d0c, you should know better. Firstly this is a blockbuster and nothing to do with horror, AT ALL. Secondly its a TS, which meant even if it was horror, it should have been in the screener section.

posting here is fine wulf, but I've locked and will delete the other thread (which sits in the non-horror section for the time being).

d0c, here are the SVCD guidelines, Guidelines. And I think you might want to refresh youself with the board rules ;)

A BLOODY BEAUTY!!!

Just when we needed more blood n religion

almost the entire film is based on gore

The violence was so gory and raw, it was so so brutal and cruel and heinous.

Second, if you really can't stand A LOT of violence, then don't bother seeing it.

No man could take that much of a beating on so many occasions and still get up, being in a bloody state, his skin all lacerated and ripped apart

The violence in TPOTC is not at all as intense as many people say, and it is in no way one of the most violent films ever made.

*sigh*
wtf would i do that? For you giving advice about the wrong section after being here god knows how long? For not being able to tell those comments were posted by christians?

Have you even seen it? I fail to see how anyone whos seen it can be that misguided about it, so i'm assuming no.

Its not violent at all, its reviewed by a bunch of christians, wtf do you expect them to think?? hardly hardcore horror fans  It's neither violent, nor gory, nor horrific in any way. It's a mainstream religious drama. Please refresh yourself with the board rules or at least try to know what your talking about.

Secondly, I'm just as pissed after all your posts you don't know that the SVCD section is for DVD rips. Its totally beyond belief  I reiterate you should have known better in all respects.. WEll at least you've got no excuse next time you post something in the wrong section or something that shouldn't even be here.

ps. John Doe obviously hasn't seen it, else he wouldn't be using IMDB (lol) as any form of evidence to the contrary ;) The passion thread has been deleted regardless now.

LOL, you guys gotta take a visit to the imdb forums. Funniest stuff i've read in a long time.
http://imdb.com/title/tt0335345/board/threads/

They are made by the same people as those quote above. Hilarious reading  The rational people are going completely nuts, with christian fundamentalists that think the world is flat, that atheists should be banned from imdb, think people "are stupid if they can't believe in Jesus" and then when asked for evidence they quote a cryptic passage from a 2000 year old book, etc.

Quote:
''Yeah, according to most of the mental midgets here, if you vote anything less than a ten, you're a gay atheist devil worshiper who hated your dad. (examine THAT proposed creature for logical consistency!) ''

lol these boards can be so much fun to read! Sometimes its better to just laugh than to join in a stupid argument

Fair enough if you gave it a 2. I gave it a 10 but that probably would have been a 5 or 6 if it was just a movie. This is so much more and I think those who gave it a 10 would probably agree with me.

:o You know, I always thought the Daily Mail were daft with their ultra-harsh, ban everything, neo-nazism, but it really does make you wonder.

Makes you want to sign up and join in the fun:

Some topic starters:
"I didn't get the movie, so Jesus knew internal affairs were in on the deal?"
"Another miracle discovered, Jesus wearing a wrist watch in Passion of Christ!"
"Titanic vs. Noah's Ark: Which was bigger?"

BTW on the violence content, and more accurately put:
Quote:
How could critics say PASSION OF THE CHRIST was too violent if they praised KILL BILL: VOLUME ONE? KILL BILL is a lot more violent than THE PASSION. There's only two extremely violent scenes in POTC: Jesus being whipped for about ten minutes or so and being nailed to the cross. In "Kill Bill," we see characters being beat up, stabbed, sliced, diced, scalped, and having blood pouring out of them like a water fountains throughout various times throughout the motion picture. And guess what folks, the movie which played its violence for laughs is being praised here. How ironic.

I think that about covers the 'violence' ;)

BTW, whilst searching through the fountain of knowledge that is imdb, here's a review of the new Dawn of the Dead:

Quote:
Excellent
A superior remake of George Romero's 1978 classic, DAWN OF THE DEAD, featuring a uniformly excellent cast, cinematography and screenplay (by the renowned James Gunn), and stylish direction (by a first-time director, no less). We just bought the DVD of the original and watched it before seeing this remake, and while the original is still a masterpiece (and looks brand new on this remastered DVD) it pales in comparison to the remake. Jake (THE CELL) Weber and Sarah (GO) Polley are outstanding as a young couple thrown together in the wake of a cosmic disaster that has turned the majority of the populace into flesh-eating zombies. Among a surprisingly large cast, Ving Rhames and Mekhi Pfeifer lend able support as zombie killers extraordinaire. The CGI is for the most part subtle, and the physical stunts and special effects are stupendous. The body count is much higher and therefore much more satisfying than in the original. The plot follows the original just close enough, and pays respect to its sense of twisted logic and sardonic humor. Wait until you see the sequence where a sharpshooter picks off "George Clooney," "Burt Reynolds" and "Rosie "O'Donnell" at the behest of the beleaguered group. There's also a neat, devilish bit near the end that pays snarky tribute to another schlocky horror masterpiece, Larry Cohen's "It's Alive." Not recommended for anyone under 12, by the way. It's way too graphic and depressing. Stay for the closing credits for an arch bit of business, about which I will say no more. This is easily the best horror film since THE RING and THE OTHERS and way ahead of recent efforts like JEEPERS CREEPERS I and II, RESIDENT EVIL, CABIN FEVER, THE TOOTH FAIRY (aka DARKNESS FALLS) and 28 DAYS LATER.

Seriously, this movie is not all that good...see it once and you will know what I am talking about. It's completely subtitled by the way,and as I am pretty much down for anything getting Christ flogged for an extended period I would say that that is its only redeeming value. No controversary, just a beat down.
Heh,most of the time I have to not read the comments on IMDB as I get pretty frustrated and pissed off with them. Those are funny though.Ban athiests, yeah that sounds about christian enough for me.Small wonder why I go out of my way to piss them off

It is nothing more than a bad religious drama.

As for imdb comments, it all reminds me of the Wickerman :o

well any movie that has killed 2 people does deserve some attention here at least.

I will see it but waiting for a decent rip.

Letterman interveiw with Gibson:

Dave: Your film is not the first bloodflowing epos aboot Christ. Was 'Jesus Christ Vampire Hunter' a big inspiration?

Mel: Well actually the original plot was quite different as it had Jesus's son kidnapped and he has to battle all these warriors and get enough gasoline to save Judas from detonating the bomb placed under his shitter before shouting: "I'll be back in the sequel! They can take our freedom, but they can never take my liiiiiiiife" Does that answer your question?

Dave: No it doesn't, but I wasn't expecting it to anyway. (throws que cards at camera) I've noticed you actually keep making the same plot over and over in all your movies, why is that?

Mel: You noticed? By my calculations the average Joe is not smart enough to figure something like that out, so I keep betting on the winning horse... ha-ha-ha

Dave: Why was there no singing and dancing in 'The Passion...' when we all know Jesus was a originally musical?

Mel: Good question! I guess the answer would be that I'm stuffed full of myself. Yeah, I gotta love me.

from there on it got rather silly...
