i am in the process of ripping 2 movies atm:

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0200515/
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0102690/

using gknot 0.28.8 and codec pak 1.6

thought i'd try using xvid this time seeing as evry1 seems to love it over divx 5 atm but on the finished rip the audio is like way outta sync :( dunno if i done something wrong or if can be fixed?

if not, i notice that there are lots of files in the rip directory and there appears to be an avi without sound and an mp3 sound file. now i suspect i can save myself a few hours and not have to go thru the entire encoding process again and just mix the avi and mp3 together. question is how do i go about this, soz 4 sound like a total newb :oops: but the few times i ripped b4 i never got these probs.

is the delay correct? You need to verify that the value you entered for the delay, matches that of the delay in the AC3 filename.

The only time gknot has let me down on sync, is when I had to force film a 29fps to 23fps, and then I had to run the AC3 track through besweet.

the ac3 filename has DELAY 0ms and thats wot wos entered :?
so am i right in my assumption that i can just mix those .avi and .mp3 files together without having to go thru the whole encoding process again? and how would i go about it? :oops: as cant find anything on doom9 to show me :(

yes, mux them using nandub. If your doing ac3, mux with delay of 0 and interleave at 64 or 96ms.

I've had this problem too, since using the latest version of GKnot and so has PC_Arcade. Easiest solution seems to be just to remux the video and audio stream.

Start Nandub
Open Moviename_movie.avi (created by GK during the encoding process)
Audio-->MP3 Audio-->Pick audio stream (created by GK during the encoding process)
Video-->Direct Stream Copy
Audio-->Direct Stream Copy
File-->Save as......

HTH, there seems to be a serious problem with the latest version of GK. This error was reported on the doom9 forum, but didn't seem to make much impact. :(

thanks folks will give a go l8a. am still a newb really when it comes to ripping but theres only one way to learn eh? :)
as said as using same setup as b4 only diff was using xvid codec not divx this time but not really sure if that was the cause of my probs.
have got other probs now tho, tried a rerip last nite without the warnings at the start and if i do it that way i get some weird green blocky shit along the bottom but if i include the warning at the beginning all is ok :?
will have more time 2mo 2 play around with so expect either more requests for help or some results in the next day or so :wacky:
