Easy to answer: We would recommend the movies on this site. Or why do you think they are on this site? ;-)

Sure, but if you don't write what you like, there is nothing we can tell you. I for instance like only films with supernatural background. Don't bore me with real life killers or rabid dogs. I also prefer intelligent monsters, so "The Blob" is ok, but ranks in my favourite list rather low.
Is suppose you have some preferences, too?

Hopefully you won't have all these (although you should :) )
If your wanting a werewolf film; dog soldiers, ginger snaps
If your wanting a vampire film; from dusk till dawn, near dark
If your wanting a serial killer movie; Henry Portrait of a Serial killer
If your wanting a classic horror film; The Mummy, Frankenstein or Bride of Frankenstein
If your wanting a comic/horror film; Evil Dead II, Army of Darkness, Ghostbusters, Ghostbusters II, Gremlins, Gremlins 2

Look through at the films rate 5 star in the main site database and see if there's anything that takes your fancy... :)

If you don't want some kind of horror film consult a doctor

dog soldiers

Just one question to 'dog soldiers'. Usually I have no problem to understand english quite well. Most films I'd even say I understand perfectly. But there are exceptions, so what language is this stupid movie in? Should be english, but I hardly understood a word :|

If your wanting a vampire film; Interview witha Vampire
If your wanting a comic/horror film; Braindead and all Tromas!

And Dead Ringers by Cronenberg! I was just writing in the other topic how great it was.

@wargand
it's in scottish... if english isn't your first language you might need subs
:D

polytiks are good additions, although some tromas aren't as good as others. Class of nuke em high, and toxic avenger are good :) Braindeads a good watch too.

I guess I could have given you a little more information

I'm really into supernatural stuff, ghosts, aliens, zombies....i don't really like vampires, I don't find them scary, but maybe i've just seen the wrong movies. I was so scared of werewolves when i was a child, man, i hated them !!! But i don't find the movies scary now, but maybe its the same case as with vampires. I've had dog soldiers, but it seemed kind of stupid so i deleted it.

I've never watched any of the classic horror movies like hellraiser, nightmare on elm street, children of the corn and all those others.

To mention some movies i like:
Darkness
Donnie Darko
In the mouth of madness
Bad Taste
Night of the living dead

I think that Cronenberg's and Troma's definately for me.... ! 8)

"Jacob's Ladder" is a must then
Dead alive/Braindead is a better film than Bad Taste
Dawn of the Dead tops Night of the Living Dead

Videodrome is my favourite cronenberg I think

Haha, i have all of the films mentioned  (except for videodrome)

I just never watched all of jacobs ladder....

I don't know why people prefer Braindead, i think that Bad Taste is much cooler.

As for dawn of the dead, its a pretty long film, and i fell asleep last time i tried to watch (its not meant as critisism, its just a fact).

I've heard some good things about videodrome....

i noticed

not many people like 'the item', but its fucking weird.nahh, its just weird. now 'eraserhead', thats fucking weird.

after seeing the 'classics, must see' horror films,
then(im trying to think of movies i like the first time ive seen them*)---
'waxworks' part 1 and 2 are good, like a horror movie sampler buffet.
fulci's 'zombie' is good
prince of darkness(john carpenter) is ok
House
i liked 'deathwatch' and 'the bunker' were ok. more war movies with supernatural hoobiejoobies thrown in.
'ghost rig' was on the lower side of 'ok'(i thought)
some versions of 'turn of the screw' are decent supernatural movies.
28days later
the stuff
the hills have eyes(any movie were someone booby traps grandma gets knocked up a notch)
dont go in the house aka 'the burning' is a slasher film, but i thought it was interesting for somereason.
'the haunting' original and remake may be a but slow for some people, but i like 'em.

some sci-fi-
event horizon
alien1-4
creature(i'm watchin this now, ithink i like it better then galaxy of terror)
dark side of the moon

and if you want a bad movie
'track of the moon beast'

*trouble for me, and ppeople who watch a lot of movies, is after seeing so many movies, my standards are not like regular peoples. not that they are higher(hehe, not even a little), just different. its hard to tell what other people consider 'good' in a movie.

/me likes (in somewhat random order, limited to horror):

Directors:
Cronenberg (Crash, Videodrome), Lynch (Eraserhead, Blue Velvet), Takashi Miike (Ichi, Visitor Q), Shinya Tsukamoto (Tetsuo), Carpenter, Crawen

Some movies:
Fog
Evil Dead trilogy
In the mouth of madness
Pet semetary
Delicatessen
Shining
Fallen
Das Experiment
Ring trilogy
Event Horizon
Hellraiser 1 & 2
Funny Games
Hitcher
Serpent & the rainbow
Versus

Some very B ones:
Bad Taste
Killer condom
Killer clowns from outer space
Troma

Other: mostly everything with 'Chainsaw', 'Dead', 'Zombie', 'Demon' or 'Vampire' in title. 'Werewolf' sucks, though.

So, who's gonna analyse me?

@ everone : that contamination does NOT YET work - i mean, he's sharing it yet not sharing it - I dunno how he pulls this trick ; he's got the same upload shortage as I have apparently...

@ MS, How is the actual picture quality of your copy of Creature ?
Mine's awfull but it is uncut !(97 mins it claims)

Everything with chainsaw and dead suck?!?!?!??!?!? Good job you put mostly there.

Exceptions:

Braindead/Deadalive
Evil Dead 1-3
Night of the Living Dead
Dawn of the Dead
Day of the Dead
Return of the Living Dead part 1
Texas Chainsaw Massacre (original)

They all rule :)
