Last night, me and my girl watched the sequel Battle royale 2... I must say, I wasn't that pleased after I had seen it as I thought I would be. I really liked the first one. But secend, arhmmm, I don't know.
I don't won't to spoil anything to those who hasn't seen it yet. But it would be fun to discuss it with you guys (and girls ) who have seen it.

In my opinion it was utter crap. Had really hard time to sit through it. 132mins!? :o What were they thinking when they made the movie. Plot was so bad, but something could have been saved if it had been cut to in, like, 70 minutes (and I very rarely favour cuts). Can't say anything else about the movie. I hated it and deleted it immediately after watching it.

Liked first BR. Decent flick.

gotta agree with you guys. just saw it, and what a pain... All the characters that were shot had time to say something important/stupid before they died. 'Give this letter to my mother, she'll understand... UGH!'

A whole bunch of utterly boring speaches...

WAY too much CGI blood.

All those scenes of children smiling...? blah.

And the teacher that replaced Kitano? What a bad actor!!! BELCH!

Fealt like the completley forgot/missunderstood what it was that made the first one so great. Strange, since it was made by the same guy and his son.

The speeches were my main complaint. Well that and the teacher's obsession with doing a really bad Elvis impression. (That snear...Ugh!) I thought it was way too long, way too boring and too different from the original. One of the things that made the original so disturbing was the fact that these were kids...friends...that had to kill each other and that when all was said and done there could only be one survivor (of course these were my thought during the first viewing). There was so much tension in knowing that these two friends that you see on the screen could eventually have to kill each other. This time around they send them to fight a war as comrades....completely ineffective. There was almost no emotion (or emotional connection with the characters) which is in stark contrast to the original. Also the main male student was just annoying as hell. Someone seriously needs to let this kid know that you can't convey every emotion simply by doing a big googly eyed face. My disappointment was almost palpable. It definitely didn't live up to the original by a long shot.

The son made the majority of the movie I believe. If I remember correctly, his father died very early in the production.

Prayer, listen to the man. If you feel the need to watch it just because you liked the original (first of all be prepared to be disappointed), just download it instead of wasting your money. Ok, if this doesn't drive the point home about how long and drawn out (read: boring) this movie was, nothing will. I fell asleep about halfway through even though I put forth serious effort to force myself to stay awake. "Why is this significant?" you ask? You see, I have a sleeping disorder similar to narcolepsy (hence the term "Racheleptic" that I used in the rip thread that only me and one other person who doesn't even come here would ever get :P). As treatment for this, I take (prescribed of course) 40mg of d-amphetamine (Adderall) daily. In other words, even on 40mg of fucking medical grade speed this movie managed to knock me out flat.

(heh...if you've ever wondered why my posts sometimes get very long and wordy, there's your answer. :P)
