mmm, from what little is on the IGN site, that's a weak launch lineup.

Now could well be the time for M$ and Nintendo to sneak in and win.

very intressting read, i have heard that xbox2 will come without hd becouse of the pirated stuff that are floating around out there for it... everyone push out its crap soon and i wonder who will die of them 3 big consol kings..

its the second generation for xbox, third generation for playstation and fifth generation for nintnedo.... when the new stuff comes out..

i wish sega could be up there also becouse they released a kick ass consols back in the days called sega megadrive/megacd/32x and dreamcast... it was awsome stuff but i guess we will never see them again..

I think it was the megacd/32x debacle followed by the Saturn that killed Sega, if even the fanboys don't trust your hardware anymore, you got problems ;)

Well to slingshot this thread even further out I'd like to say SEGA is irrelevant......
SQUARE , KONAMI , CAPCOM/NAMCO/SEGA.....in that other of importance....

I'm sure I'll have pissed some of you off now but it's that simple....Sega isn't the #2 anymore......not in popularity and certainly not in $$$.....

Tell me when was the last time you bought/downed a sega game ?

Mine was 2 FULL years ago Virtua fighter 4......and it was decent.....but no more.....

EDIT : some eggheads on some other forum had a look into this pic and they claim it's bogus.....

Your over selling Square who rely solely on one single franchise (sure a big franchise mind), whereas Capcom, namco and konami all have multiple lifelines and have the arcade markets. Sega have the arcades where they are making a tidy profit, and their multi platform titles which are selling alright, but they aren't faring to hot... its very much a hit and miss affair as of late.

So using those 3rd party developers:
Capcom, Konami, Namco, Square, Sega, in that order in terms of modern day relevance methinks. :)

Capcom's future looks very bright, what with key franchises like Resident Evil and its overwhelming presence in the arcades. Konami always does well, Namco have been putting out some Nintendo games in the arcades... square has final fantasy, sega has its arcade crop and a kind of hit and miss affair in the console business.

Just popped in to say --> *moved*

It may well be incorrect in places, but I'd be interested to see the arguments against it, as it ties in with what (little) is known about xbox2. You got links Ohgod?

Forgot all the tech jibberish they said, but border line is that the specs portray , at least by todays prices, a VERY expensive machine.....

Yeah it looks that way initially, but it's only the cpu and the Video card, the rest is pretty cheap.
Don't forget M$ have already proven they are prepared to los money on every console sold, I'm sure that won't change for the second one.

Also the machine won't be out for a year or so, byt then it won't seem anywhere near as expensive / impresive.

Looks like a good read, I'll bookmark it and have a scout when I've got more time.

Got anywhere a bit more impartial though, I'd hardly expect the 'whole' story from a sega fan site and hate those one-sided walk throughs?

Looks like the diagram is a fake, but reading this, it's a collection of what is alreay known about the Xbox2, however in that article it mentions SIX PPC processors(!) (I presume either 2x3 or 3x2 virtual processors).

Also on that site is the fact that sony are using 8! cell processors in parallel for the PS3.
