I'm searching for a place where I could buy it on dvd, but it seams it hasn't been released yet?
http://www.101cd.com/video/info.asp?id=6203703
says Release Date 14/06/2004

and there's also
http://www.choicesdirect.com/templates/ ... D=NKLK9042
which has the same rel date. none of them says anything about subs though.

Oh, so they're planning to release it? I believe it was only released on DVD with the Italian dubbing.

wow, the more I did the more strange things I see...

I've got English subs and synchronized to VCD rip. Then I wanted to synchronize them (and sound) to DVD and they just don't fit :?

Ffirst I checked how many frames there are in both rips and it turned out that VCD has 20 frames more (both counted as 25fps)... so I thought: OK, I'll stretch it 'a bit'. Doesn't fit either, if it plays good at the beginning and the end it's bad in the middle

it seems some 'scene' is missing... When I was after it i've found this:

LOL

I was looking for some info about Italian version but I don't speek Italian, so...
but I've found many places with incoming DVD (?7.99), the same release date as John Doe said :)
(I've even found Polityk's post at osloskop warning about italian dub )

I'll definitely buy a DVD (someday when I can afford it ;) ), by then I'll try to end what I started.
Sorry but with such strange things I can not promise you anything anymore...

Hahaha, let me know if you find some place to buy it cheap @carlos66, I'd love to have this one on DVD too. With the DVD release date set, I'm wondering if it's worth your effort. On the other hand, I'll download whatever comes out of it. Do they say if it's going to be in French?

LOL @ the book, silly thing, but annoying too.

You already got it?
Amazon says it will be dispatched on June 23th, so it will be about two or three weeks before I get it. Anyway, leave me the pleasure of ripping it please. :) I don't buy too many original DVDs...

sure sure. Wasn't planning on releasing it. Got too many others lined up anyway.
And I'm sure you can make a perfect quality release of it in every way, not just a simple AutoGK rip as I am doing.

It's just a movie that I'd be proud to have on dvd. Especially since it's so rare/unknown. I love boasting great flicks, noone else have heard of.. hehe.

Hehe, that's what I'm always doing. Convincing ppl something they've never heard of can be good too.

As for quality, I think AutoGK works perfectly with standard rips, if you don't need to use any fancy options. The only thing that annoys me is that you don't have any access to video codec settings.

Watched it today, and I can't say I'm completley satisfied. I think the subs are hardsubbed (couldn't turned it off anyway) and the audio got a little out of synch in the middle of the film. Then it was corrected towards the end. That couldn't be an error on my machine could it? I used WinDVD5 to watch it...
Of cource I'm happy to have the film, but still...

One thought that struck me though, seing it on a lesser quality vcd rip doesn't nessesarily lessen the viewing experience, because it actually enhances the gray, soggy, run-down, dreamlike atmosphere even more.
