Hopefully this topic will be taken a bit more seriously than the last I posted Ok here is the deal,Mark of the devil 2....roughly 90 minutes long and I have encoded with xvid 2pass of course. The source was not the best to begin with. Here is the problem...it suffers from the dasterdly checkerbox effect at times..meaning that it needs more bitrate. The question I need answered is this.....should I go ahead and do a 2 cd rip or just do an oversized one with roughly a 1000 bitrate encode...I am leaving this to you guys here...I have already tried twice with this movie so whatever you guys think is best for everyone involved with downloading it and burning would be helpful.I'll put the rip on hold for a few days and do these others I have sitting here and await everyones responce.

Ok,I'll try divx the next time around..I was using 128vbr already..had to convert that from the wav off the cap...pinnacle caps the audio on the video and does not seperate like a dvd rip.Not ever played with any ogm settings...but I am doing this one in gnot which is a new thing for me since normally I just use plain out vdub.Did that avs trick you showed me spud and that worked like a charm...I read on doom9 that for a analog cap I should be using the 1:1 setting...am I right on doing this?It looks right..but was wonderign if that is the root of my problem..I have capped bigger vhs rips at lower bitrates before and they came out fine...this one just seems to be a bitch to me though.
