Hercules are now mid to top end (certainly in GFX cards) unlike my crappy powercolor :(
Out of interest, has anyone got a stock 9800/9800pro/XT stock fan spare? That way I can RMA the old card ;)

And god only knows about the PCI thing, it's an AGP card.

Hercules???? :o
Have their standards come up in the last few years cause I always kind of looked at them as low end cheap hardware..I got a few Hercules gfx cards...none that work well that is for sure.I wish you luck though man....Not sure what all this pci talk is about unless your talking about the new pci type that was mentioned elsewhere on the forum.

Hercules are consistantly top of every benchmark spec.

I haven't checked back with those guys in a couple of years....I got a couple of cards from them...always the low end of the totem pole as far as benchmarks..mind you..these are older cards.Didn't ATI or someone like that buy them out?I really haven't checked them out since my first couple of experiences with them had been haphazard at best Kyro 64mb 4000XT and a 4500 were my cards that I had gotten...as you can see it has been a while.Just suprised they made such a turn for the better.

If i recall correctly, this is a Hercules Radeon 9800XT (in my pc) which is just about the best ATI out atm.

Panned the shit out of everything both in benchmarks and from using it (although from using it of course, I've had to make do with playing on the other cards at my friends house which is hardly fair).

They are an extremely good make, have been for quite a while too.

Weird, I'm writing this on my PC with the knackered 9800 in :o

It works with the case off and the PC lying on its side, but if I put the case back on and stand the PC upright it's a no go, so heat......
Not likely because with the case ON theres a fan that blows hot air directly onto the GFX card???

PSU? again not very likely it a fairly new Thermaltake 480W and all I have in my PC is a soundcard 2 CD and 2 HD and 5 fans.

Anyone got any ideas??

is it firmly in the GPU socket? Take it out dust it, and check the connectors.

I'll give that a go in a minute :)

I'm just glad it works at all, the arcade cabinet looms for this video card :)
