they appear 2 b remaking many old horrors just a couple:
The Toolbox Murders http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0367153/
The Amityville Horror http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0384806/ actually can't believe they are remaking the most boring film ever!!
ScaNners http://us.imdb.com/title/tt0327129/ remaking a Cronenberg now that is gonna be interesting :?

they really do seem to be dredging all the oldies out and not just classics.......check out http://www.upcominghorrormovies.com/ for a few more. also i'm sure there are rumours about a remake of Demons as well

Maybe it was a little slow, but it was scary as hell watching it my first time at the age of 13 years old!

As for DOTD, I guess we'll just have to wait and see. The trailer looks alright, I suppose.

hmmm well since Dawn is my favourite movie i don't think it should ever be touched for a remake :matrix: but saying that if it does come out to be any good then it can only make the movie makers of the future want to make more zombie movies so it could be a good thing for the zombie lover :)

Yeah, that's also my opinion.Just wait and see,if it is crap there's still Tom Savini in it....
The 1990's NOTLD-Remake was a good movie,it was different than the original but good.

Me to, and with Undead/House of the Dead I think zombies are back

I'm just really not sure they bode well for zombie movies... I personally think Undead was highly overhyped, the actors were all overdoing it, and the whole thing didn't keep my attention at all; as for House of the Dead . . . . . the only thing I could think while watching that one was "WTF?"

Sadly, I'm afraid the zombie-fu action of the Dawn of the Dead remake will make sure it is closer to House of the Dead than the Romero classic.

That's only my opinion, though.

Hmm....I think you guys shouldn't always overreact when a new movie has the title of an old classic..... :o :wacky:

Dawn of the Dead is one of my all-time-favs,I think the strange atmosphere of this movie(characters, zombies, the mall,Tom Savini as Rocker,etc..) cannot be replicated in a remake......
I also don't like the idea of running zombies like in 28 Days, let's see how this turns out.... :?

But I sure know I love Zombie-flicks....and without expecting anything more than a nice zombie-movie I would say the trailer for DOTD2004 looks great!!
Let's see the movie first, then bitch about it!

Cheers! :beerchug:

Everything said here reflects my own thoughts. Part of me hates the idea of them remaking it. Part of me looks at it as a different movie, a new zombie movie, and likes it. Part of me hates Hollywood for its constant need to remake old films while new stories are left unmade. In the end, I think 28 Days Later did more for the genre than this movie will, but the more the merrier. Hopefully, they will make it really gory and then release it uncut on video.

Resident Evil 2 will probably be the next thing that adds a bit of attention for zombie films methinks. Due out this year.

Hmm,somehow the stories are always quite similar: boy meets girl, girl falls in love, boy and girl meet some guys, some guys get bitten by mutant zombies, the whole town gets infected and Uncle Sam nukes them to hell....or something similar... :D :D

Another point: Who came up with the idea of running zombies?Yeah, running zombies are not very "romeroresque" but if you look at all the other old zombie-flicks,zombies did run before 28 Days....
For example Return of the living Dead, there the zombies were real fast, depending on how rotten their corpses were - The Tar-man(you know who I mean!) was walking quite slowly but could also bite quite quickly...the punk-dude who turns and wants to eat Tina's brain is just as fast and mad as the 28Days-zombs...so the idea was already there before 28 Days...and who said zombies have to be slow like Romero did it in NotlD or DotD?

From what you can see from the trailer, the idea of speeding up the zombies is maybe to have more fast-paced Hollywood action, the original Dawn is quite slow in the middle(except for an exploding head every 2 minutes...) and we only see 4 characters all the time(I like that idea, hollywood doesn't),the Mall-posse of the remake seems to be bigger(anyone noticed the strange baby-scene?hmm,Braindead?)....
I just hope they don't leave much gore out.... :wacky:

Here's first review of the movie: http://www.bloody-disgusting.com/ (it got 4? out of 5 skulls). Didn't read the review myself so don't know how much spoilers it has.

Everyone here raved about Undead so i thought what the hey and i got it. Boy was that a mistake. I'm Australian and even i'm embarassed by this movie lol.

What is it that you people saw in it that was good?

Lets hope DOTD is alot better.

I thought Undead was pretty cool, but not as good as I was expecting. That one was taken off my to buy list.

Bold and perhaps arrogant statement, but by the end of this year I dare say 99 % of us will still have the same all-time favorite zombie movie.......
...as they do today.....

Wichever one it may be ofcourse.....
