ok so as you should all know by now i have a Yamada dvx 6100 standalone dvd player which plays most .avi's i get :)

but what i need is a program that can tell you the exact build/version of Xvid the movie/show is encoded with as not everyones releases state which was used. I know G-spot tells you what codec atm but as far as i know it doesn't give the build,is there anything out there that does show the build of codec used as unfortunately the yammie doesn't handle Xvid's newer builds too well and i don't wanna burn em to disk only to find out they won't play :wacky:

Yeah all the avi appz i use don't give build information :(

I think that if you ope nthe avi with a hex editor you can view the contents of the header and get build info from there but never tried that!

Might be worth trying though, see if theres any version info in the header using......say winhex or the like?
