About a month ago for some dark reason my eMule thought it was enough and wouldn't mind uploading, but downloading was something that wasn't gonna happen anymore. Well, so now and then I would download with 5Kb/s and would stop very quickly. I downloaded a measly Mb's in a couple of days. At that time I got upgraded and got a faster downloadspeed (up still the same :( ) maybe that had something to do with it.

Anyway I've tried several mods, changed ports, disabled firewall, AV, putting massive amount of files and made sure I stayed under the 3000 sources so it wouldn't choke my b/w and experimented some more, but without luck. I was kinda pissed since I've been using eMule
for over a year and ran perfectly with high downloadrates.

Now I've switched to Overnet. It works. That's kinda it. I really miss the options for eMule, like you can see how many full sources there are for a file and that way can see if it's safe to remove it from the share folder and communitytags, friend uploadslot and the way it's possible to control which file you want to give priority in uploading, etc..

Overnet is fine, downloadspeed is good. Just missing those options. So uhm... how are your experiences with Overnet?

P.s. I'll try eMule later this month and see if there's any improvement since last time I checked..

nope, tis crap imo. You'll probably get the same response from everyone (well apart from a select few):
Through and through; annoying ads, lack of features, high speeds for some files, really piss poor performance on most others, huge overhead, slower rate of completions, pisses around with the temp files, poor gui, bugs and errors are just some of the reoccuring 'issues' with overnet.

ed2k was abandoned for overnet, overnet was shit, but emule filled the gap because ed2k wasn't updated. overnet was 'replaced' by hybrid. Tried it several times at each stage, and has been pretty poor each time.

The network simply isn't good enough. ed2k has its flaws of course, but overnet does not offer any significant improvement, nor does it have the amount of files or support emule has.

tip: don't even attempt to release something on overnet, won't work.

There's simply no way to control that like you can in eMule  Not that I'm a releaser, haven't learned the trade of ripping dvd's (yet).

I actually doubt that anyone on this board would use it since the releases from this board are hardly available on Overnet. Had some luck with a few, but most of the time the bar will stay red. At first I thought Overnet connected to eMule users because I saw some HHAH in the friendslist, but after a week there wasn't any eMuleuser in the friendslist anymore. So it uses another network. Hmm..

Just wondering what you guys thought of it, but it's clear you dislike it.

dislike should be "I find it pointless", but yup that's about it.

Anyway, about the releasing on overnet, take a look here:

Hey, nothing against overnet. A few hundred mb/week are always in it. And why not take them? Just use a proper client which can connect to several networks at once :P

I had those same problems with emule about 2 months ago I think, and enjoyed faster dl speed with overnet, but really shitty at finding sources.. The newer versions of emule are all fixed again now. =)

Just about to kick Overnet to the curb. Back to eMule with that excellent thingy called ICH, no longer messing about with the metfilegenerator that doesn't even work :?

The Mule is behaving like it's old self again, at least it seems like it. Downloading a few files and DL rate is good and connections seems fine :D
