. Can Kent be saved? Quite an original take on the whole possessed thing, with some good acting and a from time to time grim atmosphere
Spoiler:
you really get the feeling that Kent is lost, that he can never come out of this situation anymore
The subplot with the protective grandfather wasn't really necessary imo, but it wasn't too much either. This was pretty good, recommended.

Alien Rising - a special agent Lisa Morgan, sees her partner go down in an explosion, caused by himself in order to kill off a bunch of criminals. They were trying to deal something top secret. Years later, Morgan is recruited for a secret mission once more, because she is one half of identical twins. The secret mission is to make a brainlink between two aliens who are being held at a research center, so the researchers can find out how to mindcontrol the aliens by using the telepathic link of the twins. It's a bit hocus pocus as I write it, but it makes more sense if you see it in the movie. Lance Henriksen is the commander of the army present at the center, where Morgan not only gets to see both aliens, but also gets some nasty surprises, about her partner and about Lance Henriksen too. Acting is mediocre, except for Henriksen who does a pretty good job. Brian Krause is also there but he looks very much out of place and John Savage is OK in the first scene he plays but starts fading soon. The aliens look nice, especially the small one. What saddened me is the bad cgi, especially on the big alien, and the repetition of images: some scenes are shown twice and it wasn't done smartly. The lot was quite OK however, and with a little more effort this could have been a great alien film. Right now it is just some fast food flick.

Zombie Ass: Toilet of the Dead - I have seen quite some J-sploitations, but this one really takes the cake until now. It has poop-zombies, and fart-fights. Yes, it is that bad. OMG, this one was so gross, I was actually wodnering out loud what the f*** I was watching, three times! First time was when the zombies came out of a toilethole (one comes at the surface, but soon a whole crowd of them rises from the toilet), second time was when the giant tapeworms do a real manga move on several girls and the third time was duing the endfight with the farts and the wings and everything. The tapeworms look cool btw, with scissorlike mouths and a large brain on top of their heads. I laughed out loud several times too, because this was so damn crazy. Unbelievable that peole first thought of this, then financed it and actually made it! Recommended for everyone with a bad taste and a love for bad movies.

Demonic – the title is a bit misleading, as this is more of a ghost/haunted house film, the demon only comes in the last few minutes. I redownloaded a HD rip so the image was very nice on my big screen. This film offers very few thijngs which are surprising. The plot, the atmosphere, you have all seen it several times before, This film is not really bad, the acting is decent enough, the effects are OK and the filmmakers really tried to make a nice movie. Problem is that it is very predictable (you can see the ending coming from miles away) and you never get scared. Gore is sort of worth it, and the short runtime can make this a nice timefiller. Nothing to remember, though.

Grabbers – funny comedy with horror elements (there is a slimy monster with hundreds of minions). On an island near the coast of Ireland, a policeman has to guard the population while his boss is away for a vacation. To replace him, a woman is sent to assist, but the policeman doesn’t like that at all. So at first he tries tos hun her, but soon he finds out that she is a really nice person and they get along pretty well. Actually this is a romantic comedy with monsters, because this is the plot, and the monster which comes out of the sea just helps to make this plot happen. The funniest thing imo is that the people find out that the monster eats everyone, except those who are drunk. So they organise a party, not only to have fun, but also to defeat the monster. Effects are cool, the monsters looked real (as in no cgi). Gore is OK, acting decent and the jokes were usually pretty funny. I enjoyed watching this one and although it as never scary, I reommend this to everyone who wants to have some laughs inbetween the monster action (or the other way around).

Doc of the Dead – a documentary on zombies. Not the first one I have ever seen. Fortunately this one didn’t go into zombie apocalypse survival mumbo jumbo too much (although there were some “experts” being interviewed on the subject): I still can’t believe that there are actually people who make a living out of that. Good thing is that George Romero gets a lot of interview time. There are also that guy from Shaun of the Dead who is pretty funny, and also that guy from World War Z who really wants to be funny. Then we have the guy from Walking Dead, or maybe there were two of them. It’s a bit about the origin of the zombie, that part was really cool, and it’s about zombies in popular culture today, that part was a bit less interesting. Also pretty OK was the part on the slow-fast debate: I smiled when it came along. All in all quite a comprehensive documentray on today’s zombies. If you want more focus on Romero only, you should wtatch Document of the Dead, the documentary which comes with the Trilogy of the Dead box.

As Above So Below - nice film in which the cam-style filming is not very annoying for a change. The plot is embedded really well: it feels like you drop in a storyline which has been running for a while. In the first scenes we see archaeologist/chemist Scarlett Marlowe secretly travelling in Iran, where she makes a big discovery. She tries to complete the quest her father started years ago: finding the philosopher's stone. After some detective work she ends up in the catacombs below the city of Paris, with her cameraman Benji, her translator George and a team of experienced catacomb explorers led by a guy calling himself Papillon. In the catacombs you see everything through the lenses of Benji's handheld and everyone's headcameras. The journey through the tunnels is treachery to say the least. I must say that they captured the claustrophobia really well, although it was a shame the rocks were obviously moving like foam in the scene where Benji gets stuck. What Scarlett and her company discover goes beyond any of their expectations. The lack of light and the shady figures in the tunnels add to the fears of claustrophobia. There weren't many scare moments, but the overall atmosphere was a bit choking. Acting was pretty good, I would have liked it better if all Frenchmen would have spoken French throughout the film, but I could live with the somewhat standard solution they used in this film. Very enjoyable, recommended.

Alien Abduction – found footage film nr 23574821374. The reason why this is a found footage film is quite original (autistic boy somewhat hides behind camera), but the effect of the style is the same, and I still don’t like it. The story is about a family camping out in the Brown Mountains, and the cool part is that that is an area where many sightings have been made (in reality, not just in the film). On the trip the family has some weord experiences, like bright lights in the nightly sky and a rain of dead crows falling on their car. Their electric equipment gives up on the mand while they are lost, they enter a tunnel full of empty cars. When they see a shadow at the end of the tunnel, they think it is a person whom they can ask for help, But upon coming closer they find out that it is not a person at all… Pretty nice film, although there were some dull parts in it where my thoughts drifted away. The aliens are only on sreen for a short while every time, but the suspense makes up for that. The tunnel scene is the best part of the film, the ending is OK-ish. There is also something more during the end credits. I wish filmmakers would stop doing that btw: it is becoming old really fast and it is no surprise or anything innovative anymore. OK film, no masterpiece but no tutter crap either.

Zombeavers – a group of girls goes on a weekend to put their worries behind them, especially Jenn, whose boyfriend cheated on her. In the lake where the girls are swimming, some toxic waste has been dumped by accident, so the local beavers have become zombeavers: handpuppets with gory noses and large teeth. The first night the boyfriends arrive anyway, adn apart from tensions between Jenn and her boyfriend, the zombeavers are arriving too and they lay siege to the house (much like in films like NOTLD or Evil Dead). This concept was really funny to see, there were many jokes, and some of them were really funny. In the second half it goes a bit over the top, but it was still fun imo, and I had a great time watching this. The ending is hilarious and after that there are bloopers and yes, again, a scene after the end credits. Cool thing about the end credits is the song about Zombeavers which is playing when the credits roll. Gore, tits and fun: recommended, especially for bad moviefans.

Stonehearst Asylum - grabbed this one because it sounded a bit creepy, I like asylums and I love Kate Beckinsale. Pretty long film (almost two hours), and it turns out that it's not really a horor, although it might appeal to horrorfans anyway. Christmas 1899, Edward Newgate arrives at the Stonehearst Asylum to get some clinical experience before he starts his career as an asylum doctor. He meets Dr. Lamb and his staff, and he is struck by the beaty of one of the female members, Eliza Graves. After one day, he finds out that there is more to the asylum than he first thought: the lunatics have taken over and the original staff is in cells in the basement. Edward now wants two things: to save the staff and to take Eliza with him out of the asylum. The storyline never gets close to a horrorstory, although there are of the course the lunatics and the scenes in which they are treated the way they used to be treated in the 19th century: these might be interesting for horrorfans. The plot itself was interesting at first, but the final scenes reveal a new plottwist which I totally didn't like, imo it was too much (of the same thing). Acting is nice, setting is great adn atmosphere makes this film. Don't come and look for gore because there is no more than in a regular film. Ten minutes too long, with a different ending I would have liked it better.

The Human Race - the description sounded a bit like The Running Man, but it turned out to be more like Battle Royale. It is not as good as both of those films, though. A group o people get teleported to a certain compound, where they hear a voice in the air (sounding like their own voice) telling them certain rules for a race. If you don't follow the rules, you die. Soon, people start running, and dying. A group tries to save some peole by boycotting the race, others try to win by killi ng off opponents. All this while they are being watched, and of course there will be a winner. Some characters are introduced more thoroughly
Spoiler:
and one of them dies almost instantly. I read some reviews which thought it made the introduction pointless, but I thought it was pretty original
and after a while you get an idea of who might win this race. Then, when the race is over, you get an absurd finale, which leaves much room for a sequel. I'm not gonna watch that sequel, I guess. I don't know if the filmmakers ewre trying to convey a message, but if they did it was a really cliche one. Good thing is the gore, even though it is cgi blood. Mediocre at best, this one.

The Redwood Massacre - British slasher which is a huge pile of crap. A chain of cliches, horrible acting, goofy mistakes (shadows in places where they can't be According to the lightsource) and mindnumbing dialogue ("you go... while you still can... don't look behind you... don't look back... don't ever look back") make this a film to be avoided. Music is rather good at times, it is just used completely the wrong way: timing certainly isn't the strongpoint of the filmmakers. The gore is plenty, but often it is over the top. The characters are so dumb that you easily root for the killer in this one, although slashing these victims wasn't really that much of a challenge. Very bad film, I started using ffwd after half of the film and I even deleted it after finishing: something I almost never do. Save yourself some 80 minutes and skip this boring and stupid heap of rubble.

Ouija - bunch of kids (among whom are some good looking girls) play around with a ouija board and when one of them dies, her best friend Laine investigates what really happened. They do some more seances and after a while Laine finds out what is behind the ouija board. Many cliches again, but not as blatant and disturbing as in Redwood Massacre. James Wan regular Lin Shaye also makes an appearance and is instantly the best actress onscreen. The film tries it's best but it doesn't really succeed in becoming scary. Even the scene between the mother and daughter ghost didn't scare. The plot twist is pretty nice, but the ending is rather dull.

World War Dead: Rise of the Fallen - found footage film about a crew making a documentary on the Battle of the Somme. They try to squeeze a scoop out of it, and it seems they struck gold when they find a rotting corpse of a South Aftican soldier (with remarkably pristine unit insignia). That night, while the crew is sort of playing football, German and British soldier zombies appear, this is about half an hour into the film. After this first appearance the crew runs into German dug tunnels and from time to time you see a glimpse of a zombie. This is quite hard because of the shaky camera and the darkness. What follows, is some 40 minutes of running through the tunnels, screaming and in the meantime you aren't able to see anyhing except for some close up shots when a few crewmembers have a dialogue. The ending is dumb, as if there are still World War One minefields out in the open (I know there are dangerous places to walk around in France, but they aren't minefields and you usually can't access those places as easily as they do in this film). Disappointing zombieflick, and a somewhat wasted evening. I find solace in the fact that you guys can now safely skip these films and watch something better.

Starry Eyes - Something special, this film. Sarah wants to be an actress. She works at a sleezy food joint, but she dreams of becoming a star. Upon failing audition after audition, she suddenly seems to get a chance, and when the filmmakers are pushing her boundaries, she first doesn't want to give in, but then decides otherwise, with big consequences. Slow starter, the first 30-40 minutes you might wonder why you are watching this film, but hang on: there is a nice surprise in the second half of the film. Acting is quite good, surprising newcomers here (at least I think they are newcomers, I didn't know any of them). The lead actress is especially someone to watch for in new productions. I liked the (touch of) body horror, the final scenes are a bit weird, but I guess they were meant to convey the message. Not your everyday horror, you have to have some patience for this film. I also think that not everyone will like it, but I recommend this one, maybe even highly.

The Human Centipede III: the final sequence - a sequel to the Centipede trilogy which goes in a different direction. Tom Six uses this third installment to ridicule the entire concept of the human centipede and also of filmmaking itself, with the critics being spoofed in the process. The storyline evolves around the two actors of the first two films, but they play different characters. At first I thought this was a cheap move, but I gradually saw the humour in it, because Bill Boss just made such an over the top performance in his German prison warden role, that this could never have been meant to be even a little serious. His screaming starts to be annoying in the last half hour, but by then you must know that this film is a parody in itself. The sick loner from part two is now the warden's accountant Dwight Butler, and he comes up with the idea to solve all prison rioting: a 500-man human centipede. It takes almost an hour to really get to the centipede part, but when it does, it is pretty hilarious. First the inmates are shown the movies (they react like the critics did supposedly - I didn't read the critics' reviews) and then a large team of medics starts to make the centipede. This part isn't as grim and gory as the first two films: there are some gory scenes, like when
Spoiler:
one of the inmates is being castrated
but this film just goes for being sarcastic and hilarious. Having Bree Olson as the secretary adds to that. I think you might either love this film or hate it. If you can appreciate the humour, you will fall into the latter category. Warning: don't watch this one if you haven't seen parts one and two, because it might be a bit puzzling what this is all about. Also you will miss many a joke.

The Thirteenth Reunion - Hammer House of Horror episode nr 10. Storyline comes across as quite familiar, with a reporter researching an institute connected with a funeral parlor: both are involved in a mysterious scheme. Together with an employee she pus the pieces of the puzzle together and slowly but stadily comes closer and closer to the truth. Which, to my surprise, is only reve4aled in the very last few minutes: good thing. Acting is good, atmosphere is OK, this episode turned into a direction I didn't totally expect, I think this one is among the better ones in the series.

Godzilla vs Mechagodzilla 2 - bought a bunch of Godzilla films recently, and this was one of the few I hadn't seen yet. Godzilla still looks the same, still has the same background music when he appears and the Japanese are still breaking their brains over how to finally kill the beast. In this ffilm, they built another Mechagodzilla. If I followed it well (there were only simple and short English subs), they never mentioned that there already had been a Mechagodzilla before. Just that they had built a robotic plane called Gamera. Which is kind of funny, seeing the Gamera films with the flying turtle from the 70s. So, they built this tank version of Godzilla, and they want to destroy it by taking out his spinal brain. roblem is that it is hard to locate, so they use a telepathic woman to pinpoint it for them. Also in this film is a huge Pteranodon and some large eggs which produce a Baby eventually, a rather large baby too. Best quote: "I'm a pteranodon-fan." The fighting scenes are getting old, I can't imagine that the Japanese audience actually enjoys to see the same moves over and over again with a different background story. I always have to take a rather large break between two Godzilla films. To conclude: this is not the coolest Godzilla film I have ever seen. I still have one more Mechagodzilla film to go plus a Space Godzilla and a Godzilla 2000.

The Hooker Cult Murders - aka The Pyx. 70s movie starring Karen Black and Christopher Plummer. A thriller with a slight touch of horror, with the emphasis on slight. The plot description is a bit too much on this one, as it gives away the most important plot twist of the film, so if you can, go watch it wwthout reading the synopsis first. Karen Black plays a hooker who is being seen plummeting to her death from the top of a high building. Murder or suicide? Or an accident maybe? Plummer plays the detective trying to find out, and the film is set up in a way that you dsee hium doing the investigation and in flashback you get to see the last days of Black's character. I read this in a review, otherwise it would have taken me quite a while to find this out. The quality of the transfer on this DVD was very low (crappy VHS source I guess), and the image was pretty dark and the sound a tad muffled. It made it a task to follow the plot, but with the help of the info I got from the review I could manage. These are the bad things of the film, the good things are in the acting mostly, as both Black and Plummer give a nice performance. Fun fact is that the songs in this film were both composed and performed by Black herself, too. Although the way the plot was being shown in the film, with the two stories intertwined in a ifty way, the film wasn't a blast for me and I guess I wouldn't have watched it if it wasn't on a collection DVD box with 6 films.

V/H/S: Viral - same setup as the previous V/H/S films, only this time the videos aren't being watched by anyone, they juist start. What's a bit weird, is that this is mostly about digital film and we still get VHS-like static and artefacts at the beginning of each segment. The segments are OK, the wraparound story was a bit unclear. The first segment is about a magician with a cloak that gioves hium supernatural powers in magic, but needs food in the form of flesh. Yes, human flesh. The second segment is about a Spanish guy creating a teleport thing like in The Fly, but here it is a portal to a parallel world, where apparently some sort of Satanist alien beings live. This story was cool and it also was the one which intrigued me most. It had a Lovecraftian ending, which is always good too. The third segment was stupid: it's about a bu nh of skaters going to Tijuana and ending up fighting an occult community there. Worst effort yet in the VHS department, let's hoipe that if there is a fourth part it will be better. One plus: there are several beautiful girls/women in this one.

Dream No Evil - bought this one together with Delinquent Schoolgirls on one disc and I watched them both last night. This one is a bit weird, it has some slasher elements and a strange plot which resembles a giallo. The mystery of a giallo is lost though, as a voice over explains a lot during the film. The story is about Grace MacDonald, who has a father-complex. It's not so strange she has it, because she grew up in an orphanage with recurring dreams of her father coming and getting her. In her 20s, she starts working for a weird reverend-type preacher with some kind of a religious circus travelling around. Her boyfriend, a surgeon, isn't allowed to have sex with her, so eventually he fades away and their relationship ends with him diving into bed with another girl. One day, she hears of her father by a strange character who is both a pimp and a mortician: he says her father is dead and that he is in his mortuary. Not for long though, because when she is there, he comes back to life and starts murdering people "to protect his daughter". Dreams and reality are mixed up inside Grace's head and more people are meeting their demise. In the end the plottwist was nice, but maybe it would have been better if it was visualized a bit better instead of told by the voice over. Strange film, but I had fun watching it.

Delinquent Schoolgirls - aka Bad Girls aka Scrubbers 2 aka The Sizzlers aka Carnal Madness. Nice 70s sleaze, about a school for tough girls, which gets visited by three escapees from an insane asylum. Very slow paced, the story comes to a climax only 20 minutes before the end, so you keep wondering why the description is boasting about the busty babes kicking some ass. But when they start, they do it well. There are many lame jokes, many scenes which could have been cut and you wouldn't miss them, but there are also beautiful women and, yes, busty babes. If you want some mindless fun with a lot of boobs, go for this one.

Savaged - aka Avenged. An off beat mix between subgenres, this story shows you how deaf and mute girl Zoe travels across the desert in order to visit her black boyfriend Dane. While she drives alomng the highway, she witnesses a bunch of rednecks kiling off two native Americans, and while she is trying to help one of them she gets caught by the gang of locals. They brutalize her and leave her buried in a shallow grave. She is found by an Apache living in his trailer close by and he tries to bring her back using some medicineman tactics, but they go wrong: an ancient Apache spirit now inhabits Zoe's body. The spirit is out for revenge and starts hunting down the rednecks. In the meantime Dane is trying to find her, but he gets mixed up in all this. This is very much for a 90 minute film and it shows. It's a bit of a rape-revenge film, a bit of a rednexploitation, and a bit of a demonic possession film. And it excels at none of them, which is a pity a there really is some potential. The gore is pretty gruesome at times, the spirit effects a tad limited. Audio was hard to follow because of lots of conversation through the phone or through a radio, and the redneck accent didn't help either. OK film, but nothing really special.

Shadow Play - worthless film which is totally misplaced on the "Horror collection extravaganza" 6 film box. The cliche "the only horror is to watch this film" can be dusted off again. The crappiness in this one was so immense that you almost couldn't believe it. The plot of the film was clear to me after some 10 minutes, and then it takes the film another 90 minutes to figure it out for itself. Aaaaarrrrggghhh!! I really felt the urge to gouge out my eyes several times. To save you from the 100 worst minutes of your life I will tell you the story: playwright has lost her fiancé 7 years ago because "he took his life", now she is back at the island where it all happened to overcome her writer's block. Of course she finds out that he didn't kill himself at all, he had an accident in the presence of his jealous brother. The end. There is a lot of stupid and mind boggling mumbo jumbo going on in the way that you start wondering whether this film kight be made by some trained animals instead of humans. It is in-cre-di-bly dull and I almost died of boredom. Never watch this film! Even an Adam Sandler film would suit you better, seriously.
