I'd still be looking in without the links, as i'm sure most people would. When all said and done i think that most people register with the intent of posting, given that registration isn't required to view the links.
I for one would certainly be in d0c's "hardcore" category if i was a font of all knowledge like many on this site are on the horror genre. I tend to fall more in the "I like a good horror flick" category rather than one of total obsession. I don't feel that this makes my presence here any less valid though. Some may disagree, but knowing you guys like i think i do, i don't think that this is the case. The welcoming nature of people here compared to many other forums, was one of the key factors in me registering.
One other factor that would keep me visiting is the willingness of folks here to help out with technical problems. There's a hell of a lot of collective knowledge here, and it's great that people are so willing and eager to help.
