I'm using version 6 free edition I think, with the newest updated virus database, yet I keep getting these mail viruses from assholes, which avg just let pass through. I just got a mail:
Subject: Re: Excel file
Body: See atached file
Attachment: Document_excel.pif

of cource I've never sent any mail with the topic 'excel file' and this is all fake, but yet shouldn't avg catch this? I don't know for sure, but am pretty suspicous that this is a virus, so I always delete the likes.

I keep getting these shitty mails. =( can't figure out where my mail's been posted. probably on some forum.

The other day I also DID get infected and AVG caught it (pup.exe in my windows directory. think it was something with windows media player cause it had mysteriously dissapared), but I was hoping it would've caught it before it had time to infect me.

i'm using AVG 7.0 email server edition and have never had any problems with it not finding anything :) is the email scanner fully functional and are you sure it's set up correctly?

I'd label it as "okay".

It normally blocks stuff for me, I got messages saying stuff like "because of the amount of virus sent from this account", but that's because it was spoofing the headers and the arseholes hadn't secured they're mail servers (which incidently is the course of all the worlds spam... dick heads in third world countries that don't know how to use their servers properally :matrix: ). Closed down that account and no more e-mails :)

AVG has found stuff, sever.exe in the C:\documents and settings... but I'm a bit sus as to how it got their in the first place.

I guess I should perhaps update? Wouldn't think it mattered as long as the reference file was updated though.

anyway, I got these two (cause bother had almost 1000 sources):
ed2k: Avg.Antivirus.Pro.V7.0.143.ShareReactor.rar  [7.85 Mb] [Stats]
ed2k: AVG_Antivirus_Network_v7.0.209_+_Crack.zip  [9.62 Mb] [Stats]

which should I go with?
You're sure there's no incresed cpu ussage in this new version like it was when I previously updated to norton antivirus 2004

top one as it's been through SR's retired hands so is bound to be verified

no idea aboot resources though as task manager looks like it's got a few listings for various AVG .exe files but combined (there's 4 that i think are avg's)

aboot 20,000 k dunno if thats good or bad but since the pc runs smoothly enough and i never get dodgy shit i'll leave it running

I use AVG 7, and it causes no cpu usage for me, runs at around 20 meg total I think. No issues for me.

Unfortunately, all cracks for v. 7 seem to stop working after some time.

I use avast! antivirus. So far so good. No viruses or anything yet, plus it's got security settings. If you set it on high alert, things will go sluggish, but set it on medium and you won't notice the different. It's free, too.
