looks like it, probably caused by one of the datacenter outages.

looks to be keeping time now. Summary of what seems to have happened: 1. Datacenter had a network outage, we are on a VM so we lost contact with our local storage 2. Datacenter lost their timeservers, and a storage array 3. Fuckers didn't reboot our vm so we were in read-only mode 4. We rebooted, server came up but index restore on db was needed 5. They had another network outage. 6. Server came up, synced time with their timeserver and we were 10mins in the past. SOBs! That will have played havoc with sessions, etc. but login issues were reported before and after these events so it can't be these.

Might order a new vm from the datacenter and migrate to ubuntu from centos. I've fallen out with centos.

Looks like we were down again for some reason I'm thinking about moving us to a more meaty server.

okay so a decent server would cost 1.75x as much as what we are on now; which is a lot when we take into account we got kicked from google ads.

Well i get some unreliable reports; my remote monitor fires off as the site not responding < 30s during db backups, but that's just as likely the site with the remote monitor is slow From the datacenter alerts its 3 or so times in the past 3 months. I contacted support and they say the plan we are on isn't supported any more so they can't promise an OLA. A new server is VASTLY more powerful than what we have now; it would be a dedicated box, and would support running more sites from there and some play projects.

I'm getting this message when logging in: "This board is currently disabled." and something about removing or renaming the index board file (?) because otherwise only the adminsitration control panel will be active.

That's because I disabled the board to update phpbb to the latest version.

Is it just on my end or has the site been slower lately?

Apologies, I have been extremely busy with some life stuff.
So someone was running a massive crawl on scifi.dead-donkey.com from alibaba cloud. Why someone would do that I don't know but they essentially hammered and hammered a load of get requests, presumably someone is indexing / cloning the site for some reason. Just so its clear, this is how you lose a site forever from the internet and was not helpful. Please do not index this site like this. I assume its some bad code but not cool.
I banned alibaba cloud ip ranges.

Still very slow for me. Now I'm even getting time outs occasionally.
