Ok

Well here is as promised a long time ago Alien Dead. I completely forgot about this and was just reminded about the movie today, sorry about the delay!

Btw I will powershare this from now till tomorrow at 13.00 CET at 60 kb/s and then rest of the week at 10 kb/s and then again at 60 kb/s.

Code:
RELEASE NAME     : Alien.Dead.1980.DVDRiP.XViD-SiCK
 IMDB         : http://imdb.com/title/tt0080346/
 LANGUAGE(S)      : English
 RELEASE FORMAT        : Xvid, 1185 Kb/s
 ASPECT RATIO      : 576x304
 SOUND         : 128 Kb/s VBR
 FILES            : 1XCD
COMMENT LINE     : Zombie 5 was a masterpiece compared to this ;)
ACTORS            : Bunch of ppl you've never heard of

? ?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? ?

AKA: It Fell from the Sky
AKA: Swamp of the Blood Leeches

This is Fred Olen Ray at his worst! Alien zombies wearing a rubber mask?
This is so bad you've got to see it!

The picture quality is really really bad, even the dvd cover says: "This film
has been reconstructed from the best remaining elements - some of which are not
as pristine as we'd like -- really..." ;) I don't think they even tried to restore
any elements - it's crappy from the beginning to the end! Even the sound is
out of sync in most parts! Also, the dvd cover says this is the 25th Anniversary
Edition, but since the movie was made in 1980, it's only 23 years old...
Besides these the movie is highly enjoyable!

? ?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? ?

Grabbing this one too,Love fred olen ray stuff, heh, for those that have seen scalps then you can appreciate that old Fred has a thing for those rubber masks
He probably had to supplement his budget for the movie by wrestling again.

Here is the 25th anniversary cover....heh...the Vhs is much more eye appealing.

According to the specs this one should be better than the previously posted. Decide yourself.

So, this on was since Sun Mar 07, 2004 in the High Quality section. Now after I added a presumedly better version, I wonder how long it will stay here. ;-)

is that 2 channel AC3 in Odium's rip?...bit of a waste of bitrate if it is IMO :P

i think the quality of the actual DVD doesn't deserve another d/l from me for the sake of a better resolution and 2ch AC3 but looking at it both of the rips must have a dodgy AR anyway as the DVD is listed as having 1.66:1 AR

576X304= 1.89:1
608X352= 1.73:1

which i think is outside a -/+ 3% AR offset.....can anyone else confirm this?

Don't ask me such things. I don't have the other rip. And I don't have watched this one. I took this one because with the speed I get from BT I am much less picky than with edonkey. If noone wants, no problem for me. Saves precious bandwidth ;-)

At least you can enjoy the new screenshots. :-D

well i can't find fault in your screenshots so you're ok there

IMO a low Q rip either way (both rips) and should be moved but since it's sat here since March does it really matter :)

Perhaps there should be a third quality level. We all have old rips with so huge compression artefacts, that the pictures are hardly recognisable. Bad sound that you cannot understand a word. See this one: Innocent Blood (1992), or this one: Zombie Toxin (1998). Compared with those this one is very high quality. For me means 'bad quality' that it spoils the fun watching it. Take if necessary, but replace as soon as possible. Some of the films put in low quality lately don't fit in this rather personal definition.

i think another section is unnecessary infact to be honest i think the low Q is only necessary for VHS rips and the Hi Q should just be labelled DVD rips....infact wasn't it labelled that once anyway? as long as ppl that do the ripping or are adding the file to the network where to make it VERY clear (screenshots essential) that the rip was a bit grainy/dodgy mastered rip it would be ok as everyone can make that decision to click or not and that would end all our discussions as to what section it went in :wacky:

Decisions based on screenshots are dangerous. Sometimes a screenshot looks worse than the actual scene, but more important, you never know how long a certain picture is visible here. Always possible that the webspace, which hosts the pictures goes down. How do you decide when all you see are small red crosses?

Damn you found a better tit shot than the one i posted on the tracker. Will have to look a little more thorough next time :D

Just a note- I personally am not a fan of AC3 period. Most horror flicks don't have the soundtracks that warrant an AC3 rip. Don't care for bigger filesizes either(although this one wasn't)
