I can run both 2gether, but rarely do. I run Azureus client, and with that it is fast anyways, but I can get it to connect to way more sources than other clients, and this in itself can cause issues with bandwidth. Shaun of the dead is a good example, at one point I was connected to 250 seeds and over 1800 peers, that woulda killed the mule for me.

Well I've managed to get emule and BT running togther with reasonable ul/dl rates. However using my connection for anything else is very slow now. Also BT never rises above 30 KB/s with Emule running, but I can live with that. :wacky:

I agree with Paul-scream22 though, BT just isn't the same as the ed2k community and I think I'll only use it for stuff I want real quick or if I can't get in on Emule (unlikely).

I feel fully redeemed now :P

it's the successor to LSD, so I guess it's not exactly following all the official mod rules. works great anyway.

if its the successor to LSD its got my seal of approval instantly, LSD was by far the only good mod imo fast as a nympho bitch in heat shagging while flying a harrier past the sound barrier and nice and stable with great features

although im wondering if BT isnt jsut crap, coz im ul on emule at 8k yet bt wont dl over 1k makes me so fucking mad, pardon my french

Has anyone who is getting slow BT downloads tried forwarding the ports, I only realised after I had been using it for about 6 months that this really sped up my downloads.

Azureus always gets me top speeds, and it only listens on one port which you can test when you first run it...

lmao!

edit: yes, don't use 6881 either, trackers are blocking it out. Try something a lot higher, I think mines at 7881, but just choose something at random :)

Maybe using the default ports is the reason mlDonkey is so slow for me. Anyone recommend alternative ports or can I just use any so long as I forward them on my router?

So why are trackers blocking 6881? I've left BT with the defaults and it seems to be working just fine - Azureus 2.0.8.4

Because too many isps are blocking out that port to combat the bandwidth used by BT (like they do with 4662)

It will obviously work fine if the tracker isn't blocking it out, you will not be able to download however, on trackers that are, gettin an error message.
