The cool Vincent Price movie, House of Wax (1953), is being remaked... wait for it... starring Paris Hilton

http://imdb.com/title/tt0397065/  If this one sucks ass, which is a 98%, I'm going to be pissed... again

sometimes i think that in the movie as well as in the music business there aren't any new ideas anymore. just look at the amount of books which become movies. i don't know how many (but a loooooooooooot) movies are based on books. or as we have it here on older movies. that really pisses me off.

well, at least elisha cuthbert is cute.

Shit, why the hell do they want a remake of this one? It's not even very popular...

Anyway, I think this is a huge misunderstanding. A remake of Vincent Price movie... What is the world coming to...?

then again, cronenberg's The Fly rocked!

The reason I'm thinking this is a bad idea is because there's nearly zero chance they will make a better film than the original. Which is a really enjoyable film.

Yep that is guarenteed!

I can't decide whats worse really?

A remake or a sequeal of sorts?

Is it worse to have House of Wax (2004) or House of Wax 2

They're both shite probably.

But goes for all these movies being remade.

Although I'm kinda looking forward to Starship Troopers 2 (fingers crossed!)

i'd say a sequel would be better, even the greatest films can have crap sequels. A remake is just degrading though.

That said, The Fly (1986) rocked :)

I agree 100% . The Fly was spot on and i didn't minf Fly 2, but more from a special effects point of view. Was very impressed with the level of gore/sfx in it........

Or at least take the concept and rename it!!!
Like Chateau of Melty Stuff :P

sounds too french for my liking!

How about:
Jaume Serra' s "The house of bad things that happen to stupid people who snoop around, but they are going to look, so you might as well watch these stupid bitches, that are two pretty to be opening doors without butler jeaves let alone wandering around by themselves, or watch what's on the other side, I don't mind Warner Bro's paid me up front and some director already made this film so I was on easy street directing this film."

A sequel is better than a remake, but that's like saying "Its better to be hit in the groin with a bat, than to be shot in the groin." Either way, its gonna hurt.
But who knows? We've seen a few decent to great remakes in the horror field. The Fly, The Thing and TCM all jump to mind.

say, another england/british question i have while i was reading this.

do you guys actually name your children things like 'Jeeves/Jeaves'?
i was wondering about that since spuds post above with jeaves the butler, if you people still named your kids 'jeaves' that wouldnt leave many job oportunities open.
