...Clearly impressed with Hellseeker, Rick Bota's first contribution to the Hellraiser series, Dimension greenlit a sixth Hellraiser sequel even before the fifth was released. Bota has stayed on to direct not only Deader, Hellraiser VII, but also Hellraiser VIII.
In Deader, we can expect to see the heroine 'Amy Klein' (Kari Wuhrer) tempted into the plot having viewed a video of a suicide cult performing resurrections. (Anyone remember the unused Hellraiser 3 plotline with Julia as cult leader...?). Screenwriter Tim Day also returned from the Hellseeker team although the original author of the Deader script, Neil Marshall Stevens, appears unimpressed with the mutation of his screenplay into a Hellraiser vehicle...
Following principal photography in Bucharest, Romania between October and December 2002, Deader is slated for release 13 January 2004.
The Romanian production company, Castel Film, have posted more than thirty photos from Deader as well as a (now removed...) plotline (including, "The dark, terrifying, confusing experiences she goes through when roaming in the passage world of the Deaders, will eventually come to an end when Pinhead crosses over from his kingdom to take his dues...").
----
With Romania clearly the location of choice, Rick Bota stayed on to film Hellraiser VIII between November and December 2002. Formerly rumoured as 'Dark Can't Breathe', the movie will be subtitled either 'Deadworld' or 'Hellworld' depending on whose rumours you believe - and is written by Carl Dupr? from Joel Soisson's treatment.
Castel Film again decided to treat us to an advance batch of production photos, although their accompanying synopsis - which essentially gave away the whole plot - has now been removed at Bota's request. Early reports of the plot revolving around five teenage friends playing a spooky computer game proved true... Lance Henriksen will be headlining as the vengeful father of a boy called Adam who died in the belief he was giving his soul to Pinhead.
Expect this sequel out sometime in 2005...

Have to say that those photos don't look that good at all and both plots sound pretty lame. But then again I never had any expectations for these two flicks. Kinda just forgot whole Hellraiser series after seeing part 5 and 6... ah, maybe these will surpise me positively when they finally come out.

Anyway, part I and II will always rule. I like especially part II quite much :wacky:

The last one sounds like a complete nightmare, and not in a good way. Computers should take out a restraining order against Hollywood.

eh, lance henrikson is cool, though. you can barely tell he's been a 3d computer model since 1994. he does look a little pixelated in person.

It's controversy, But I think part 2 is the series best.....being well aware then some 'critics' rate it the worst...

eh, i kind of consider part 1 and 2 to be almost another series from parts 3-6. or kind of like the difference between a movie and it's television series spin-off- vaguely the same, but just somehow a completely different feel to them, in a watered down comittee descision sort of way.

from IMDB

italianl0ve23
CT

Date: 26 December 2003
Summary: Slight improvement over the last one.
Hellraiser: Deader is better than the last installment, but thats not saying much. At work this past Tuesday, we got in a screener tape, i watched it and found i liked it more than i thought i would. Despite the massive amounts of gore/sex/violence, its painfully obvious that this was shot on a low budget. The movie runs 84 minutes, and if your expecting to see more of Pinhead, you will be let down because his screen time is limited. Check it out on January 13th and see for yourselves.

Is Lance Henriksen in desperate moneyneed ? .... he's a great actor and all, but he sure isnt picky about his parts .. like The Mangler 2? :) :) .. it's on imdb bottom 10 or something.. and it really deserved it too. Pure piece of utter trash.

And... Mimic 3, Sasquatch... House 3...

Times have been hard for Lance since The Terminator.

Did you know he was in line for the lead role in the movie? But they decided on someone (relatively) unknown to make the cyborg more frightening.

That i didnt know.... wonder how the phrase "I'll be back" would have sounded comming from Lance...

I think his 2 absolute best roles... is as Bishop in Aliens... and as Torquemada in the Pit and the Pendulum remake. 2 classics!

Yeah,Arnold was supposed to play the soldier who rescues Sarah Conner from the Terminator(Kyle Reese)....but when he heard about the script and the cyborg he wanted the role of the terminator.... :D

And about Hellraiser?Hmm,the first one was pure Clive Barker horror, the second was also quite good....and the came Hellraiser:Hell on Earth...pure Hollywood-shit(although the chicks were nice...).
From its looks Hellraiser IV was just made in need for money....

Inferno and Hellseeker were very good in my opinion,at least they didn't try to catch onto the crazy storyline from part 3 or 4....

Lance Henriksen and Brad Dourif are the Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman of horror... wait that doesn't work. They are the arnie and sly of horror... oh wait they can act a bit.

Got it, they are the John Cleese and Michael Palin of Horror. :)
