Suddenly, my monitor settings are all screwed up. When switching to clone in nView display mode with 1 as my monitor and 2 as my TV, the TV only shows the upper left corner of my desktop.

Previously when changing to clone mode my desktop changed to a lower resolution and the TV displayed the whole screen properly, but now I'm still at 1280 on the monitor and the TV out is zoomed. If I change to single display in nView, my monitor goes to the smaller resolution that I got previously when using clone only.

I've changed the monitor resolution to 1280 and the TV to 600, which is what I reckon it should be but it hasn't helped.

So the only way to use the TV-out now is to manually manipulate the image to use the upper left of the desktop only, and I can only see my monitor correctly when in clone mode.

EDIT: The part of the desktop shown on the TV keeps moving around, so the TV-out is completely useless now.

Any suggestions? :?

I thought of that, yes, also considered a modded XBOX. I'd still rather try to get this problem fixed though, rather than splashing out.

You have got the resolution set higher than your tv-out can accept by the sounds of it. Set your TV to resolution 1024x768, your monitor can go to whatever resolution you like.

You also need to make sure the fucking thing isn't in clone mode but is set as a true second monitor. Try updating your drivers for your gfx card.

The problem definitely is your tv's resolution is too high, it should be set to no more than 1024x768 (modern cards maximum).

I wouldn't bother with that, there's still so much shit it can't play.

Now Now children.

Surely we've ALL learned that on this board their are die-hard modded xbox fans and those that think standalone divx players are the b*llocks.

Dissing either only ends up in a thread hi-jacking from the camp which you slag off!

my arguement was merely a follow up to "I can't afford", it doubles the pointlessness when the player is also incapable of playing everything if you also don't have the money. Xbox mod or not at all children.

Anyways, he has tv-out.... okay its nvidia but that can't be helped at this stage

No luck changing the resolutions. What with the tearing, lines and now this debacle I suppose it's time to abandon the TV-out for good. :(

Now, let's see where I can get a modded XBOX...

You need to set your fullscreen device to secondary display.Unless you have a newer tv or HD tv it will only go up to 800x600.if you have your monitors res turned up to 1024x768 your tv will look zoomed from a desktop standpoint. But if you stick a movie in it should be playing alright.I got an Nvidia tv out and have tinkered with it to death.I ain't gonna waste my money right now on either a standalone or a mod chip...kind of pointless for me.Not sure what the controversary is..as long as you have something that will play your movies on a tv that is the most important thing imho.

hmmm, every tv I've owned, new to old to ancient are capable of displaying all the res' of my gfx cards. It's just the hardware maximum resolution for modern graphics cards is 1024x768.

That isn't true at all about tvs. What happens is, if you have an old gfx card, and you set its resolution higher than its hardware maximum, then you get the annoying mouse move around desktop deally.

I think the problem here is that it isn't setup correctly. Just go through every single configuration and properties and double check the settings regarding nview, display and secondry monitors.

I can't tell you exactly where to go anymore because I mainly use ATI (for obvious reasons) and the properties layouts are totally different.

I do remember having the same thing on mine by default, and I do remember it was very easy to correct by just setting the res on the "extended monitor" to 1024x768 (which was the hardwares max TV-out res) and then changing the mode to the correct setting.

I wouldn't bother wasting money mcm :)
