I'm trying to watch as much as possible but it's very hard to catch up. So my answer is same as  Spud  , Iconoclast  and  PC_Arcade

I, too, don't like to burn'em without watching.

Oh, i do that lots too  That's not to say I haven't sat through some crap just because I'm too tired to get up and click on another movie. :D

I scanned through the Ring tv series episode one and I feel i'm in for a huge dissapointment, It seemed the video was a freaking woman singing  lol, lets hope it was just some dude watching mtv that just so happens to die
I've only watched the first episode too. I didn't think it was too bad...they seem to be sticking closer to the book. No matter how bad it turns out to be, I'm sticking it out because (from what I've heard anyways) Sadako has a tendancy to come out of the television to make her kills naked in the TV version.

that's just wrong, she has no fingernails! :wacky:

I dunno, I think it looked pretty poor, I haven't watched it mind. Ringu deserves its crown. I still gotta see a few more of the movies, but it's the best one by far.

However, I thought the backstory to the US one was better. That horse on the boat is well cool :D

Ring 2 is a pretty strong sequel but it takes some bizarre turns. Ring 0 is very good...but not as a horror. It's got one really really good scare scene (probably the best in all three movies), but it's more of a "coming of age" movie. Sadako is presented as very much a sympathetic character. Ring Spiral (Rasen) takes the more scientific (instead of horror) route, but is the most similar to the book. A lot of people hate Rasen, but I like it a lot. I haven't seen the Korean version of Ringu yet...the black sheep of the Ring movies. I'll have to watch it eventually though because I am a hopeless completionist.

I have trouble comparing the American Ring with the Japanese Ringu. I thought they were both very good... but both having their strong points and weaknesses. I agree that the backstory to The Ring was better than its Japanese counterpart.

Love the fangs by the way. ;)

Ok, I'm off to watch Black Christmas to get into the holiday spirit, then I'll be playing me some Fatal Frame 2. FINALLY!! I have been waiting forever for them to actually release this damn game.

I've seen the Korean Version.... and it's "ok" actually.. it would have been great if that was the original Ringu. But the downside of it is that all the scary scenes... just isnt as scary, it's all very flat.

Bumping the thread... I loved this discussion :)

I watch almost anything I can if I can....

Sometimes I do watch only about 10 ~ 15 mins of the movie, and then FF to see if everything is that freaking boring or if it strats to get better... most of the old horror movies have most of the scary moments near the end and that's when it gets interesting. :matrix:

BTW... El libro de Piedra is a must see (if you like gothic stories), however it can be like one of those FF movies that if you watch like that, you miss everything :(

5000 movies and counting... I've seen I guess about 500 or more complete, and about 2000 10 ~ 15 mins... it's just that I dont have enough time :( (damn.. I need about three more lives to watch them all!)

I've got far too much to do these days so its really dropped. I've had to reallocate a lot of the time i spent from one medium to another.

Me, too. Weird thing is, the ratio stays the same. I just download less, too.

I must watch about 20%, the missus doesn't particularly like horror, (remind me again why i married you), the daughter does so if she says it's 'ok' then i'll watch it.

I plan to watch everything I have downloaded someday, but then the question is what to do with the movies which I would download then? :wacky:

Too many movies, too little time. Might have watched about 70% of what I have downloaded. :matrix:

Oh, and I don't burn movies anymore, not even the ones I rip - watch and delete, that's it. I realized that with all the movies around, I won't/don't have the patience to watch the same movie twice. So why burn?

I just don't have the time. I have around 700 movies now and I'm halfway watching them. The thing is that downing them can be done while I'm away or doing other stuff. Watching them can't ;)

am generally quite careful about what i choose to down, so sooner or later i watch it all, or i have already seen it and am just updating my collections with better copy's. A lot of the stuff i have downed is just replacing my 5 generation copy. I have only been on the internet for less than a year, found out about the donkey network less than 6 months ago. Prior to this i was downing torrents from major trackers which proved speedy but just made me amass a lot of rubbish which i did watch and a lot of the time i would just bin. A waste of time and bandwidth. Nowadays 90% of the stuff i get is the stuff i have wanted for a long time and intend to keep and spread about as much as possible. you no the stuff that is true public domain films ,no proper release any more and if it weren't for the company's like Trash on line and the file sharers this stuff would probably disappear for ever.
Thank you Dead Donkey :beerchug:

I wanted to add that the movies I have are a very nice passtime when my internet connection has problems. Also, when I have moved to my new house I will have lots of time and the balance between movies that I have watched and that I haven't will be more even.

I try to watch everything I get but there are some exceptions, e.g. Joe D'Amato's "Papaya" and "Voodoo Baby" - I just wanted to have them in my collection.
