If this turns out to be true I will be seriously pissed off.

lol ai, and at the price of shipping and effort you might as well keep it

f*ck it, if its true, I'm going to get the super ultra-mega set that you know is going to be made... full director's cut. You know he's going to do it, its inevitable, Mr Anderson. Fans will pay to get it, the studio will make money out of it, and he gets a chance to edit his version of the two films.

I'm talking Kill Bill vol1 + 2 = Kill Bill: Director's Cut

I have yet to see the second one, but like always, the general feedback I've heard is that it should never had been two films in the firstplace.

I got that email too, is that actually the Uncut Japanese R2 NTSC edition that they are talking about? That's the one I ordered. It isn't too clear.

So does this mean that there is no uncut version now? :(

I'll wait until it arrives and see, although dvdfromasia seem to be pretty sure in that link: "On Saturday evening, I watched the full movie, and on the final battle sequence when Uma "pulls the fighter's eye" the picture switches to B&W."

If I wanted the western version I would have just walked 5 minutes down the road to HMV! :?

Yeah, me too, I'm really fucking angry about this TBH, if I'd wanted the cut version, I would have had it by now from play.com, as far as I can see they advertised under false pretences in order to gain orders which they knew were unlikely to demand refunds due to the expense and difficulty of doing so.

I will never ever use them again and will recommend to everyone I know that they avoid these conmen like the plague.

the uncut version stays in colour all the way through, the theatrical cut does do as described by dvdfromasia, so the rip you've got is uncut japanese... sounds like we've got the screw job.

So dvdfromasia were selling something else as the Japanese R2?

If so I can get the one I want from elsewhere.

Yes, I think they were selling the Thai one as "Kill Bill Volume 1 - UNCUT - Limited"

To be honest, If the one I get isn't uncut, as well as being pissed, I'm not going to buy another edition. Just wait for the super-duper director's cut :)

cdjapan.co.jp
amazon.co.jp
sensasian.com
yesasia.com
hkflix.com
dvdasian.com

None of these will be as cheap as dvdfromasia probably. :(

I'll wait to see what I get from them first.

Well the Jap one would be R2 and the Thai one R3, so as long as the region code is OK you should get a Jap (and uncut) one. I guess I'm OK as there's only one Ltd. Jap set with sword, bearbrick, t-shirt etc worldwide so I should get the right one. I got the e-mail too, so maybe they've just sent it to everyone who has the words Kill Bill on their orders?

Reading further into it, it looks as if they advertised the Thai R3 one as uncut which is what they believed at the time. That is the only issue.

They couldn't confuse a Japanese one with the Thai one because the language on the cover is totally different. The Jap ones are no longer on the site because they sold out.

So if you ordered Jap, you should be OK.

That's how I read it anyway. :)
